Kermit Gosnell’s wife pleads guilty to assisting at his abortion shop of horrors

posted at 4:30 pm on December 13, 2011 by Tina Korbe

The story of Kermit Gosnell is, perhaps, one that even well-meaning people would prefer to block out of their minds. After all, as a Philadelphia grand jury report put it, to talk of Gosnell is to talk of “a doctor who killed babies and endangered women.” Recall this most sickening habit of his: Gosnell would purposely induce the premature births of babies and then “snip” the spines of those premature — but living, breathing, viable — little persons to, as he put it, “ensure fetal demise.” In four decades, Gosnell killed hundreds and hundreds of babies in this way, collecting their severed feet in jars as evidence of his evil.

Gosnell was chiefly responsible for the wickedness perpetrated in his abortion shop of horrors, but he didn’t operate alone. As Michelle Malkin put it, Gosnell was helped in his hideous enterprise by “a crew of unlicensed, untrained butchers masquerading as noble providers of women’s ‘choice.’”

Among them: his wife, Pearl Gosnell, who has now pleaded guilty to assisting at the corrupt abortion clinic — a clinic that the grand jury described as “a filthy fraud in which [Gosnell] overdosed his patients with dangerous drugs, spread venereal disease among them with infected instruments, perforated their wombs and bowels – and, on at least two occasions, caused their deaths.”

According to LifeNews.com, Pearl was charged with participating in an illegal late-term abortion, conspiracy and being part of a corrupt organization. Previously, she had considered “a plea deal similar to the one several of Gosnell’s former abortion center employees have made [in which] they have pleaded guilty to receive a lesser sentence in exchange for testifying against Gosnell.” But it appears Pearl — who by law cannot be made to speak out against her husband — has opted simply to plead guilty and remain silent during his trial. That means, I’m assuming, she’ll likely accept a longer sentence than she would if she’d testify.

Silence was a necessary condition for Gosnell’s death mill to flourish. As has been well documented, state governmental failure was and is an ominous element of the Gosnell story. Gosnell’s practice was about criminal activity, yes, but, whatever folks might say to the contrary, it was also about abortion. Put simply: Gosnell was more easily able to perpetrate his crimes because of an abortion-accepting “culture of death” that has inured officials to the need to vigilantly protect life.

It’s apparent that nobody has ever used any sandpaper on your sharp edges.

I approve.

My gosh! Your right! The monster IS no longer doing any abortions.

According to Nancy Pelosi, that means their are dead women lying on floors all over Philadelphia!

Horace mis-use “your” and “their” in same post. Horace bad.

I really appreciate Hot Air and Michelle Malkin keeping this story alive. I haven’t heard / read anything on it since early this year, and have been hoping for some heavy handed justice (as much as can be dealt by Pennsylvanians). As far as I’m concerned, the death penalty would be too kind for this monster, Kermit.

I took about 2 1/2 hours to read the actual indictment back in January.

Take the time to read it, if you dare. I think even the most ardent pro-choicer would find this “doctor’s” actions vomit worthy. I cried for these victims (not just the babies or the murder victims, but the actual survivors that have to live the rest of their lives maimed and sterile). The rest of the trolls can go pound sand as far as I’m concerned.

God will sort them out. And there won’t be any plea-bargaining.

TheClearRiver on December 13, 2011 at 8:30 PM

No words strong enough to describe what I’d like to do to these people. At least they would have a chance to defend themselves. The right to abortion and its purpose is SUCH A LIE!

This is BY FAR the biggest mass-murder in American history. And it’s being shoved down the Memory Hole real time.
logis on December 13, 2011 at 5:47 PM

Well, they might TRY to shove it down the memory hole but it won’t work.

Hotair and other blogs are more than just a place to talk. Things that show up here are recorded. And as long as we have the quality of bloggers and commenters that we currently have, evil like this will never get away from the light. And that is as it should be.
platypus on December 13, 2011 at 7:49 PM

Of course I’m not saying that the liberal media are capable of
magically erasing this knowledge from the memory of every single human being on planet earth.

It is being erased from the public consciousness — what Goebbels referred to as the zeitgeist. And in the propaganda war, that is all that ever matters.

Hideous, disgusting, filthridden, soulless animals. They should be treated as such.

And….

How about death by spine-clipping? These mutants deserve the death penalty.

You and I had the same thought. Just one problem… it would be over too fast.

I remember watching a sci-fi movie years ago about a time in the far, far future where those found guilty of a crime would be forced to relive the crime… from the victim’s perspective… every half hour during the entire time they were in prison. Sounded like perfect justice to me at the time.

But then, maybe that’s what Hell is like…

The premise of abortion is that a fetus is not a human being, and upon this rotten foundation the entire edifice of Planned Parenthood has risen.

spiritof61 on December 13, 2011 at 7:33 PM

While its a premise, it is just assumed to be correct. A simple DNA test would confirm that a fetus is completely human.

But how can you argue with someone who KNOWS the answer, REFUSES to consider the answer, and yet continues to REPEAT the lie?

I have a high school friend who works as a medical researcher who tried to argue that science was greater than faith in God, yet ignored science when we got into arguments over abortion. I now have a VERY negative view of scientists.

dominigan on December 14, 2011 at 11:34 AM

All these people are heroes to leftists. I love the irony of them being forced to stay so completely silent about it though. They have a total stranglehold on the press in this country and yet can’t say a single word of praise aloud to support this filth.

There is a God.

Is there any other species where the young, before birth, are consistently referred to as something other than what they are? Are dogs called something other than puppies? How about foals, fawns, ducklings, etc.? Abortionists strive hard to classify babies as fetuses, and want to use that word for as long as possible, because by saying fetus, they can desensitize the conversation. They sterilize the language, because ‘evacuating the fetus from the uterus’ isn’t as horrifying as ‘performing a conceivably dangerous operation in which the baby is forcefully ejected or extracted from inside of your uterus and is killed, either during the process and immediately before completely exiting the body’. This is why they will forcefully correct you or attempt to make the conversation about terminology.

Previously, she had considered “a plea deal similar to the one several of Gosnell’s former abortion center employees have made [in which] they have pleaded guilty to receive a lesser sentence in exchange for testifying against Gosnell.”

Why, why offer any of these murderers a plea deal? They knew exactly what was going on at all times and continued to work and keep gosnell’s shop of horrors secret.

RiCkY.D. on December 14, 2011 at 2:45 PM

Just what we have been missing, “The Face” of women’s choice. How about this on a tee shirt…”woman who chose to murder babies”.

StevC on December 14, 2011 at 5:00 PM

Wouldn’t that actually be the most responsible thing to do, under those circumstances?

theodore on December 13, 2011 at 5:27 PM

Actually finding a good home for the child makes more sense.

CW on December 13, 2011 at 5:58 PM

This story, as well as the ones where the mom kills her kids for some stupid reason, like the boyfriend didn’t want kids always breaks my heart. As someone who was not able to have children, I always want to say to these women, there is someone who will love that child.
