Video: Fallon sandbags Bachmann with “Lyin’ Ass Bitch” intro music; Update: It was “tongue in cheek,” says drummer; Update: Endorsed … Jon Corzine

posted at 3:21 pm on November 22, 2011 by Allahpundit

Submitted for your disapproval, in case you haven’t already seen the clip elsewhere. Compare and contrast with the Fishbone original. The dumbest part of this, of course, is the drummer tweeting about it to make sure everyone got “the joke,” which defeats the purpose of disguising the insult. If you know the media’s going to be buzzing about it tomorrow, why not just call Bachmann a “lyin’ ass bitch” to her face? At least that way she’d get to defend herself and the show wouldn’t look like it’s stabbing her in the back.

A Twitter user asked the drummer last night, “you don’t think indirectly calling a guest on your show a ‘bitch’ might blow up in your face? & maybe it should? (I’m a democrat)”. Here was the response. Fallon himself tweeted a few hours ago that the drummer is “grounded” but we’ll have to wait ’til tonight’s show to find out if that means anything more than “please stop yelling at me about Bachmann.”

Two clips here, one of the intro and the other, via the Right Scoop, of Beck recounting his chat with Bachmann last night and her telling him what a nice time she had.

Update: See, it was a joke. Get it?

“The performance was a tongue-in-cheek and spur of the moment decision. The show was not aware of it and I feel bad if her feelings were hurt. That was not my intention,” Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson said in a statement…

Thompson is a known supporter of President Obama and has contributed to his campaign. His Twitter account features a photograph of the drummer with the president.

Update: Via reader Andy K., instant karma’s gonna get you.

Cowardly way to make a point.

If Fallon doesn’t stomp this sexist and probably racist musician in a very public way, he’s tacitly endorsing it.

Where’s NOW?

Darksean on November 22, 2011 at 3:24 PM

Well Fallon’s show is on NBC. Is anyone shocked by this? And the drummer’s right, BTW. Nothing’s gonna happen to him. David Gregory made that “grand wizard” remark and didn’t even get a slap on the wrist for chrissakes!

Inviting someone to your party not because you like them, but to make fun of them and entertain yourself and your friends.

Civility.

Classy guy that drummer. Soooo, if he can call Bachmann a b*tch, can she call him a certain racially charged word in return? (No, she never would nor should she.) Just stating the obvious hypocrisy of Liberals.

I would have played “Angie Baby” by Helen Reddy.

I liked him on SNL and was thus shocked at how bad his show is. There’s rarely any original comedy bits (if there is, they suck)– all they do is play games. Basically they have audience members play Bozo Buckets and call it a late night show.

That’s a load of BS. Did they attempt anything like this when Cain went on all these shows? Hell, even after the sexual harassment stuff surfaced, Kimmel and Letterman both treated him with respect when he was their guest. I don’t wanna play the sexist card, but I have a hard time picturing this sort of thing occurring with a male politician.

I think she expects to do what she’s always done, evangelize conservatism to new audiences and spread the word. She’s a fighter and reformer, which is why the establishment despises her so much.

FloatingRock on November 22, 2011 at 3:46 PM

Well I can’t really watch his show any less than I do now. I didn’t even know he had one to be honest. I have to agree with others that any conservative should expect to be savaged on shows like this, but they are desperately trying to get their message out even if they do little more than preach abstinence in a whorehouse.

Extrafishy on November 22, 2011 at 3:47 PM

(And, these postings are a bit hard to read for someone whose nom de plum is Fallon… Yikes!)

Fallon on November 22, 2011 at 4:03 PM

In a perfect world, Bachmann would bait the little coward into inviting her back, so Ahmir Khalib can show women everywhere how a real man acts.

MNHawk on November 22, 2011 at 4:07 PM

I listened twice to that intro music, and none of the words were intelligible, so Bachmann probably naively thought it was just a meaningless rap beat. Only those who know the title of the song would make the connection that Fallon or his drummer were calling Bachmann a “lyin-@$$ b!+ch”, which were probably more numerous in a young, late-night audience than among the conservative crowds Bachmann speaks to on the campaign trail.

So Fallon got a chance to insult Bachmann through that song without Bachmann knowing she was insulted. A low blow!!!

Why couldn’t Fallon have played a clip from “Michelle, Ma Belle” by the Beatles? Or is that reserved for the other Michelle (Obama)?

What these Socialist pissants really resent is that Bachmann is Conservative AND a babe. They’d much prefer that Fallon ogle over a Chastity [yes, Chastity is STILL a female - genetically, that is] Bono type, so he and his band could show how they embrace all – except, that is … Conservative women who are babes.

Chalk this one up to just another example of the hypocrisy of the Left – sure, they want women to stand up, think for themselves and be recognized … unless, of course, they are Conservative and babes.

I didn’t think that my hatred for the Left could get any more virulent – but, each new day serves to fertilize.

Hey, I’m at the library. No Internet for a week. Had a big fire at my place; it was on the TV news. Lots of stuff burned but I was able to run away from a lot of exploding canisters/shrapnel, etc. Living in the house now with a generator; the back half’s scorched & the Fire Dept. took the power meter off the house so now it’s a question of finding an electrician to come to the house. Been trying now for a week but no luck so far :-(

So keep on vetting the candidates & maybe at some point I’ll be able to log back in. Have to go now because a big storm’s coming and I have to get the rest of my tools out of the ashes, or else I’ll be digging through mud to find them.

Take care,

The difference between Fallon and Conan O’Brien is that Conan was clearly targeting a 12 year old audience so he used more potty jokes, and Fallon functioning as an interviewer is not quite as rude and ungracious as Conan. But both are lame; I found both shows became stale and repetitive very quickly…and both are ultimately unwatchable.

My first love is and always has been hard rock from the late 60s and 70s. But, I loved the R&B from the same period. Hell, I even loved some of the disco, too. Donna Summer had one of the best voices of them all. But … rap … it is pure, unadulterated trash. It’s all about talent … or the lack thereof.

As far as I’m concerned … rap went down the same road as punk – people who made far too much money with far too little musical and singing talent.

OhEssYouCowboys on November 22, 2011 at 5:07 PM
