Obama’s first campaign ad: The billionaires are coming after me

posted at 9:16 pm on January 18, 2012 by Allahpundit

By “secretive oil billionaires” he means Americans For Prosperity, the Koch brothers outfit that’s running a tough ad about Solyndra against him right now. Once upon a time, they would have been described here as “right-wing special interests.” Obama being Obama, though, the conflict is framed overtly in terms of wealth and the damage its shadowy possessors inflict on the world. What’s next in this crude left-wing class-resentment campaign? Comparing Mitt Romney’s private equity firm to vultures?

Ten and a half months of this, guys. All spring, all summer, well into fall. Every day. There isn’t enough beer in the world to cure the tedium. Even so, I give The One credit for having the sheer stones to run an ad touting his record on energy jobs on the very day he torpedoed the Keystone pipeline. (See the Boehner snippet below for more on that.) I hope he’s saving the big “Mubarak toppled in Egypt!” ad for the day the new Islamist parliament is sworn in too. Exit question: Are those solar panels I see? He’s actually … advertising his administration’s track record on solar-energy ventures?

Update: A reader e-mails to note that the supposedly impressive praise in the ad about O’s ethics record being unprecedented came almost three years ago, just three months into his term.

if the gop had stones they’d respond with an ad called ‘obamas billionaires’ and highlight Soros and his ‘secretary of state project’, where he bought several secretary of state positions with dems so that they can rig/”recount” elections or not enforce voters laws

PBHO could run an ad showing him dressed in a bloody leather apron and waving around a gory Poulan, his base will still fall to their knees in ecstasy over the cool black president. It doesn’t matter what PBHO says, there are damn near 50% of the population who either don’t care if he’s lying or actually believe him.

Given the fact that gas could be in the $5/gal range by next summer, electric bills will be skyrocketing thanks to the EPA energy commissars, not to mention the frequent blackouts, Iraq will be in flames and in need of an infusion of troops which Obama won’t send bc of the optics–a lawn gnome will be able to beat Barack Obama. I honestly marvel at the stones this guy has. I’ve been on this Earth for 54 years paying pretty damn close attention to politics since I was 18 and I have never seen a guy so bold when it comes to flat out lying, on camera, constantly, almost daring someone to challenge.

I don’t think anyone realizes how bad this really is, The President Of The United States isn’t “dodging”, being “coy”, or “stretching the truth”, but rather he’s obviously, provably and undeniably flat out lying and smiling at us the whole time and it appears over half of the country couldn’t care less.

Ladysmith CulchaVulcha on January 18, 2012 at 9:33 PM

Hi. James Baldwin here… editor of Oil and Energy Investor…

Um…

Want to know why we were below 50 percent last year?

“U.S. dependence on imported oil fell below 50 percent in 2010 for the first time in more than a decade, thanks in part to the weak economy and more fuel efficient vehicles, the Energy Department said on Wednesday.”

That’s from a May 25, 2011 Huffington Post article.

The weak economy is to blame. Oh, and any ramp up… it will be in part because of the shale gas and oil technology that has changed the way we produce. Of course, the EPA is close to shutting that down after the election.

Can we please have a rational debate please about an actual f-ing energy policy for the first time in 30 years, please!

Romney has one advantage over PBHO: Romney has never been President.

You may not like the facts but the facts don’t lie; PBHO has stone-cold lied about everything he promised to the left, and the left has given him a pass for the things that they previously said made Dubya a modern-day Hitler.

Can’t fight the numbers, dude, and the numbers are bad. Choose one, any one, and go from there.

That’s exactly what he’s been doing the entire duration of his retarded term. he gets off on telling the dumbest, most ridiculous lies possible and watching his supporters twist and turn as they explain it, while the cowardly GOP hides in the corner until it can all pass.

As you said, this is far more dangerous than most people want to acknowledge. Of course, if they would acknowledge this, then they wouldn’t be hiding in the corner, to start with.

Barky just loves to play on this brink. He doesn’t really care which way it goes, so it’s an easy game that even a total retard like Barky can win at (given the cowards on the other side who are unwilling to defend even one iota of what might remain of America).

Only a dumba$$ liberal would call this “winning”:

The Obama record:

In January 2007 before the Democrats took over Congress, unemployment was 4.6 percent; now it’s ranged from 8.5 to 10 percent.

America has lost 1.9 million jobs since Obama signed the stimulus.
Chronic unemployment worse than Great Depression

Millions of Americans falling out of the workforce…

In January 2007 there were 7.1 million unemployed people in America; now there are over 14 million.

