No, it’s just that times are so turbulent I have no idea who the next president might be, it may be somebody I’ve never heard of by the time it’s over. I think most Americans are somewhere in the middle between Palin and Ron Paul, however, which is why the tea party was so effective and why I think the two would be a strong ticket together if they could reach a compromise. I’ve mentioned the possibility a few times before over the years so I suppose you could call it a prediction of sorts, even though it is actually more of a suggestion.

The epicenter was, I believe, in Tochigi Prefecture, north of Tokyo, but I’m south of Yokohama, and it was still quite a “moving” experience even here. The house was a rockin’.

I was apparently wrong about the epicenter also. I was listening to one of the Japanese news people and she mentioned Tochigi. They may have just been talking about what level of magnitude was felt there. I can tell you that it got my attention right away here in Kanagawa prefecture.

Problem is most people don’t realize it since they fall for the caricature of her instead of doing their homework. If she ran, she’d educate them by bypassing the media to speak directly to them.

I disagree. On many issues Ron Paul is the wisest candidate in the race and he’s the only one with a credible plan to balance the budget in his first term, which I think should required of all the candidates if they want to be taken seriously.

I’m not generally the type to use litmus tests but, considering today’s (err… yesterday’s) events, I won’t be voting for a candidate for any office that supports the NDAA. Specifically Sections 1021 and 1022.

I don’t care about Rumpelstiltskin’s domestic ideas since his foreign policy is so radical and dangerous to our well being it trumps everything else.

The most important job of the President is national defense, protecting our security. Allowing Iran to get the bomb, hanging Israel out to dry, and cutting our defense 40-50% while we face dangerous threats is asinine.

I hope many, many more public figures ask that question of the president – as forcefully as Christie did — in the new year. No longer will I let the media escape blame for the part they have played in this country’s destruction.

Every opportunity we are given we should point out their lies and hypocrisy, through letters to the editor, blogs, forums, Facebook and Twitter.

If we hit them hard enough in the pocketbook, by contacting their advertisers and let them know we will no longer purchase their goods and services as long as they continue to support the falsehoods of the media, maybe then the media will get it.

I heard on the news this morning that he plans to run a “not of Washington campaign”. What the firetruck?! Purely as a spectator (wish that was possible) this ought to be fascinating, just how is the media going to paint this picture? Do they seem capable of that kind of nuance or are they just going to go with bald faced lies and say “What?” when people call them on it? Or is the GOP going to decide to be so “nice” (reads stupid) that no one will push back?

Obviously 2012 will focus on the pending election, at least for some. But does anyone think it will make a difference? Are we already doomed?

OK, I grant you the reelection of Obama will only push the pedal to the floor as the car we ride in launches itself over the cliff, but will electing … insert candidate name here… really make a difference?

Even if said candidate would be willing or even if it were possible at all to slam on the breaks, the law of economic physics says this car is going over a cliff. Ain’t no tire made or baricade built that can stop this overpriced Studebaker from breaching the great unknown and dropping like the 16 trillion pound dead weight that it is…

So, why waste time arguing about which candidate might press on the break harder, or which one is going to turn the steering wheel which direction, or which one will drive more conservatively?

Does it really matter?

Once you realize that control of the car is gone and no longer possible, why argue about who is going to jump into the driver seat? Usually in an accident, there isn’t time to switch drivers anyway…

Besides, Obama will make sure there won’t be anything left to drive.
