Alan Colmes: What’s with these infiltrators causing violence at OWS events?
posted at 10:20 pm on November 18, 2011 by Allahpundit
Honestly, I can’t tell if he’s serious or not. Skip ahead to 1:55 of the first clip for his exchange with Andy Levy on last night’s “Red Eye,” with Levy making a nice point: How can any movement purporting to represent “the 99 percent” be “infiltrated” unless it’s rich people who are sneaking into the camps to do a little raping under cover of darkness? Then watch the second clip, via The Blaze, in which Colmes seems to abandon the “infiltrator” idiocy in favor of a don’t-judge-us-by-our-worst-elements ethic that the left never, ever applied to the tea party. Maybe, in the spirit of the show, he was joking on “Red Eye”? Or did someone e-mail him a copy of the OWS police blotter between that show last night and his appearance with Megyn Kelly today, such that even he realized the “infiltrator” crap just isn’t going to convince anyone anymore?
Before you watch, go have a look at Shepard Fairey’s latest experiment in creepy hagiography. I think the parallel he’s drawing is dead right: Liberals are bitterly disappointed that Obama hasn’t moved even further to the left than he already has, so now they’re latching onto a new icon that might get them there. This one will do considerably less for them than the last one did.

The left can’t be anything other than the left. It is never their fault that reality is different than their intentions.

Colmes is a lib-bot programmed to spew out talking points while grinning like a stoner who just opened up a closet filled with Doritos.
The guy’s not human. He’s got thousands of lame comebacks in that skeletor head of his.

I saw this the other night, he’s a total idiot most of the time, but last night he was actually not that obnoxious and he joked a lot…I took it that the ‘infiltration’ thing was a joke…he even sounded a little self-deprecating when he mentioned it…like he didn’t take himself seriously nor he expected anyone in the studio to take that idea seriously…anyways, my read…

Yeah, those old church ladies from Tea Party are having a blast defecating on the streets, having sex with louse-ridden turds wearing smart glasses, and stomping on the American flag. Oh yeah, they just love terrorizing little kids on the way to school too.
Shoot, you can’t believe anything you see on TV. Cartoons tell us villains are brilliant sinister fiends — or at least they do a plausible act. Alan, Alan, Alan. Monica married Dr. Smith.

The Left has now appointed a fictional character as their idol. They actually tried to do this with Obama, imputing other-worldly powers to a very earthbound (i.e., dirtbag) Chicago corruptocrat. Now they’ve simply gone “full fiction.” It just confirms the total degeneratative collapse we’ve all seen coming.
The best way to destroy the Left is to give them power. They’re now unraveling, true to form. The only problem is that they will destroy — or try to destroy — the rest of us in the process. As we’re seeing.

BTW, Congratulations to the Democrat Media for totally suppressing the “Grand Wizard” statement the NBC News dude uttered last week about Herman Cain. Dr. Goebbels would be proud of you folks.

The only reason that Alan Colmes has a job at Fox is so that he can spout the left wing line and get beat down by everyone.
Who knows what he really believes.
slp on November 19, 2011 at 12:11 AM
Alan Colmes…. What a douche bag!
Jack Deth on November 19, 2011 at 12:23 AM
Alan Colmes is inadequate as a real-life villain, cartoon villain, or Dr. Smith (so this isn’t completely OT).
Jonathan Harris realized early on that you couldn’t have a character so evil on the spaceship, who was constantly trying to kill the family. His character — and his job — would be killed off, unless changes were made. So he created the lazy, pompous, devious, but not so hate-able Dr. Smith. It worked and, despite its shortcomings, Lost in Space became beloved to a generation of fans.
I was a late-comer, enjoying it immensely in cable re-runs. Something of a guilty pleasure among peers, who didn’t get it or made inappropriate comparisons to Star Trek. Today I appreciate its unerring moral compass, always taking pains to show that honesty and hard work are rewarded, while sneakiness, laziness, and corner-cutting bring calamity.
Back on topic, Alan Colmes still sucks.
Feedie on November 19, 2011 at 12:25 AM
Colmes never lets himself be bothered by that hobgoblin of small minds, consistency. Straw men, apples and oranges, tu quoque, false premises, out and out falsehoods, interrupting and talking over people or simply raising his voice, it is all the same to Colmes. It is pretty obvious he doesn’t believe about half the crap he spews himself. Apparently that is what they pay him for. The truly pathetic thing is that he is about as good as the Left has to offer. The next best thing they have is Kirsten Powers, who is basically Colmes in drag, not as smart, just as divorced from reality, but less obnoxious. At least she is decorative.
novaculus on November 19, 2011 at 12:29 AM
Join the club. I find this true of most liberals. They run on emotion and become angry or disingenuous when confronted with facts. I find Colmes to be more than disingenuous and, like others, believe he’s playing a role. Even so, I don’t think most liberals even know what they believe themselves. They just feel good about themselves believing in the supposed benevolence of their substitute religion.

