You dumb racist conservatives are dumb. And racist.

posted at 12:20 pm on January 27, 2012 by Jazz Shaw

I first caught wind of this story from our good friend Fausta, and it seems like a suitably silly note to help wrap up an already strange and unusual week. We’ve got a brand spanking new, rootin’ tootin’ study, fresh off the press from a distinguished group of scientists. (And I can tell they were scientists because I checked, and most of them were wearing white lab coats.) In it, we find what we already suspected about the party that hates science, clings to their guns and their God, and disapproves of Barack Obama not because of his damaging policies, but because he’s black. Yep… you guessed it. Turns out that conservatives are stupid. And racist.

There’s no gentle way to put it: People who give in to racism and prejudice may simply be dumb, according to a new study that is bound to stir public controversy.

The research finds that children with low intelligence are more likely to hold prejudiced attitudes as adults. These findings point to a vicious cycle, according to lead researcher Gordon Hodson, a psychologist at Brock University in Ontario. Low-intelligence adults tend to gravitate toward socially conservative ideologies, the study found. Those ideologies, in turn, stress hierarchy and resistance to change, attitudes that can contribute to prejudice, Hodson wrote in an email to LiveScience.

“Prejudice is extremely complex and multifaceted, making it critical that any factors contributing to bias are uncovered and understood,” he said.

But… but… wait a minute here! I thought IQ tests were useless and reflected environmental effects at a far greater level of impact than any inherent capacity to acquire and retain knowledge? I’m almost sure I read that in Gods and Guns Monthly or something. But, as Fausta points out, James Taranto beat me to the punch.

So IQ tests are racist, except when they’re used to “prove” that people with “socially conservative ideologies” are racist and intellectually inferior.

TheRoot.com has an article arguing that the Republican presidential candidates are racist. It’s about as uninteresting an argument as you can find–but the headline is revealing: “Colorblind Racism: The New Norm.” That Orwellian term, “colorblind racism,” is the pithiest summation we’ve ever encountered of the absurdity of contemporary left-liberal racial dogma.

It also turns out to be a product of academia: The idea of “colorblind racism” was hatched by Eduardo Bonilla-Silva, a professor of sociology at Duke University, a decade ago. Here’s a paper on the subject from the journal Critical Sociology.

Taranto goes on to posit that some of these completely unbiased, intellectually curious academic institutions may have something of a vested interest in proving their point. You see, as the economy continues to falter and conservative, austerity leaning measures begin to take hold and spread at both the state and federal levels, the wellspring of cash which fuels the universities begins to dry up as well. And not to cast aspersions on anyone’s intellectual honesty here, but coming up with a result that casts doubt on the people threatening to dry up your grant money might not be the worst outcome in the world.

But don’t take my word for it. Click through and read both the results of the study and Taranto’s rebuttal. (And for you conservatives in the audience, that would be the left button on your mouse. Frankly, I’m amazed you figured out how to turn the computer on in the first place.)

I think you mixed up your GGM with your Minority Grievance Report (and it’s standardized tests in general, not IQ tests in particular).

I see you know as little about history as you do economics. The face of racism was set by Democrats in the 1950s and 1960s. In 1963, George Wallace was standing in the doorway of the University of Alabama as a proud Democrat. It was the GOP, not Democrats, who LBJ allied with to pass the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

Racism, as has been pointed out time and again, is the domain of the Socialist Democrats. Whose figurehead in the White House gained endorsements from both the American Communist Party and the American Nazi Party, and to date refuses to reject those endorsements.

A Dem golden boy of some little renown is quoted “I’ll have those ni***rs voting Democratic for the next 200 years.” You might have heard of him. Lyndon Baines Johnson

Robert Byrd, a Democrat senator, was an honoured Klan leader. Honoured by his own knuckle dragging, racist gang of terrorists, at any rate.

As far as “stupid” goes. There’s stupid everywhere. That it doesn’t take a genius to understand American Conservatism speaks volumes for it. In the real scientific world, complicated theories and equations are targets. As a general rule there must be a more simple and elegant way to explain things.

That it does supposedly take a genius to perform the necessary mental gymnastics to grok modern Liberalism, does the philosophy zero favours.

They are a huge embarrassment and should be sent back to the democrat party where their idiocy and racism belong. Social conservatives are a disgrace, and are singlehandedly responsible for the “racist” label Republicans are plastered with today. Because so-cons ARE racist. And everybody knows it, except the so-cons themselves, who simply tell themselves that their racism towards Mexicans, Muslims, and inner-city blacks doesn’t count. They honestly think those groups deserve the hatred and stereotypes that the so-cons love to spew.

liberal4life on January 27, 2012 at 1:00 PM

Tried is the operative word there. “Pastor” Phelps tried to run for president of the Democrat Party and successfully ran a portion of Al Gore’s campaign from his house.

And again, Robert KKK Byrd, elected and re-elected until he died.

