Those of us just over 50 (53 in June), ain’t laughing so much either. Just old enough to have watched the first episode of Scooby Doo in 1967? 68?.

Star Trek was still brand new then.

I’m wondering what other parties there are. Constitution party? I don’t think I could go Libertarian.

ddrintn on January 29, 2012 at 9:20 PM

Have to start a new one, too many crazy militia neonazi’s in the libertarian party. I would never vote that ticket. Could start one named for Reagan, his nickname was Dutch. Maybe something like that.

mark81150 on January 29, 2012 at 9:27 PM

Has anyone seen Aslans Girl? I don’t recall her being here since the day before the Governor suspended his campaign.

Flora Duh on January 29, 2012 at 8:57 PM

I follow her on twitter. She’s sworn off Hotair for now, but seems to be fine otherwise.

Regarding the poll, I didn’t vote. They all suck about the same, but for different reasons, so I can’t decide.

juliesa on January 29, 2012 at 9:27 PM

Axelrod was firing his big guns at Romney (and, believe me, he didn’t get his ammunition from Newt. This has been part of the Dem oppo research from the get go.) What is pathetic on Axelrod’s part is his rationalizing the crony capitalism with taxpayers’ dollars via the Solyndra “investment” and bankruptcy and excusing this Obama finagling as less damaging.

I think there will be a national Conservative Party on the rise after next November. The squishes would probably infiltrate and co-opt that one too, but oh well.

I don’t know about now-but in the early ‘zeros’ the Illinois Constitution Party had issues with Jews.
Which is kind of funny…being that Howard Phillips was born Jewish.

Since Chicago will see to it that Obamby will win Ill-annoy, I may just leave the Pres blank, or write in Palin, and concentrate on down ticker candidates.

I am 47. But still feel like I am in my mid 30′s thankfully. I just hope nothing happens to me or mine and all you fine people on H A between now and the next few years where O and his death panels have control over our very existence. No matter how old y’all are feeling we need to brush off whatever is ailing us and focus on replacing the current administration with men and women who respect life and liberty. There is no other way for us to secure the future of our loved ones. We can disagree on who the best choice is but ultimately it will come down to the choice between good and evil. If your choice for president is not your ideal be sure you vote for people in your districts who reflect your values.

God bless Ed, AP jazz etc for doing their best to give us the best and most informative website available. Just think where we would be without these committed bloggers? I shudder at the thought. Romney, Gingrich, Santorum or Paul–anyone of them would be far and away better than the current group of anti-American pro one world government to rule them all that we have now.

God bless all who have the fortitude to go against the current administration including bloggers, nominees, commenters, tea parties and the like. We are in for the fight of our lives and we Need to be strong, committed and persevere in light of the onslaught of hatred that is coming our way in 2012.

vote santorum/west!! and palin over christie of course. christie has shown signs of leaning moderate, he’s not as “conservative” as people thought. and palin is constantly speaking out on conservative issues. in fact, she’s been doing a lot more interviews lately and each one is a slam-dunk.

Sachiko on January 29, 2012 at 10:41 PM

I switched from the iPhone to the pc because I thought that was it. Kids grab the tablet and it goes MIA. But I found another way to cast my vote:

Gingrich/Santorum

Double down on annoying liberals. Besides, the fact that Luis Fortuño is campaigning for Romney does not bother me a bit, because he is not the head of the RNC in Puerto Rico. The leader is Aguadilla mayor, who is doing his job and endorses Gingrich.

That will be an interesting turn of events!!! Dunno if I can get to him through a pen pal that lives nearby, but don’t think for a second that because the Governor of PR is doing this-he’s getting a free pass-he’s being called on by their House and Senate as extravagant expenses-is he gonna get any political favors from Romney.

He better grab some Serta sheep…’cause he’s gonna need it to count what will Mitt Romney will do to solve that problem.

I have thought for years that Fortuño is the GOP establishment in PR. I was very misinformed.

What worries me about Obamacare, is I have two young children who depend on me. I have a host of issues from a fractured spine, who’s to say a doctor of other medical tech has the right to push me in a corner and tell me, my care is too expensive.

Obamacare does that.

They can pressure you to take your meds and shut up, for the good of.. who? The taxpayer?

When has that concerned Obama?

I plan to use every option I have to stay mobile, and walking, and don’t really care it offends some government wonk. The democrats have for decades sold this as your medical insurance if all goes wrong. now.

now?

they want to pull the plug on people? But not all people, just retirees and the disabled, the government employees have a better plan, the rich. Us? we get screwed so they can save our money to buy more votes elsewhere. If they planned to do this, why kill off the plan to privatize it, that would have given us other options. I really do believe the democrats don’t care how many people they hur. They screamed blue bloody murder about death panels, said it was a lie.

Till they got caught.

Then quietly removed the language they said wasn’t in the Bill, from the Bill by voice vote. Yeah, that’ll make me believe them. Never believe a shameless conman when he screams that loud about his virtue, while he’s busy erasing the contract he claimed was honest.

mark81150 on January 29, 2012 at 10:46 PM

mark81150 on January 29, 2012 at 10:46 PM

Mark. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your babies. I could put the tin foil hat on and tell you that along with abortion the killing of the old or disabled is their singular purpose because they have no respect for any thing or anyone. But that’s crazy, right?

AllI can say is we need to stick together now and through the next few years until we can get some semblance of sanity back. Obama care and it’s mandates are anti American and anti life. The worst part is you will ever convince a liberal that it is wrong. They will only see it as fair and just until the death panel stares them or a loved one in their face and offers some pain killer to ease their pain and die for the good of the republic.

