Poll: What was the Obamateurism of the Week?

posted at 9:30 am on November 13, 2011 by Ed Morrissey

Time once again to make the call and choose the Obamateurism of the Week!  We have quite a few ugly choices this week to chew over.  If you’re inclined towards prayer to make your choice, just make sure that any nearby microphones are off first.

Previous 2011 “winners”:

Got an Obamateurism of the Day? If you see a foul-up by Barack Obama, e-mail it to me at obamaisms@edmorrissey.com with the quote and the link to the Obamateurism. I’ll post the best Obamateurisms on a daily basis, depending on how many I receive. Include a link to your blog, and I’ll give some link love as well. And unlike Slate, I promise to end the feature when Barack Obama leaves office.

Without a doubt the open mic. What a poor leader.

hawkdriver on November 13, 2011 at 9:34 AM

It’s sad that this list is just about this week and that “All of the above” would be an appropriate choice.

mikewor on November 13, 2011 at 9:39 AM

Open mic—–NOT Smart Power.

and we were supposed to be embarassed by Bush and his mumbling?

and we were told Palin was such an idjit because she didn’t read newspapers?

and we were told Perry was a goof for his 53 seconds of stumbling.

But this guy is a Ivy League Genius?

Ugggggh.

PappyD61 on November 13, 2011 at 9:39 AM

This week’s choice is easy.

What’s next? Oh yeah — predicting the margin of victory for the 49ers as they crush the NY Giants into submission.

aunursa on November 13, 2011 at 9:39 AM

Open mic…..that’s our guy! What an insufferable dope!

herm2416 on November 13, 2011 at 9:40 AM

Looks like another Obamateurism on Fox News today: Obama says the U.S. is just lazy in attracting new business.
Gee it couldn’t be the corporate tax structure could it? How about the anti-business climate Obama fosters? How about taxing the rich? How about regulating business out of business? God help us get rid of this guy (politically speaking, of course)!

Christian Conservative on November 13, 2011 at 9:40 AM

Without a doubt the open mic. What a poor leader.

hawkdriver on November 13, 2011 at 9:34 AM

Actually, he is an excellent leader………..when it comes to demonstrating a level of unimaginable incompetence once thought impossible to achieve!

pilamaye on November 13, 2011 at 9:43 AM

Well they are all disturbing I have to decide if I want to go domestic or international this morning.

All 3 incidents at the G20 are pretty bad.

He slights a baseball team – crappy not the end of the world.

Invokes God to pass his lousy son of porkulus bill? Yeah that’s distasteful.

It’s between God wants the job bill passed, because now the messiah is channeling God’s Will? That’s especially arrogant, apparently Obama’s Will is in exact synchronization with the Almighty’s Will/ The other is two leftys complaining they have to deal with a man far to the right of both of them – it’s not surprising, and it is unprofessional.

I’ll go with dissing Netanyahu. Obama is representing us when he goes to these summits not himself, he could try, and class it up a little bit in the future.

Dr Evil on November 13, 2011 at 9:44 AM

I’ve noticed Obama chewing gum in public for some time. It displays a tackiness that complements his wife’s taste in clothes. It grieved me not to be able to vote for that but the open mic had to be my choice.

It’s another all-of-the-above slate though.

Drained Brain on November 13, 2011 at 9:46 AM

Open mic, hey, lets have a pity party.

Last time I looked Texas is part of the United States and Rick Perry goes out of his way to attract business to this state to keep Texans employed, and provide jobs for the new comers. It’s a Texedus y’all, and they are skeedadling out of states like Illinois, California, cities like Detroit, and Chicago. Anywhere the taxation has become burdensome, and the unemployment high. That central planning is a jobs killer every time.

Dr Evil on November 13, 2011 at 9:53 AM

The open mic. But really, all of the above is in order.

Each shows a lack of refinement expected of a POTUS.

EliTheBean on November 13, 2011 at 9:55 AM

Gee, maybe it’s a good thing he didn’t take up chewing tobacco. Otherwise, the next time he and Netanyahu got together for a meeting, he’d pull a “Josey Wales” and spit a wad on Netanyahu’s shoe.

At that point, you would have the Obamateurism of The Year….not to mention WWIII.

pilamaye on November 13, 2011 at 9:56 AM

I think he is chewing nicotine gum.

Went with open Mic, letting the world know just how stupid he is.

IowaWoman on November 13, 2011 at 9:56 AM

Joooooooo-hater President Zero (and Sarkozy). I feel sorry for Bibi: He has to endure you two clowns every day.

This “administration” (clown car) knows no depth to which it will sink to display continually its anti-Semitism. They can neither see what is right with Israel nor do they understand how important an ally she is.

Philly on November 13, 2011 at 9:59 AM

I went with Bibi also. One can see why Bibi is more popular with American’s than bho is! bho is totally worthless and classless!

Cash for Clunkers is the only sure way to generate new business.

a capella on November 13, 2011 at 10:03 AM

Every week it’s about the same thing. Obama is of average intelligence at best. His wife is just plain dumb as a box of rocks, and he himself is average at best. One things for sure; the Obama’s are full of hatred especially towards white Jewish people.

