Navy SEAL: Why yes, I did punch Jesse Ventura in the face for saying we deserved to lose some guys in Iraq at a wake for an MOH recipient

posted at 4:32 pm on January 5, 2012 by Allahpundit

Via Breitbart TV, three minutes from Opie & Anthony with the deadliest sniper in American history. So awful is this accusation that I paused after watching it to consider that maybe it isn’t true. I mean, is this something that a belligerent Truther would be likely to say to a bunch of a servicemen while they’re mourning a fallen comrade? And then I thought: Yeah, this is exactly what he’d say. So there you go.

By the way, was Jesse Ventura actually once governor of Minnesota? This Jesse Ventura? Did I hallucinate that? Content warning.

Any bald guy with a vestigial ponytail should be punched. Not necessarily by me, I’m just saying.

Akzed on January 5, 2012 at 4:45 PM

This Jesse Ventura?

Has anybody here actually watched his show? It’s (unintentionally) hilarious. He is under the impression that since he is a former governor, he should have unrestricted access to all government facilities and since he is a former SEAL, he should have unrestricted access to all military facilities. My favorite part is when he calls in “the wildcard.” Who is “the wildcard,” you ask? Alex Jones, of course.

I’m sure it’s Ron Paul’s favorite show.

Fezzik on January 5, 2012 at 4:45 PM

Limerick on January 5, 2012 at 4:47 PM

Anyone familiar with Jesse Ventura (and I am, through my 20 years as a diehard wrestling fan) knows that yes, actually, it is PERFECTLY believable that he said this. He’s that far gone.

I loved the shot that Jim Norton got in on him too. For those not familiar with the situation, Ventura’s feud with O&A started years ago, when he was a guest on the show, started spouting off more of his inane (and already debunked / disproven) “the government was behind 9/11″ conspiracy theories, to which Norton called him out on his BS. Which prompted Ventura to storm off in a huff, but not before trying to physically intimidate Norton (while, to his credit, Norton stood his ground and cracked about Ventura having Rocky Horror Picture Show / Riff Raff hair).

Vyce on January 5, 2012 at 4:47 PM

I suspect that the entire problem with Jesse Ventura is that he has been hit in the head (or face) far too many times.

Maybe the Navy seals should go for the Guinness record, CC.

Ted, King, et al..from his Wikipedia bio:

From September 11, 1969, to September 10, 1975, during the Vietnam War era, Ventura served in the United States Navy. Ventura graduated with BUD/S class 58 in December 1970[7] and was part of Underwater Demolition Team 12 (UDT).[8] The UDTs were merged with the US Navy SEALs in 1983, 8 years after Ventura had left the Navy.

The War Planner on January 5, 2012 at 4:56 PM

ted c on January 5, 2012 at 4:43 PM

No, he was in the Underwater Demolition unit which gradually evolved into the SEAL unit. Jesse retired from the military eight or ten years before SEALs even came into existence. The UD guys were tough guys, but nothing like the present day SEALs. Jesse was a wannabe.

Sadly I lived in Minnesota when he was up for election, and I totally predicted that he’d win. I also predicted that he’d be an embarrassment to the state for decades to come.

Now, to be fair, when he was actually running, he ran to the right on a couple issues. Once in office though he was all over the place, when he wasn’t busy making appearances on television or reffing wrestling matches. His candidacy and governorship were both one great big publicity stunt, and young barely eligible voters bought into it hook-line and sinker and showed up to vote in droves.

Sadly, after electing Frankin it seems those same voters haven’t learned their lesson about celebrity candidates.

That’s what happens when you use steroids to pump up your weak sister physique so you can become “the body”. Jesse’s nads must have shrunk to the size of a pair of raisins which is undoubtedly twice the size of his brain. Sorry to say I live in Minnesota because of this douche but I can proudly say I never voted for one to be governor.

chickasaw42 on January 5, 2012 at 5:07 PM

I think Jesse took one too many direct head butts to the canvas while being body slammed. Also, don’t forget that the esteemed citizens of Mini-soda also gave us another brain damaged, probably from drugs, ex-comedy writer. Hey, on second thought, maybe it’s something in the water.
