Video: Failed promises, Iowa edition

posted at 3:45 pm on January 3, 2012 by Tina Korbe

As the GOP candidates clawed and picked at one another this morning in advance of tonight’s Iowa caucuses, Barack Obama’s PR team coolly tweeted, “Four years ago, Barack Obama won the Iowa caucus. Where were you? #Obama2012″ That tweet followed on the heels of an earlier tweet that touted Barack Obama’s #promiseskept. “Four years ago today,” the blurb read, “candidate Obama told Iowans he’d reform health care and end the Iraq war.”

But as the Republican National Committee reminds us in this video, Barack Obama hasn’t kept all his promises. Domestically, unemployment remains high, and, internationally, anti-U.S. sentiment has actually mounted among some allies. Obama said, if he couldn’t turn the economy around in three years, he’d be looking at a “one-term proposition.” More recently, he’s admitted folks aren’t better off than they were four years ago.

At this point, Obama has little of record to recommend him — but some voters still express the sentiment that they’ll support him just because he seems to have it a little more together than the Republican candidates who are fumbling over each other. But as this video should remind viewers, he doesn’t have it more together. With no primary to fight, he has just managed to avoid intense electoral scrutiny for the time being. Fortunately, the RNC has the luxury to attack Obama while the GOP candidates make their case to Iowa caucus-goers — and, with this video, the RNC finally did. Let’s hope there’s more of this to come from the RNC and the eventual GOP nominee.

Oh my! Next thing you know the RNC will send Obama a harshly worded letter!!

This is what the RNC considers hard hitting? LOL. Obama’s going to cruise to re-election.

This man is not your run of the mill democrat, he is a man out to destroy this Nation as we know it to be. He is Anti-American, Anti-God, Anti-Gun, Anti-Christian, Anti-Jewish, Anti-pro-business, Anti-freedom of hardworking men/women’s rights, …. He is pro-Big Government, Pro-Communist, and Pro-Socialist ….. so let’s stop with the nice words and call him what he really is..

Those who voted for Obamuh the first time will vote for him, again. They couldn’t care less whether or not he’s kept any promises.

They will vote for him, again – precisely for the same reason that they voted for him the first time – because he’s a Communist … and so are they.

Obama promised to destroy our country , it’s economy, it’s history, it’s traditions and it’s prosperity. He called it

He has kept all his promises.

I thought it was a pretty good ad. Using well known democrats to deliver the message is effective.

Obama isn’t an unknown, blank slate any more. He has 3 years of lousy performance to account for, and there’s plenty of ammunition and sound bites to use against him. I hope the eventual nominee has the wherewithal to use them.

Yeah, what’s up with that anyway? If that was a hard hitting RNC ad we’re dead in the water. I want to hear how Obama has been a Socialist all his life and show the stuff he has shoved down our throats already. I want an ad highlighting the Marxist thugs like Green Czar Van Jones that he is cozy with. I want video of him touting transparency and showing the obfuscation, secrecy and cover ups his administration is famous for. I want a video of him saying ” If you want to know who I am, look at who I surround myself with” and then do a roll call of the thugs, punks, criminals and Communists all around him. I want a special ad highlighting
Eric Holder’s refusal to prosecute voter intimidation by New Black Panthers and voter fraud by ACORN followed by his attacks on states wanting voter ID laws!

I want all of this and it’s not asking too much. He11, if I can come up with that in 5 minutes the pros should be able to paint him clearly for the empty suit, lying, disgrace that he is!!

Yes, the ad could have been more hard-hitting, but it does highlight the confusion among the leftards who thought that unbridled socialism would fly here. It’s a pleasure seeing them with that egg all over their faces.

More effort, however, must be put into pointing out zer0′s lies and misrepresentations, his general incompetence and disdain for the people of this nation. There’s a mother lode of material just waiting to be mined, and this is no time to be pulling punches.

OhEssYouCowboys on January 3, 2012 at 4:34 PM

When I lived in the Bay Area (25 years ago), some family types were complaining about ‘some members of the bans spelling out the beginning letters of a profanity’ and members publicly urinating on the field.

I poo-pooed it. Being from the South, I assumed marching bands were the most disciplined student organizations on campus.

Then I attended a game where the Stanford band played, and I understood all the complaints. Stanford is proud of their band’s lack of discipline, the randomness of their formations, their ability to play the song song well musically while facing any direction and performing any action they darn well please. I can believe anything of their band if it demonstrates poor taste. When no one answers for inappropriate behavior, what’s to keep them from doing it?

I’m sorry to the OSU family for their poor taste. Apparently it is the Stanford way to push the envelope–even if the direction is down. And I’m sorry that an entire university looks like it is proud of the cretins who will not be publicly reprimanded–even in the age of YouTube, students have a right to privacy regarding any discipline resulting from their personal conduct, as Stanford students are guaranteed to know.