US house price fall ‘beats Great Depression slide’

* In January 2007 the median home price was $210,600; today it’s $179,300.
* The poverty rate in 2006 was 12.3 percent; now it’s over 14% percent

2007 Deficit: 162 billion …………..2011 Deficit: 1.6 Trillion
2007 Debt: 9 trillion…………………..2012 Debt: over 15 trillion

2000-2007 strongest productivity growth (2.5) in 4 decades
Robust GDP growth (2-3%) after the devastation of 9/11
In the 13 Quarters since the recession,Obama has only produced .8% GDP growth

The federal government has accumulated more new debt–$3.22 trillion ($3,220,103,625,307.29)—during the tenure of the Democratic 111th Congress than it did during the first 100 Congresses.

3.66 billion dollars a day

When the Pelosi Democrats took control of Congress on January 4, 2007, the national debt stood at $8,670,596,242,973.04. The last day of the 111th Congress and Pelosi’s Speakership on December 22, 2010 the national debt was $13,858,529,371,601.09 – a roughly $5.2 trillion increase in just four years.

Obama Added More to National Debt in First 19 Months Than All Presidents from Washington Through Reagan Combined, Says Gov’t Data

More Americans living in poverty
WASHINGTON — New census estimates show the number of Americans living in poverty is higher than previously known — reaching a new level of 49.1 million, or 16 percent.

More People On Food Stamps Than Ever Before

Since November of 2008, when there were 30,885,000 on Food Stamps, the figure has risen almost 39.87% in two years—22% in 2008–‘09, and “only” 14% in 2009-‘10

Nearly Half of U.S. Lives in Household Receiving Government Benefit

Nearly half, 48.5%, of the population lived in a household that received some type of government benefit in the first quarter of 2010, according to Census data. Those numbers have risen since the middle of the recession when 44.4% lived households receiving benefits in the third quarter of 2008.

Obama Has Now Increased Debt More than All Presidents from George Washington Through George H.W. Bush Combined

The Obama administration passed another fiscal milestone this week, according to new data released by the Treasury Department. As of the close of business on Oct. 3, the total national debt was $14,837,099,271,196.71—up about $44.8 billion from Sept. 30.
That means that in the less-than-three-years Obama has been in office, the federal debt has increased by $4.212 trillion–more than the total national debt of about $4.1672 trillion accumulated by all 41 U.S. presidents from George Washington through George H.W. Bush combined.

(now the debt is over 15 trillion and counting)

….2011 debt to GDP ratio is about 100%

Gallon of Gas in 2008 $1.68….
Gallon of Gas in 2011 $3.85…..

Poverty rate rises as incomes decline – Census

The poverty rate for children rose from 20.7 percent in 2009 to 22 percent last year, making kids more likely than any other age group to be poor. For children under the age of 6, the picture is even bleaker–25.3 percent of them lived in poverty last year. Overall, 15 percent of Americans were poor last year, the highest rate since 1993.

WASHINGTON (AP) – Call it the recession’s lost generation.

In record-setting numbers, young adults struggling to find work are shunning long-distance moves to live with Mom and Dad, delaying marriage and buying fewer homes, often raising kids out of wedlock. They suffer from the highest unemployment since World War II and risk living in poverty more than others – nearly 1 in 5.

After losing more jobs after 9/11 than were lost in the 2009 economic collapse….Bush created (not saved) ..CREATED more jobs than Obama:

despite an unemployment high of just 6.4%, more jobs were lost in the first seven quarters of the 2001 recession than were lost in the first seven quarters of this recession. How is that possible? How could job losses have been worse in 2001 but unemployment so much higher now? Weak job creation. The latest Bureau of Labor and Statistics data show that employers have created 8.6 million fewer new jobs this time around than they did almost a decade ago. Heritage Senior Labor Policy Analyst James Sherk estimates that lower job creation accounts for 65 percent of the recession’s decreased employment.

….add to this a foreign policy that has helped turn countries over to the jihadist from Yemen…to Egypt….to Libya….and now his retreat in Iraq and Afghanistan has given the jihadist even more reason to celebrate….
“Smart power is working out great…for the jihadist”….
…….but the “Taliban are not the enemy” right bedbug……

…Israel-Palestinian relations worse than ever…..

Pakistan relationship so bad that they now court China and felt imboldened enough that China has declared an attack on Pakistan is an attack on them….

Iran well on it’s way to a nuclear weapon with Obama out there begging for “face to face talks” in secret love letters…

Russia making Obama look like a fool after Obama gives up a missile defense/radar station and signs a treaty that was supposed to get Russia to partner up with the US against Iran….how did that work out bedbug…..with Russia now declaring that the US is telling lies and getting no help at all with “getting tough on Iran”…..

“We won!!!”….what a joke.
Bedbug couldn’t make more of a fool of himself if he got on here and endorsed Obama’s “transcontinental railroad”….

