Video: Obama loves him some Jon Corzine

posted at 6:45 pm on December 14, 2011 by Tina Korbe

This new video from the Republican National Committee fills the woeful gaps left by MSM reporters in their coverage of the MF Global scandal and Jon Corzine’s connection to it. As Ed has pointed out, most major news outlets have taken care to not mention Corzine’s close connection to Obama. Not only is the guy a Democrat and an Obama fundraiser, but he also lobbied against the tougher regulatory enforcement that would have caught the MF Global fraud. Recently, Obama even made Corzine his liaison to Wall Street for his reelection effort. Corzine was also — as this spot makes clear — the first person Obama and Biden called when they began to craft an economic recovery plan. As the RNC puts it, “No wonder the stimulus didn’t work.”

Don’t forget, Corzine was the step up from Franklin Raines, who had to be dumped aside back in the election.

Is it just me, or has Jon Corzine aged twenty years in five?

carbon_footprint on December 14, 2011 at 6:52 PM

The connection: Corzine was in charge when a billion private dollars were wasted and Obama was in charge when many billions of public dollars were wasted! Birds of a feather indeed.

Great video. That needs to go viral.

John Corzine is everything that’s wrong with capitalism, Obama is everything that is wrong with democracy. Our system can only be as strong as its human inputs.

The genius is not their crime(s), it’s how they manage to keep getting away with it. All the while having no problems finding / keeping supporters.

Mind boggling.

What happen with Corzine has nothing to do with Capitalism. Fraud and theft are not part of the voluntary exchange for mutual benefit.

This is what I’m talkin’ about!

Make Biden and Obama choke on their own words.

Please keep it up RNC.

Good ad. They could have cut down on Biteme and included Obozo campaigning for Corzine. It would have cut deeper.

jeffinsjvca on December 14, 2011 at 7:21 PM

Great point to this ad, but not terribly compelling. Like so many great Republican talking points, they are only as effective as the size and scope of the audience.

None of the people I work with has ever heard of MF Global.

I fear for our nation.

In a just world, Corzine would trussed like a pig in the trunk of Paulie Walnuts’ Caddy headed for the Barrens.

In a just world, Biden would be just another loudmouth nobody paid attention to at the paint factory where he worked.

In a just world, Obama would have just been denied tenure for the third time.

In a just world, we wouldn’t have to be trying to parse the difference between two worthless RINOs vying for the Republican nomination.

In words of Butters: “Aw, hamburgers.”

Great video, but they should have added clips of corzine’s testimony where he’s saying he didn’t know/was unaware of what was going on at the company he was the head of.

I ask myself this all the time-can anyone name one mutual friend of Obama who would be considered as a person of integrity and an American patriot? Just one.

Agree – Start with Obama & JC, then only one Biteme clip, then his testimony during the congressional hearing and try to make it a 30 sec clip .

Um, not so fast.
We elected CC………..a most stupendously fabulous Governor. And we flipped several seats.

True, NJ has an image problem. And we’ve had some of the slimiest Governors….Corzine was problably the worst.

But it’s a new day, and a new sheriff is in town. Governor Christie is the NEW face of New Jersey. I cannot tell you how much we love this man……so no one say ANYTHING negative about him…they’s fightin words round here.
Corzine is a slut for the unions.

maubman on December 14, 2011 at 8:47 PM

“No wonder the stimulus didn’t work.”

Did “Sheriff Joe” happen to check Corzine’s pockets. Couple BILLION in “Stimulus Funds” may have gotten lost in there. Or maybe Corzine “forgot” the money was there.

GarandFan on December 14, 2011 at 8:59 PM

Birds of a feather. Liberalism is a highly corrupting ideology.

SteveThomas on December 14, 2011 at 9:18 PM

Here is the scariest thing, Corzine was the most qualified member of the Obama economic team. Little Timmy Geithner was struggling to figure out his Schedule D, Romer was giggling her way through another meeting, Goolsbee was trying out for GQ and Biden was trying to find speeches from other politicians to make himself sound fresh.

“So I picked up the phone, literally, I picked up the phone and called Jon Corzine. And I asked him if he knew where, literally, he might be able to scrounge up, say $600 million bucks for our re-election. And you know what Jon Corzine told me? He said yes. Literally. Yes. And I told him to meet me at my favorite restaurant in Wilmington, Katie’s.”

Other than on Hot Air does anyone ever see these videos by the Republican National Committee?

Do they air them on prime time TV?

albill on December 15, 2011 at 6:28 AM

corzine is a pillar of ethics compared to most of this regime’s administration and czars.

he only screwed the people of NJ and the fools that investing in MF global. you don’t have to live in NJ or invest in MF global.

the regime has screwed us all. unless you want to move to some other country you just have to bend over and take it.

Long after the fact, we are learning that this man was and has been a poor business man for years and it was well know in the investment community. Why then did the media not inform us of those facts before he was elected to responsible positions and now put in supportive positions by the President and Vice President? It makes one think that perhaps the media could be doing a better job of shining light on the past life of all those mentioned in this post for we still know very, very little about the details of our President’s past life.