You Rombots that keep bringing up newt’s voicing support for mandates are being either too stupid or too dishonest because that is, as everyone can see, not the same thing as actually signing it into law. Obama did that and Romney did that. Newt did not.

Left Coast Right Mind on January 30, 2012 at 12:04 AM

Last name only for VP choice forced me to pick a distant second, since entering “Paul” would be taken as a vote for Papa Ron rather than the Rand Paul that I meant.

And I’d love to see a libertarian-X comparison instead of just liberal-conservative. Though I guess that’d be rather controversial since the opposite of libertarian is open to interpretation based on whether you are one or not.

RachDubya on January 30, 2012 at 12:04 AM

ddrintn on January 29, 2012 at 9:20 PM

The Libertarian Party and the Constitution Party are the two biggest right-wing parties. I’m a Christian but, the CP platform is a bit too bible thumpery for me (I want my religion and my politics to be as far apart as possible). And I’m patiently waiting to see who the LP nominates. But, if you want a more thorough list, there’s a wikipedia article on the subject.

As for the poll, I’ve been forced to not vote due to the lack of a none of the above option for the two choices questions. There is no choice between Gingrich and Santorum.

gyrmnix on January 30, 2012 at 12:32 AM

Midnight SurveyUSA poll:

SurveyUSA’s final numbers show Romney 15 points atop Gingrich, 41% to 26%.

Romney is ahead in every region of the state. Gingrich draws to within single digits among Evangelicals, pro-life voters, Tea Party voters, and younger voters, but Romney overwhelms with a 25-point advantage among the affluent, a 20-point advantage among the college educated, a 20-point advantage among women, and a 19-point advantage among voters age 50+. There is effectively no difference between those who have already voted and those who have not yet voted, so a late Gingrich surge is not anticipated.

Gee I wonder what one of the most out of touch anti-Romney sites on the internet will turn out?

So this measures how many fools have bought the lies?

Eye roll.

You do know the man will be your President whether you like it or not.

WE THE PEOPLE choose Mitt Romney.

The rest suck.

You had your chance to find someone better. You failed. Mitt Romney is far more conservative than any of the also rans.

And in the end the good people win.

You liars and haters… just go back in your holes.

Malachi45 on January 29, 2012 at 11:52 PM

I am sorry but that logic really does not hold up. If anything, because Newt has not had the chance to sign or not sign a law regarding an individual mandate, his statements are the only thing people have to judge his possible future actions on.

TDSE on January 30, 2012 at 5:31 AM

Hey Malachi… have you seen this?

Newt shilling for Obamacare and the mandate.

Not romneycare… but Obamacare.

Massachusetts can do whatever it wants and it’s not your business… but Newt wanted to be sure Obamacare got through congress… he got about 3 million for his lobbying efforts…

But this is the only time you’ll probably he this because the left doesn’t care and Fox and this site hate Romney.

So to get a little truth to the Hot Air closed minded:

Basically in the WH we are screwed …. need to concentrate on down ticket races … in NC we get to replace the Gov. and hopefully keep the house and senate …

Mittens – too many flip flops basically Obama lite …

Gingrich – Nancy P, Suzzifava in NY … good debater … too much baggage …
more conservative then mittens but that isn’t saying much …

Ron Paul – what is there to say …. Iran deserves to have Nukes … nuff said

Rick S. A conservative Christian that wears it on his sleeve …. not going to win.

we must keep the House and take the senate …. and replace more Gov.. with conservative GOPS…… and take more state Legislators.

conservative tarheel on January 30, 2012 at 9:11 AM

My response for POTUS candidate are a little different than for “choice for President.”

For candidates it’s Gingrich > Romney > Santorum.

For choice for President (which I guess is assuming that whomever we run against Obama wins) it’s Gingrich > Santorum > Romney.

Bottom line ….

ABO

Anybody But Obama ….

we maybe screwed as far as the WH goes but we gotta try ….
no more staying home …. the Iwon can not have 4 more years to
destroy the country ….. with a conservative house and senate … they
can force mittens or gingrich to the right ….

You can’t speak for ‘We the People’-you can only speak for yourself.
If Mitt is the nominee I WILL vote for him-but only because he’ll be better than what we have now-not because he really belongs in the WH.
Mitt is a slightly left/center used car salesman who will saying thing to ‘get the sale’-even if his actions show that he believe otherwise. I wish Perry were still in, or that Jindal had decided to run-or even Palin…but that ain’t happenin’.
If Santorum is still in when the primaries hit TX I’ll be voting for him, otherwise it’ll be Newt.
In the primaries…NEVER Mitt.

Would you PLEASE include “Lawn Gnome” in the choices between 2 (or 3 if LG included)candidates? I won’t vote for Mittens (character), and would have a hard time voting for Santorum (electability).

I also wish Perry were still in it …. or Palin had run …. but as you say … it isn’t happening ….

I am voting anyone but Obama … and if that means that creepy left of center used car salesman … so be it … I will hate myself for it … but it will be better then what we got …. I started to do this survey but just couldn’t. I don’t like any of them anymore. What a dilemma. The lesser of FOUR evils, then the obvious lesser of TWO evils? I’m just sick of this crap and don’t even have the slightest feeling that I have any say at all in this process.

There are no candidates that are running on the platform of individual freedom and personal responsibility, and those that pretend to include that in their platform have super uber quacky positions on things that matter, like foreign policy.

We’re screwed if one of these 4 win, and we’re screwed times 10 if 0bama gets another 4 years. I’d sooner vote for Glenn Beck than any of these 5 idiots.
