Obamateurism of the Day

posted at 8:05 am on January 2, 2012 by Ed Morrissey

We’re back for another year of OOTDs, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to skip the candidates from the holidays. Tina Korbe caught the implications of Barack Obama’s 89th and 90th rounds of golf on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day (the 26th) — because when the President takes a day off on the links, it means other people have to work. Over to Melissa Clouthier:

Well, the big deal is that a bunch of Marines had to work–blocking roads and doing other miscellaneous security detail–instead of being home with their families.

Here are some of the comments from the wives of these men. (I am not going to include the link to this page, nor am I going to include names, because I don’t want anyone in trouble. I do, however, have the screen shot and have copy and pasted the comments verbatim.) …

“Because he’s here, I didn’t get to see my husband all weekend, on our baby girl’s first Christmas, so he can have his vacation. So when I can’t get to my house because he wants to play golf it just adds insult to injury and yeah, gets on my nerves. I agree that it’s a sensitive subject for some of us who are more [a]ffected by his being here.” …

I was so angry! They blocked off my driveway… -_-”

“It takes him forever to play too because he isn’t good at it either lol!”

Why not spend Christmas Eve with the family?

Got an Obamateurism of the Day? If you see a foul-up by Barack Obama, e-mail it to me at obamaisms@edmorrissey.com with the quote and the link to the Obamateurism. I’ll post the best Obamateurisms on a daily basis, depending on how many I receive. Include a link to your blog, and I’ll give some link love as well. And unlike Slate, I promise to end the feature when Barack Obama leaves office.

This is something of a shock. After 90 frigging rounds of golf, you would think this guy should be right up there with Arnold Palmer.

I made a new hastag in honor of the upcoming historic event, Obama’s 100th golf game. We’re currently at 92 and if he is true to last year he might just sneak in another round before he departs Hawaii today.

There are prizes, King Putt or Putts pictures, and the ever popular King Putt Putter.

Besides, there’s no actual proof that the King ØBlama knew what had to be done to ease his access to the course of golfing games. Like the King ØBlama has ever been a Plebe! My goodness! What a laugh!

The King ØBlama made sure that they got paid and that he spent some holiday time near them, didn’t he? Where’s the gratitude for The King’s ØBlama’s largesse?

This whole “golf” thing gives perfect profiling of the hypocrisy of the medias multi-decade of being in the tank for the Democratic party. Contrast the LameStreamMedia’s attitude towards what appears to be a Golf marathon and who they pilloried for playing any Golf in the past. Funny it was only Presidents that had a small “r” after their name that are deemed not worthy of playing the game. This started with Eisenhower (who was incidentally defined as a “peace time” president who only had domestic issues to consider), the editorial boards railed against him as taking the Presidency too trivially and of late criticized Bush W for neglecting things in a time of War. BTW the war stuff is still going on….so why the casual attitude towards what appears to be a true obsession at the countries expense?

Every time President Obama and the family head off to Hawaii for Christmas I remember what the Bushes did (both 41 and 43). They always spent Christmas at Camp David because it is already staffed 365/24/7 and it gave the Washington D.C. staff the opportunity to be with their families over the holidays. The Obamas would NEVER be so thoughtful, it’s all about them and their vacations and their convenience and the heck with the “little people.”

Golf Balls

The distribution of balls seems to slightly more of a problem with the administration’s opponents. Although if my group took off, we could get a hold of his balls and probably get his attention quickly. But back to the right’s ball deficit…

In all of the debates I have been waiting for a question about this. Checking for their presence in issues such as immigration, the deficit, nitty gritty attacks on unemployment and even trade imbalances has not been done.

Only The Donald has his own golf course and shows his big supply off. Unfortunately, he is not running and seems to want to write books on the same things he should be telling us about for nothing while attempting to save the nation.

Skating around (thanks for the rink work, Donald) the spotlight while posing as a “Patriot” requires a good measure of our little friends.

I hope nobody is offended. I know this can be a sensitive area for me. People have kicked me in the area of discussion with all their might. I wouldn’t wish that on any of our leaders. And I am usually insensitive.
