Holder a little testy over that whole, “why don’t you resign” thing

posted at 10:05 am on November 30, 2011 by Jazz Shaw

Eric Holder has had enough of you peasants asking pesky questions about whether or not he should remain in his job as Attorney General and he’s not going to take it any more. Further, his unique investigative skills as a law enforcement expert have been put to good use and helped him identify where all of these nasty rumors are coming from… the reporters at The Daily Caller.

Embattled Attorney General Eric Holder today demanded The Daily Caller stop publishing articles about the growing calls in Congress for his resignation because of the failed Operation Fast and Furious gun-walking program.

Apparently Holder was finishing up some remarks at the White House this week when one of the DC’s reporters asked him to comment on the growing chorus of calls for him to step down. His reaction was spirited, to say the least.

Holder stepped towards the exit, then turned around, stepped back toward the reporter, and sternly said, “You guys need to — you need to stop this. It’s not an organic thing that’s just happening. You guys are behind it.”

Really? Either Holder is oblivious to much of his surroundings or the Daily Caller has become one heck of a lot more influential in terms of directing the actions of Congress and the entire nation than I’d ever imagined. If they have managed to twist the arms of 51 members of Congress and three presidential candidates to the point where they’ve called for him to step down, they may as well just be running the government at this point. (Say… I wonder if they can do anything about getting me a lower rate on my mortgage?)

It’s an arrogant display to say the least. “Testy” hardly begins to describe it. You can listen to the encounter below with this clip, courtesy of the DC.

roy_batty on November 30, 2011 at 10:22 AM

Why is the DC hassling him ?
All he did was send 2,000 guns to Mexican drug cartels.
Is that some sort of crime now…?

NeoKong on November 30, 2011 at 10:23 AM

Eric Holder reads the Daily Caller but doesn’t bother to read the memos that state

“Mr. Holder, we trafficked guns across the border and one of our Border Patrol agents was just killed by one of them, and oh by the way, so have been about 200 Mexicans. –yours truly, ATF”

ted c on November 30, 2011 at 10:23 AM

If Holder stays, it’ll be because he followed Hoover’s example and made sure he had plenty of dirt on everybody else too.

I call for his imprisonment. Resignation doesn’t suffice for crimes of murder, conspiracy and possibly treason. Supplying those guns to the cartels probably qualifies.

It’s too bad more so-called news outlets don’t start asking questions. A few more and this guy and O’s administration would be toast. The fall of the MSM is about to commence. We all need to write to Holder and ask him why he doesn’t resign. It’s a perfectly ligitament question.

With respect, I disagree. A dangerously bad public official should always be encouraged to resign (or be kicked out by his superior if possible), regardless of perceived political advantages or disadvantages to this or that party.

Further, an actual departure of Holder would, finally, force the MSM to cover the story (with a small number of exceptions, they’re burying it). And Obama certainly would NOT get a free ride at a Senate confirmation hearing for a replacement. Those are exactly the reasons, of course, why Obama will never, never ask for Holder’s resignation.

MY question is not “Why don’t you resign” but rather “Why isn’t holder IN JAIL” after having been proven to have committed PERJURY before Congress in testifying about ‘Fast and Furious’?! Crime continues to go unpunished in Washington because politicians are afraid that an act of ‘accountability’ might actually SPREAD and actually be applied to themselves!

Actually, Holder’s still in a neck-and-neck race with Ramsey Clark for the title of “Most Anti-American Attorney General in U.S. History,” though to be fair to Ramsey, he did most of his damage after leaving office.

Del Dolemonte on November 30, 2011 at 10:13 AM

A lot of people don’t understand how long this has been going on. American Communist propaganda has turned their opponent’s very NAME into a dirty word.

Every allegation that Joseph McCarthy made was not only credible and warranted but also completely TRUE. As the Venona tapes proved, all of the people he accused of collaborating with Soviet agents were in fact doing precisely that.

Almost no one today has the faintest clue what the actual facts were behind the rabid, mindless screams of “McCarthiesm!” used to quell any criticism of collectivist dogma. And very few even care. Joining the angry mob just feels too damned good.

I think Holder was blaming not just The Daily Caller, but the new media in general. It must be terribly frustrating to be held to account by all these uppity new media guys, when the old media was always so accommodating.

You’re toast, Holder. Sooner or later, the bear is going to eat you.

I agree, Eric Holder shouldn’t resign. He needs to be in an orange jumpsuit at a federal prison somewhere. Too bad that even if he were to be convicted by some miracle, he would be at one of those “country club” prisons.

Mind-boggling. The Wash Times does an article on the case, the US Attorney then moves to have the case sealed, and the judge does seal it, as well as his ruling on the motion. So now there will be no more access, and no explanation as to why it was sealed.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/nov/22/armed-illegals-stalked-border-patrol/?page=all#pagebreak

Not hard to understand why Obama and Holder would want the case sealed.

The perps were apparently patrolling the area and ready to engage Border Patrol. They didn’t appear to be transporting anything, but maintaining control over the area. A couple of them were apparently carrying their rifles in the “ready” position, which suggests they had some level of combat training or experience.

Holder’s reaction to the DC’s question suggests a level of paranoia and detachment from reality. How could he rationally believe at this point that inquiries about calls for his resignation by dozens of elected representatives and several presidential nomination candidates aren’t newsworthy? he is apparently starting to lose his grip on the realities, so we can expect his conduct may become increasingly irrational as time goes on.

novaculus on November 30, 2011 at 12:56 PM

Petulant, childish, little douche who’s in way over his head.

I wouldn’t want this hack helping me fight a parking ticket, yet he runs the DOJ.

But I guess if a freshman senator from the most corrupt city in the US – who’s longest “job” was “community organiser” – and who palled around with an admitted and unapolegetic terrorist can become president…….well, you get the point.

Tim_CA on November 30, 2011 at 1:01 PM

Have any of you seen this at Drudge?

Mirimichi on November 30, 2011 at 12:35 PM

Yup.

The Obama Administration has abruptly sealed court records containing alarming details of how Mexican drug smugglers murdered a U.S. Border patrol agent with a gun connected to a failed federal experiment that allowed firearms to be smuggled into Mexico.

Fallon on November 30, 2011 at 1:14 PM

Of course Holder doesn’t want to resign over faithfully following orders from the Obamination. IMO congressmen should be demanding Obama’s impeachment. Holder should then just commit hari kari.

Chessplayer on November 30, 2011 at 1:59 PM

“You guys need to — you need to stop this. It’s not an organic thing that’s just happening. You guys are behind it.”

If someone at DOJ or ATF had said this about F&F itself, we might not have a dead agent and 200 dead Mexican citizens.

DrSteve on November 30, 2011 at 2:17 PM

Hey, you know what else is “not an organic thing [that just happened],” Mr. Holder? The reversal of a summary judgment against the New Black Panther Party in the DOJ’s voter intimidation case against it.

It is often said in sports media that a team that fails in the final moments of a game has “yanked defeat from the jaws of victory.” There has never been a greater example of that than the NBPP case.

Jeddite on November 30, 2011 at 10:08 AM

Hold on a second. Incompetence only proves misfeasance. It means the public official does not have the requsite understanding to adequately perform his duties. In Holder’s case he is not incompetent. He is a master at deception and obfuscation. In other words, he fully understands the actions he is taking. That is called MALFEASANCE and it is a criminal offense.
