Write-in campaign for Hillary underway in New Hampshire

posted at 7:50 pm on January 10, 2012 by Tina Korbe

Theoretically, Barack Obama is running unopposed for his party’s nomination for president in New Hampshire and across the country. In reality, he shares the ballot with at least eight others whose names are virtually unrecognizable. Now, though, a write-campaign for a lady whose name is familiar is also underway in New Hampshire, according to a TV segment this afternoon on “Your World with Cavuto” on Fox News.

I tell you, Hillary Clinton supporters do not give up. Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz has assured members of the media that Obama won’t swap Joe Biden for Hillary Clinton on his reelection ticket. So, what do Hillary supporters do? They target Obama’s half of the ticket. Featherbrained or brilliant? Let’s say it’s a little of both.

Taking inspiration from Eugene McCarthy’s surprising New Hampshire haul of the protest vote in 1968, which subsequently led to incumbent Lyndon B. Johnson’s withdrawal from the race, staunch Hillary Clinton supporter Steve Rosinski has urged discontented voters in New Hampshire to write the current Secretary of State’s name on the ballot. Rosinski, who created a petition to draft Hillary for 2012, says he has talked to numerous voters on the ground in New Hampshire — and they’re not satisfied with either Obama or the GOP candidates. Not only are they disappointed with the overall performance of the economy under Obama’s watch, but they’re also upset with White House scandals like Solyndra and Fast and Furious, Rosinski said.

It’s doubtful that Hillary will receive 42 percent of the Democratic vote in New Hampshire, as McCarthy did in 1968 — but it surely can’t be comforting to Obama to know folks this dedicated to his demise are out there. As Neil Cavuto put it at the end of the segment, something must be behind Obama’s recent base-shoring efforts. In just the past week, he’s announced “new” summer jobs for would-be Obama Zombies, created an easier path to citizenship for illegal immigrants and praised Environmental Protection Agency personnel for their hard work as a symbolic way to appease angry environmentalists.

Worried about your reelection much, Mr. Obama?

Quite a conundrum for the sensitive types on the left: Vote for Hillary and you’re a racist, vote for Obama and you’re a sexist, vote for for neither and you’re sane.

Huh, what oh what will they do?

mankai on January 10, 2012 at 7:59 PM

I was in 6th grade when McCarthy entered the race. And RFK got shot. Each candidate was represented by a student, for a mock election. My best friend was RFK, so there were jokes about him walking around with a bullet in his head, which he didn’t appreciate. Everyone voted for McCarthy in the mock election, because the McCarthy candidate talked to each student individually and explained that war is bad, and he’d end the war.

Featherbrained or brilliant?

It’s featherbrained to vote Democrat to begin with.

From my own point of view, anything that antagonizes The Ego suits me just fine.

With Obama crumbling, Soros needs someone else to pick up the banner and finish the job. Hillary!

timmytee on January 10, 2012 at 8:13 PM

Write in for what? Hillary Clinton has been a complete disaster as SOS and she lost any credibility that she may have had (real or imagined) when she signed on with obama to help him destroy America.

Anyone who imagines that Clinton would be a better or substantially different type of president than obama, should put the bong down and get a little fresh air.

DOPE and Change? Why bother? Clinton = obama | obama = Clinton; both are enemies of America.

they lie on January 10, 2012 at 8:25 PM

My bet, maybe 2:1, is that she’ll opt for 2016, instead of 2012 as Øbama’s sidekick. Øbama will beg on his knees and then with his thuggery, and she will decline. Weigh against that, that she’s feeling a bit tired right now. She wants a rest. But she will recoup and be back.

Bottom line: Øbama will eventually come to realize that he needs her on his ticket if he’s to win. And Shrillary will say NO.

I will always love VanHalen and enjoyed Sammy more than david lee. Sorry. Went off topic. Too much wine! Btw my all time favorite HA thread was the one not too long ago where Miracles by Jeff airplane was tops. Which one was it?

Romney -> 38%
Paul -> 23%
Hunstmann -> 17%
Newt -> 10%
Santorum -> 10%

.
Perry -> 1%

Last place in the weakest field is remarkable. Perry fatigue is setting in as I predicted and many are abandoning ship.

Its a shame the Perry cultists spent so much time bashing better candidates. They had to because their guy is such a miserable campaigner and debater. The conservative cause was damaged in the process.

Frobenius on January 10, 2012 at 10:55 PM

This is joke. Everybody knows that the 90% plus black vote would be gone for years if Obama was bounced out by some inside Democrat group.
This is someone’s fantasy.

Hummer53 on January 10, 2012 at 11:31 PM

This will be a moot campaign once Barry announces plans for a 4th annual recovery summer. The media will report it as though Barry’s words have somehow acquired factual content, then the Democrat proletariat will be thrilled and fall in line in front of him, so he can continue to lead from behind.

MrKleenexMuscles on January 11, 2012 at 5:15 AM

Hillary is burnt out. She has been a total failure as SOS “Smart Power”, “Reset” etc. Obama has been clever by keeping her on the road constantly and away from her base.

She also looks terrible. Which is to say more terrible than usual kind of like a rain barrel with a long, greasy ponytail.

so-notbuyingit on January 10, 2012 at 7:57 PM

Not surprising as to to the possibility.
Why not?
The left has tons of money.
And really, haven’t they already been trying to hijack primaries anyway?
I keep telling my students who are old enough to vote that the primary process is more important than the election.
I’d rather hold my nose & vote for the lesser of 2 evils, hoping their SCOTUS appointments are at least conservative than just make a symbolic vote for nothing & let the Dem win. Like Clinton. And Wilson.
Dems don’t have this problem, voting their conscience.
They stick together in their dogma.
The independents are mostly lemmings.
Easily bought & swayed.
Little critical thinking skills, IMO.
The few independents who are intelligent that I have personally met, really struggle with their conscience bcs they want the perfect candidate.
And that is not possible.
Therefore, the GOP primary is extremely important.
Get your a$$ involved at that level & find a candidate we can all live with.
There are Reagans out there, you know.
