So, it’s out there, don’t worry! And, no real surprises there.

I noticed there are some names that got cut off of the bottom there. What were some of the wackier VP choices from the respondents?

Sarah Palin has not endorsed Newt. Asking people to vote for him in Florida is not the same thing as an endorsement. She owes the media nothing and understands fully what has been done to Newt. She also understands that Mitt is a sucky candidate who may not be able to beat Obama.

It is actually very sad that Sarah Palin has abandoned the conservative movement and decided to support a raging, untrustworthy progressive like Gingrich. Gingrich stands for everything that Palin HAD fought against for many years. The conservative movement has lost an important soldier, but, I guess people do change, Sarah certainly has and the “new” Sarah is almost unrecognizable. Very, very sad.

Pork-Chop on January 30, 2012 at 10:06 PM

The meaning of the word conservative has been perverted to mean that a MA liberal is now called a conservative and the guy who engineered the first GOP takeover of the house is now a progressive? I think it’s not Sarah Palin who has changed.

Todd Palin to robo-call for Gingrich
*************************************

Gingrich calls Romney campaign ‘pathetic’
Four Days Ago
*************

FORT MYERS, FL–Thousands of Floridians will hear the voice of Todd Palin in their homes tomorrow as they head out to the polls on primary day. The former GOP vice presidential candidate’s husband is recording a get-out-the-vote robo-call in support of Newt Gingrich that will go out across the state, campaign spokesman RC Hammond told NBC News.

Gingrich also revealed that Todd Palin will campaign on his behalf on the trail, though he did not specific exactly how.

“I’m also delighted Todd Palin has agreed to do calls for us and campaign for us,” Gingrich told a crowd at Page Field this afternoon.

Newt is a self-described Conservative populist, “Conservative progressive” didn’t work so well.

Igor R. on January 30, 2012 at 10:23 PM

I love this site for the red meat. I generally agree on policy with most of the people here most of the time.

But I almost never agree with the majority’s candidate choices. And with no disrespect intended, I’d like to make my case for why candidates like Palin and, to a lesser degree, Gingrich might have the right policies, but are the wrong candidates.

The thing I think a lot of people here undervalue effectiveness. I’ve tended to be a 90% match on policy with Palin, and perhaps an 80% policy match with Christie. But I think he’s much the better candidate. The fact is that policy movements tend to be smallish; and when they’re not, they tend to produce a backlash. So when we’re a mile off the rails to start with, as we are now, it makes little difference whether the next POTUS agrees with me on 80% or 90% of policies. What matters is how far he will move us back toward where we need to be. And Palin and Gingrich will, frankly, be utterly powerless to move us anywhere. They evoke too much opposition. Maybe it’s fair, and maybe it isn’t; but it’s true. Anything they try to do will be stopped cold. But a person who’s less loathed by the left, like Santorum or Romney, or who is just more persuasive, like Christie, will do us more good — they’ll ACTUALLY MOVE us back to the right more than Gingrich or Palin.

I’ve already donned my asbestos jammies, so flame away; I just had to get that off of my chest.

67% claim a 7 on the fiscal scale. That means that Romney shouldn’t be able to get anything above 33%. Since he does, that means a bunch of the voters are lying. Realistically, I can only imagine the 68 people who identified their fiscal ideology in the 1-4 range voting for Romney.

She is not helping the cause nor herself at this point.

JPeterman on January 30, 2012 at 9:56 PM

While I sincerely appreciate your immigration to our country, in a myriad of ways, I cannot disagree with you more on this point.

Ms. Palin is simply wanting the vetting of the republican candidates to continue, because she’s been on the last part of that. Why shouldn’t the republican primary voter expect to their choices vetted, and vetted well?

This election is no game, as many would call it. This election, at least in my view, is the last that will or can make a difference in my life. Why does Gov. Palin’s opinion/summation matter more than your own? Or for that matter, my own?

It doesn’t. Take it as you will. In my country, all opinions, to me, hold the same weight.

I’m glad you immigrated. My grand-father did from Russia, many years ago. I will never in my lifetime forget the stories he shared with me.

From 1965 until 2001 the men of the 170th Assault Helicopter Company were disavowed patriots of America. Not defending freedom or country, but rather the lives of the men they fought with. I took a little sabbatical, but I’ve been back for three months. Ask bluefox, Dire, JPeterman, cynccook, they will collectively confirm.

Igor R. on January 30, 2012 at 10:42 PM

Nah, I trust you. Hell, I’ve been gone for 4 months. And there was an influx of new dinks.

bluefox on January 30, 2012 at 10:45 PM

I’m glad you immigrated. My grand-father did from Russia, many years ago. I will never in my lifetime forget the stories he shared with me.

I am grateful to be an American citizen.

jersey taxpayer on January 30, 2012 at 10:33 PM

With regards to Palin, we’ll agree to disagree, that’s what this country is all about, right?

And I’m grateful that your grandfather decided to immigrate here and helped build this great country. Would love to hear your stories and compare them to my grandmom’s and grandpa’s stories. Some are heartbreaking, some funnier than all get up!

How could Newt win, but Santorum beats both Newt and Romney in the one-on-one match ups? It doesn’t make too much sense to me.

I’m glad she’s speaking out. No one else was and trying to wrap this primary up with just an Iowa Caucus, N.H. Primary & S.C. Primary was premature to say the least. And now with FL, we STILL won’t have a Republican Caucus/Primary. All have been Open if I’m not mistaken.

When anyone is allowed to vote, I don’t see how they can call it a Republican Primary. That’s the RNC Chair’s fault too.

I’d like to see a National Primary Day!!

Because the vast majority of us know that Sanitorium is really the closest thing to conservative left.

Sort of amazed Santy did so well.
Never very many comments on his threads.

Night all!

Thank you for the poll, Mr. Ishmael. It was interesting.
