No, he said it’s a result of our interventionist foreign policy, and he wants to make cuts in everything, but the largest expenditures are defense and entitlements. You can’t seriously talk about cutting spending and not cut those two areas.

Marianne Gingrich has vowed for SIXTEEN YEARS that she would destroy Newt if he ran for POTUS and got close to winning. This has NOTHING to do with Mitt. And NO ONE was paying the Cain victims either, those sex harrassment complaints were filed back in the early ’90s AND that women who had an affair with Cain began the affair THIRTEEN YEARS ago. That was ALL Cain’s fault — NO ONE else’s. Just like this with Newt. They are both cheaters and their faults have come to see the light of day. Thank God.

Just caught this. It’s not a “lie”, I got that info from Allahpundit himself a few months ago. I supported Newt up til then as my second choice. I used to post good things about him. I thought the couch was just his falling for global warming — it’s NOT! He did support Cap and Trade. I’ll try to find the link that Allah posted, but that was when I realized I could NEVER support him. The straw that broke the camel’s back.

I think Gov. Perry should stay in.

I’m not a Perry fan but I prefer him to Newt or Santorum. I don’t believe either Newt or Perry are genuinely conservatives, they’re just politicians pandering for conservative votes IMO, but while Newt is an authoritarian technocrat, Perry seems like an easygoing guy. I think he’s still married to his first wife too, though I’m not sure. And while Santorum seems more genuine to me than Newt or Perry, (less pandering), he is more uptight than Perry and supports big, religious government. Perry is also into big-religion but, unlike Santorum, he doesn’t have the nations sodomy case-law memorized. I don’t think he’s as authoritarian. (Maybe that’s why evangelicals don’t like him and Bachmann; they want big-gov authoritarianism.)

But I’m supporting Ron Paul myself and if older conservatives prefer an authoritarian technocrat with character flaws over an easy going religious guy who doesn’t want to rule peoples lives then I guess that’s their business and maybe Perry should drop out even if he is actually a superior candidate.

Rick Perry should stay in. Perry is THE only conservative in this race. There is NO enthusiasm in the republican party for Romney…you know Romney will be just like McCain…he will not take it to Obama and he will lose.

Sorry, I figured people here aren’t totally ignorant.

newt Gingrich sat on a couch and did a pro-global warming ad with Nancy Pelosi. He’s smart enough, and claims to understand science enough, that he could ahve done the research and figured out the AGW is a pile of crap.

But he’s intellectually vain, flighty, and unserious, so he went with the bien pensant view and did the stupid ad.

Then there was his crack against Ryan’s Medicare plan as “right-wing social engineering”. Conservatives don’t use “right-wing” as a pejorative.

If Newt’s the Republican nominee, you’re going to see the biggest “gender gap” in the vote in history, and Newt will lose.

Yes, you may. Mitts a weather-vane. Push from the right, and he’ll go to the right. Gingrich is a loose cannon who believes his press clippings that he’s a “genius”, and fantasizes that he’s a “statesman.” That’s why he sat down on that couch w/ Pelosi.

I think that Romney has a much better chance of winning than Newt, and is less likely to cut deals with the Democrats (so long as Republicans control the House and the Senate.

I’d rather have Perry, because he’s an actual small government conservative. None of the other remaining candidates are. Given that, if Perry drops out I’m going for the guy most likely to win, and least likely to make conservatives look bad.

And that’s Mitt Romney.