….sing it bedbug “4 more years of Obama….the chickenhawk,Wall St. bought, leader of the downgrade!!!!!”

The GOP needs to do what McCain didn’t and hit Obama HARD on his radical ties. The reason Obama has the cajones to run on energy jobs and solar panels is because he knows he can a majority of voters to not let the facts get in the way of a good story, and the media won’t fact check him either.

Make fun of Trump all you want, but he got traction with the birther issue and scared the hell out of the White House – TAKE IT TO HIM relentlessly. Bring up every past association, every marxist connection, every slum lord, every unreleased college transcript and cover the guy in mud. Get straight up conspiratorial on him because a massive chunk of the American Electorate thrives on this stuff. Run the campaign like Howard Stern runs his radio show, when he thinks he shouldn’t say something, that he knows that is exactly what the audience wants to hear.

Run the campaign like a dirty trial lawyer, hit him with everything until something sticks. As enraging as Ron Paul is on Foreign Policy, I have to say that a Ron Paul campaign would absolutely devastate Obama in the ad wars. Get his ad team to go to work in the general.

Thanks…we’re all in this together.

It is obvious that democrats (with the help of the MSM) have settled on just outright lying about Obama’s record in hopes of fooling enough people to go along with the core Obama cultist to try and win in 2012.

You would have to only watch MSNBC and “keeping up with the Kardashians” to be dumb and uniformed enough to buy into this drivel.

I agree with this.
The MSM totally tried to gloss over this or yell racism in 2008.
The electorate didn’t push it because they wanted to give Obama and his “hope and change” scam a chance.
Obama is not held anywhere near in that same light now.

ABC and other networks are going into Romney’s church dealings and we have watched Perry being attacked due to some abstract rock in a field that nobody can find.

If the democrats want to go down this road….it works both ways:

As to why the association with Ayers matters, it all goes in the “Getting to Know You” file. This is from p. 100 of Obama’s “Dreams From My Father”:

To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist Professors and the structural feminists and punk-rock performance poets
.We smoked cigarettes and wore leather jackets. At night,in the dorms,we discussed neocolonialism,Franz Fanon,Eurocentrism, and patriarchy. When we ground out our cigarettes in the hallway carpet or set our stereos so loud that the walls began to shake,we were resisting bourgeois society’s stifling constraints. We weren’t indifferent or careless or insecure. We were alienated.

Ayers: Obama was ‘family friend’
New afterword to 2001 book, Ayers describes Barack Obama as ‘family friend’

We had served together on the board of a foundation, knew one another as neighbors and family friends, held an initial fund-raiser at my house, where I’d made a small donation to his earliest political campaign,” he writes.

Obama once visited ’60s radicals

By: Ben Smith
February 22, 2008 01:26 PM EST

Dr. Young and another guest, Maria Warren, described it similarly: as an introduction to Hyde Park liberals of the handpicked successor to Palmer, a well-regarded figure on the left.

“When I first met Barack Obama, he was giving a standard, innocuous little talk in the living room of those two legends-in-their-own-minds, Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn,” Warren wrote on her blog in 2005. “They were launching him — introducing him to the Hyde Park community as the best thing since sliced bread.”

The Friends of Barack Obama, Part 2

http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives2/2008/04/020362.php

Obama has defended his relationship with Ayers and Dohrn by saying that Ayers did “reprehensible” things forty years ago, when Obama was eight years old. He says that Ayers and Dohrn are now respectable, mainstream figures in Chicago. But the reality is quite different; they, like Wright, are anything but “mainstream” in their views of America. The audio clips in which Ayers and Dohrn reveal their still-radical views were uncovered by Guy Benson, a recent college graduate who works for radio station WYLL in Chicago.

Almost Like Reporting
Pete Yost of the AP covers the cover-up of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge archives described yesterday by Stanley Kurtz at NRO:

Ayers gave a completely unqualified Obama a job in which he administered $50 million (and another $60 or more million in matching funds). This single act helped jump-start Obama’s political career, as evidenced by the interview. The question no one is asking: why?

Ayers and Obama also served together on the board of the Woods Fund of Chicago. Among those who received funds from the pair were the Arab-American Action Network, founded by a member of the PLO, and ACORN, a group infamous for vote fraud even to this very day.

Yost makes no mention of the fact that Obama was asked about Ayers at the Philadelphia debate in April and described him as “”a guy who lives in my neighborhood, who’s a professor of English in Chicago…”, rather than as “a guy I worked with on education reform for six years without accomplishing anything” (The Chicago Annenberg Challenge was ultimately judged a failure by the Annenberg Foundation.)

