So they ‘propose’ ideas their opponents already acted upon so that they can claim credit at the bill-signing ceremony.

As to why the republican leadership isn’t screaming this from the rooftops. They aren’t called the party of stupid for nothing.

It’s up to Boehner and the GOP to point these facts out loudly and repeatedly in a public venue and emphasize that the holdup (for how many months now?) has been the do-nothing Senate, led by Harry Reid.

Neither do I…but the LSM is too obsessed with how the former Governor bashed the former Speaker to be worried about what the CURRENT Speaker says.

Boehner will have to have a heart-to-heart talk with whoever wins the Republican nom: Tell them what we did, and that you’ll sign those bills we passed. And don’t forget to campaign in states where we could use a few extra Senators!

Every time I see a liberal use that argument, I correct them. What we have is a do-nothing Senate run by Democrats. We had a do-nothing House until Republicans took over.

I read the link in head-lines; several commenters there pointed out that the President wants to give away other people’s money as well as his own. I agree with previous posts on HotAir: that Mr. Obama should lead by first writing a check to the Treasury for whatever amount he deems fair — after all, “faith without works is dead.”

I don’t understand why they are not out every day holding press conference after press conference about this stuff.

It’s possible that they don’t have the stones for the war. Recent history lends support to that idea. But there’s another angle: we have such an ADD media and limited public attention span that it’s more and more a good idea not to fire your ammunition too early: it probably gets ignored, and repetition leads to ennui. So it’s probably generally a good idea to “hold your fire until you see the whites of their eyes.” I hope beyond measure that some little task force in the GOP is accumulating all the gems we have taken note of over the last few years, even extending back to the 2008 campaign. With proper timing the barrage could (should) be devastating.

The irony of all this is that in fact Obama is at war with his own party in Congress, and apparently does not recognize that fact. Whattaguy.

I have been the one to do the good work on my own initiative & sat in a meeting to watch the ‘boss’ take the credit for it with no mention of where it came from.
It’s amazing to sit & hear someone lie so blatantly.