Skeletor meant what he said, Meant it at least as a rote gainsaying, a repetition of a miserable progressive trope, same as he ever does. It’s what made him such a boor and ratings killer on the show with Hannity. He’s a shameless, clueless whore for Liberalism, will say ANYTHING that the LLLib talking points require on any given day.
rayra on November 19, 2011 at 1:03 AM
What’s with all these OWS nutjobs shooting assault rifles at the white house?
Vegi on November 19, 2011 at 1:04 AM
In the old days, the liberals knew they were full of it. When William Simon was working for Reagan, he had to testify before Congress frequently. He wrote about the time he was grilled by Hubert Humphrey in a Senate Committee room, challenging facts which were well known and accepted by Democrats in the Senate for budgeting already, accusing him and Reagan of heartless and possibly illegal conduct. Simon was shocked because he thought he had a good working relationship with Humphrey.
On his way down the Capitol steps, he felt a tap on his shoulder. It was Humphrey. Hubert said, “Bill, I’m sorry, of course you are right but please understand that’s the politics of the situation.”
Today’s younger leftists never learned the critical thinking skills necessary to see through the rhetoric. They’ve been spoon-fed leftist dogma from childhood with no hint that another view even exists. They’ve been taught to ignore contrary facts and information, because “their” truth is just as valid as any objective fact. They’ve been schooled that anyone who doesn’t share the leftist ideology is a fascist enemy and should be shunned and avoided.
Adjoran on November 19, 2011 at 1:05 AM
Further, O’Reilly’s use of Colmes and Colmes’ SISTER-IN-LAW Monica Crowley for ‘opposing views’ is a complete travesty. The very model of sham debate, before they both share a taxi uptown for dinner with the wife/sister. I see that sham appear and my channel changes or the set goes off.

What a sad commentary on the state of the Democrat Party and how long it’s been that way. Even worse that the men of that day had a better moral framework, yet they did it anyway. Really awful.

Stopped watching O’Reilly some time after he dumped on the Swift Boat Veterans and his loofah business. Mr. Middle-of-the-Road is such a phony. I catch snatches of it for Dennis Miller or when Laura Ingraham subs.

Dishonest, and an air head to boot. He can’t seem to argue the merits, but only recite the talking points. Like Al Sharpton, he discredits any show that hosts him.
petefrt on November 19, 2011 at 1:53 AM
I’ve been unhappy with the ethical climate at Fox News for some time. The hiring of Huckabee crossed a line with me, and I absolutely refuse to watch him. His record in Arkansas, especially the suffering caused by his paroled thugs, should make him anathema to any serious operation. Such is corporatism that even Laura Ingraham must tarnish her image by on-air fraternizing with that skank.
I rely on Fox News a lot less than before. Scarecrows can be entertaining, but over-reliance on them debased the product.

Poor Alan Colmes, his favored OWSers can’t do as the Tea Party did and find infiltrators, surround them and PRAY FOR THEM to be better people. Which is garlic to the infiltrator vampires who then run far, far, far away from such decency.
Silence in the face of evil is aiding and abetting evil.
The Leftist collective spirit is doing just that and reaping its rewards and dehumanizing themselves still further.
This is how barbarians are made in western culture: taught barbaric attitudes, ignoring any movement to being charitable by oneself, and stopping evil by showing it, praying for it and driving it away. Mind you most of human history is set by the establishment of totalitarian empires to quelch barbarism by inflicting tyranny upon it. I wonder how Mr. Colmes feels about that?

I had a lefty relative try the “infiltrator” excuse on me. Presumably it’s going around Kos and those sorts of places. Sure are a hell of a lot of infiltrators, huh? And of course, nobody has infiltrated the Tea Party because they’re not threat to the Establishment. Which is why the Establishment calls the terrorists and hostage-takers. There’s really no point using logic with these guys.
Jim Treacher on November 19, 2011 at 7:44 AM
Lies within lies within lies . . . within lies. The left is completely unintelligible and to confront them with reason and logic is a mind numbing, fruitless endeavor.

I’m one of Ryan’s goslings, too. The Ides of March movie was actually pretty good except for the requisite Republican bashing. “They play down and dirty and we have to learn to do that to” or something like that… *eyeroll*

Alan Colmes is living PROOF of the capacity of liberal/progressive minds to rationalize. He personifies the word justify. The ability he has to make excuses for the inexcusable is amazing.
After seeing and hearing him (on numerous occasions) defend the racist statements and actions of the RevRearends Al Sharpton, Jeremiah Wright, Jesse Jackson and others, I feel like I NEED to take a hot shower. He’s sickening.

MCGIRV on November 19, 2011 at 12:35 PM
I think it’s something in between. Even plenty of conservatives seem to agree that some homeless people are going to these parks just for free food, but that doesn’t mean OWS is pure at all.
This whole thing has to be a little depressing for the left. They got all hot and bothered with Obama early on with very little pay off, and now some kids are taking to the street, and they’re ready to turn it into the Arab Spring and pretend it’s better than the civil rights movement if only the kids would play along.
This is likely to get much worse.
