Media pretty excited about Perry flubbing voting age at New Hampshire event
posted at 5:40 pm on November 29, 2011 by Allahpundit
Three pages of stories and counting already at Google News. When the news is slow and the “Perry is confused” meme is already in place, even a simple harmless misstatement like this can get blanket coverage. For the record, election day is on November 6 next year, not November 12. And of course, thanks to the 26th Amendment, the voting age is 18 — in all 57 states.

Blowback

Thanks for checking in Mrs. Perry.

Not being a Perry supporter is probably closer to the truth as to why you are calling him a troll.

Thank you. It had to be said.

Give him a break. When he was young, he had to wait until he was 21 to be able to vote.

Whatever destroys Perry saves America.

Couldn’t…not…watch…it. So painful.

I just hope there’s no bimbo eruption ahead for Jaden Huntsman. I don’t figure him for a playa, but you never know how many hearts he’s broken. Would be a shame.

That could be, it changed during my high school years, just before the Nixon-McGovern contest. Of course, it wasn’t much of a contest, lol.

Perry?

To nitpick the grammar, it should be “I wish he were correct”.
At any rate, poor Rick – he can’t even buy a break.

Thank you, Capt. Pedantic, for today’s lesson in the subjunctive mood.

Aach. So he came of voting age at 21 and that’s his frame of reference. Big deal. The msm needs to be more focused on the financial doom dead ahead and how the establishment on both sides of the aisle got us here. And cover the real issues that can help turn this ship around.
If I were Perry, I’d claim a Mulligan due to the msm giving Oboobi a bye time after time. Until they take their job seriously, just shrug them off as partisan hacks posing as objective reporters.

Heh – I mangle da language with the best (worst?) of ‘em. But some things, such as was/were, kinda stick out like the “proverbial thumb”. However, I also had something of substance to add to the commenter’s actual content. So the “proverbial finger” I got was only half called-for.
:D

Still not getting your facts straight.
Alaska is the largest state – 570,374 sq land miles. Texas is second with 261,914 sq land miles, while Cali comes in third with only 155,973 sq land miles.

Hey, at least the voting age used to be 21.
There have never been 57 states, Mister President.