She can’t answer that question because it’ll show up for everyone who are the true racists.

Hint: It’s the political party choose it’s candidate based at least partially on skin color rather than content of character.

dmn1972 on January 27, 2012 at 1:17 PM

You do know that the KKK was part of the Democrat Party, don’t you? You do know that many Democrats opposed the Civil Rights Act of 1964, don’t you?

Oh, wait … you’re a liberal and are supposed to be smart enough to know this. /s

PatriotGal2257 on January 27, 2012 at 1:10 PM

He does know that. He also knows, unlike you, that the Republicans deliberately courted these southern racists. The south had been violently racist for more than a hundred years, and voted democrat all that time. Beginning in the 1970s, Republicans foolishly flipped the South, and incorporated the social conservative racists. Now the racist states in the South are heavily “Republican”. Republicans traded California, Washington, Oregon, the Northeast, and the Upper Midwest for the South. They traded the rich, educated, dynamic regions’ votes for the votes of a bunch of bible-thumping Southern racists. It was the stupidest thing probably the Republicans have ever done.

Its funny, when Obama was spewing about the “success of Detroit” during the SOTUA – I went “huh??? The southern states ability to manufacture with higher quality tradesmen and right to work is why American car companies are coming around – while leaving Detroit and the Midwest and their brutal union laws.

SC/Tenn/Alabama/Georgia/Miss are all flourishing with quality labor – with a higher profit margin than the Midwest cesspools…

But hey – its those dumb, southern rednecks Obama wants to target -and piss off by giving them zero credit.

2 Automotive workers:

3.9 Georgia Tech grad from Dothan, Alabama… dumb
2.2 HS diploma Union stooge from Chicago… brilliant.

Results don’t matter…

If Romney were a black man Romneycare would have torpedoed his campaign. Since he is white and privileged, bigots give him a pass.

This whole debate has more than ever convinced me the tea partiers are racist

liberal4life on January 27, 2012 at 1:01 PM

You do realize that there is a difference between the Tea Party Movement and the GOP, right?

Barak Obama has lived a privileged life complete with private schools and an Ivy League education. How do you explain his successful political career if there is so much racism in society?

That’s right, you can’t so you just make stupid comments.

Sharron Angle
The popularity of the confederate flag
Christine O’Donnell
Michelle Bachmann (questionable because she might be a gardasil victim)

bigot4life on January 27, 2012 at 1:01 PM

You were convinced of that long before, because you immediately assume that anyone who disagrees with your messiah is doing so on the basis of color, the one thing you’re hopelessly hung up on. It couldn’t possibly be ideology; it MUST be color.

As for Romney, he clearly doesn’t have this sewn up, so your point is meaningless.

But we won’t let facts and history get in your way, will we?

CurtZHP on January 27, 2012 at 1:18 PM

David Duke is a registered Republican. Deal with it. Racists and bigots find comfort in the republican party.

David Duke tied ran for office as a republican
liberal4life on January 27, 2012 at 1:00 PM

And was renounced by the party from the POTUS on down.

Hugo Black: A former Democrat Senator from Alabama and liberal U.S. Supreme Court Justice appointed by FDR, Hugo Black had a lengthy history of hate group activism. Black was a member of the Ku Klux Klan in the 1920′s and gained his legal fame defending Klansmen under prosecution for racial murders. In one prominent case, Black provided legal representation to Klansman Edwin Stephenson for the hate-induced murder of a Catholic priest in Birmingham.

In the Senate Black became a staunch supporter of the liberal New Deal initiatives of FDR and a solid opponent of civil rights legislation, including a filibuster of an anti-lynching measure. Black led the push for several New Deal programs and was a key participant in FDR’s court packing scandal. Roosevelt appointed Black, a loyal ally, to the U.S. Supreme Court. During the Senate confirmation of Black’s nomination, the issue of his strong Klan affiliations caused a public controversy over his appointment. Following the confirmation Roosevelt claimed ignorance of Black’s Klan past, though this claim was dubious at best.

Black’s first Senate election, which occurred with Klan support, had been covered nationally a decade earlier in 1926. Black’s Klan affiliations were a well known part of his political background and received heavy coverage in the newspapers at the time of his appointment. On the court, Black became a liberal stalwart. He also continued his career of supporting racism by authoring the opinion in favor of FDR’s Japanese internment program in the infamous Korematsu ruling.

or religious when say, 90% of Jews vote for communism?

Just an opinion

JimboHoffa on January 27, 2012 at 1:21 PM

I always thought it was funny that one group (liberals) could deny being racist just by promising one minority group or the other special gifts from the treasury. They tell these groups

“Hey you need us lilly white liberals (typically) to succeed all we ask is that you kneel (vote for us). Oh and don’t vote for the other guy as we fail you, they will just fail you more. You are incapable of pulling yourself up. You need government. You need us and can’t do it alone.”

Yet that mentality isn’t considered very very racist?