Obama’s Mentor(Rev. Wright): Black Liberation Theology Is Marxism… Capitalism Is a Demon

Rev. Wright admitted that Black Liberation Theology was essentially socialism or Marxism. He also told the crowd that capitalism is a demon.

..this is the same man who said America deserved 9/11….accused the CIA of planting AIDs in the black community…. and yells “God D#$m America of KKK from the pulpit”.

Wright proclaims himself an exponent of “black liberation theology.” He cites James Cone, a distinguished professor at New York’s Union Theological Seminary, whom he credits for having “systematized” this strain of Christianity.
Here is a quote from Cone, explaining black liberation theology

Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community. . . . Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love.

…more “mentors” of Obama.

FRANK MARSHALL DAVIS

Frank Marshall Davis (1905-1987) was a black poet and writer (he wrote for the Honolulu Record, a Communist newspaper), and a known member of the Soviet-controlled Communist Party USA (CPUSA). Accuracy in Media editor Cliff Kincaid has done important investigative work detailing Davis’ Communist ties.

In the 1970s Davis met a teenage Barack Obama and his family, who also lived in Hawaii. Davis soon became the young man’s mentor and advisor.

In his 1995 book, Dreams From My Father, Obama writes about Davis but does not reveal the latter’s full name, identifying him only as “a poet named Frank” — a man with much “hard-earned knowledge” who had known “some modest notoriety once” and was “a contemporary of Richard Wright and Langston Hughes during his years in Chicago,”

..Obama’s confidant and mentor Davis was also a Pedophile:

In a surviving portion of an autobiographical manuscript, Mr Davis confirms that he was the author of Sex Rebel: Black after a reader had noticed the “similarities in style and phraseology” between the pornographic work and his poetry.
“I could not then truthfully deny that this book, which came out in 1968 as a Greenleaf Classic, was mine.”

One chapter concerns the seduction by Mr Davis and his first wife of a 13-year-old girl called Anne. Mr Davis wrote that it was the girl who had suggested he had sex with her. “I’m not one to go in for Lolitas. Usually I’d rather not bed a babe under 20.
“But there are exceptions. I didn’t want to disappoint the trusting child.
At her still-impressionistic age, a rejection might be traumatic, could even cripple her sexually for life.”

White House stands by ‘truther’ Van Jones

The White House would not say whether the White House’s green-jobs czar, who has been linked to Sept. 11 conspiracy theorists, continues to enjoy the confidence of the president, but an official said he is still a part of the administration.

“I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th, and then the [Rodney King] verdicts came down on April 29th,” he said. “By August, I was a communist.”

The New Black Panthers:

The racist NBPP is led by notorious extremist, Malik Zulu Shabazz, and (was) a registered team member and blogger on Obama’s campaign website.

Shock Photos: Candidate Obama Appeared And Marched With New Black Panther Party in 2007

Among those appearing with Obama was Shabazz, the Panther leader who was one of the defendants in the voter intimidation case that Attorney General Eric Holder dismissed. Also present was the Panthers’ “Minister of War,” Najee Muhammed, who had called for murdering Dekalb County, Georgia, police officers with AK-47’s and then mocking their widows in this video (7:20 – 8:29).
Injustice includes a disturbing photo of Shabazz and the Panthers marching behind Obama with raised fists in the “Black Power” salute.

Jodie Evans: Code Pink founder, Obama bundler, Osama apologist

http://hotair.com/archives/2008/06/12/jodie-davis-code-pink-founder-obama-bundler-osama-apologist/

Evans may have made controversial statements in the past, but that won’t hold a candle to the statements she made on a radio show called “The Conscience of Kansas”. Paul Ibbetson spoke with Evans about the 9/11 attacks, :

Ibbetson tries to explain that we hadn’t done anything to provoke the 9/11 attacks by saying we hadn’t invaded Afghanistan. Evans replies that we were in Saudi Arabia, which to her gave al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden a rational reason to kill thousands of Americans in terrorist attacks. Note that she says, “I don’t think any terrorist attack is justified,” and then says we should listen to Osama bin Laden and change our policies because — “Sometimes, it would be a good idea to listen to why someone is trying to blow you up”.
Q: Do you think that’s a valid argument?
A: Sure. Why do we have bases in the Middle East?

Barack Obama thanked Jodie Evans for her support during the campaign
.

Obama will not allow photos with the Israeli Prime Minister but has no problem posing with Code Pink Marxists.
Jodie Evans visited the Obama White House in June 2009 just days after meeting with the Hamas terrorists.
These same democratic operatives supported the Obama Campaign and were seated up front at Barack Obama’s inauguration.

These are the same people running around looking for extremism and racism in the Republican party by “hearing dog whistles”……

I think a lot more Americans will be interested about these beliefs and associations than they were back in 2008.