Keemo on November 13, 2011 at 10:08 AM

I passed by arrogance, pandering, ignorance, and partisanship to arrive at “Chewing gum while consulting G-20 leaders” which shows that our Complainer-in-Chief is more comfortable acting like a damn clueless teenager than leader of the free world.

ExpressoBold on November 13, 2011 at 10:08 AM

Thought everyone would go with the “open mic”. That gum chewing is just so disrespectful…..plus he does it all the time.

tencole on November 13, 2011 at 10:11 AM

pilamaye on November 13, 2011 at 9:43 AM

I will take that correction in the manner intended. But may I say then that he is no Statesman?

hawkdriver on November 13, 2011 at 10:14 AM

I voted Netanyahu, but almost voted the gum chewing because it sums up his presidency: President Zero is still a smoker…and he’s still a liar.

Rational Thought on November 13, 2011 at 10:17 AM

It’s probably nicorette gum. He really needs to be more careful when using GOD’s name. The bible does warn about using HIS name in vain.

Kissmygrits on November 13, 2011 at 10:23 AM

had to go with the bibi remark

totally unpresidential

Just for the record, Obama’s “Statesman” skills could very easily be tossed into a thimble and shook around.

Obama should never again allowed to go to any G-20 meeting not any other summit involving world leaders. He demeans them and embarrasses us.

This insufferably lame excuse for a leader is the laziest president I’ve ever seen. He’s also the whiniest.

As for the OOTD, it’s too hard to pick one, they all show just what a dire need we have for new leadership. We CANNOT let this dolt serve another term.

scalleywag on November 13, 2011 at 10:40 AM

jsut read an article where the president said the US is lazy…I see a new OOTD Ed…

cmsinaz on November 13, 2011 at 10:46 AM

Obama is of average intelligence

surely you jest. Don’t you think the average American knows that offending our few allies is stupid? That there are less that 57 states? That giving the Queen of England an iPod with your speeches on it is gosh? That one doesn’t speak during the National Anthem of another country? That chewing gum in a business atmosphere is tacky? How to pronounce corpsmen?

On top of his lack of wisdom and knowledge is his absolute condescending arrogance and his deniable of reality.

katablog.com on November 13, 2011 at 10:49 AM

Mic check!

Mic check!

Fallon on November 13, 2011 at 11:37 AM

And the UK Telegraph is spinning Israel as the “bad cop”. While Obama gets to blame Israel and be the “good cop”.

Testicle free gutless cowards in the West better be thankful they have Israel to do their dirty work for them……so they get the OIL out to power the Western Economy.

Open Mic?……..I’d love to hear what BiBi thinks of the DOTUS and Sarkissy.

PappyD61 on November 13, 2011 at 12:10 PM

It’s a runaway.

Idiot.

Tim_CA on November 13, 2011 at 12:24 PM

Add all of this this to the fact that MICHELLE OBAMA USES A $15,000/DAY MAKE-UP ARTIST, and I wonder how the Entitlement President polls so well.

Mutnodjmet on November 13, 2011 at 12:34 PM

As much as I think Obama is the wrong person to be president, none of these Obamateurism’s is all that bad.

Insults Sarkozy’s looks at G-20

Hey, that’s how guys compliment another guy’s wife and baby.

God wants him to pass jobs bill, or something

What Obama actually said is just one form of the standard liberal line to “morally” justify government involvement in our lives for our own good.

Obama and Sarkozy rip Netanyahu while mics on at G-20

That was Sarkozy’s bad. Obama, he just said what any guy would say when he doesn’t want to get into an argument or a long discussion when one associate is badmouthing another associate.

Forgets to call World Series winner … again

That is not part of the duties of any president, of course. No big deal that Obama dispensed that bit of fluff.

Chewing gum while consulting G-20 leaders

If he chewed quietly, what’s the big deal?

Ira on November 13, 2011 at 1:35 PM

Smart gum.

tinkerthinker on November 13, 2011 at 2:20 PM

Insults Sarkozy’s looks at G-20 3.98% (185 votes)
-
I knew I was picking a loser… But I actually took the mis-fired joke as casting doubt on Sarkozy’s roll in procreating the child… Ya know… Momma baby, daddy’s maybe… kinda jab.
-

RalphyBoy on November 13, 2011 at 4:11 PM

Without a doubt, insulting Bibi (and, by extent, Israel). Whether or not he meant it to be public, it is quite informative of how he regards our only true Middle Eastern ally.

crazy_legs on November 13, 2011 at 4:23 PM

It’s another all-of-the-above slate though.

Drained Brain on November 13, 2011 at 9:46 AM

Agreed, all of the above, but really, the most egregious is thinking the he is in communication with God. What an arrogant idiot!!!!!! I’m willing to bet even money this guy never prays to or thinks about God at all, ever.

chai on November 13, 2011 at 4:30 PM

How about combining 1,3, and 5 for a G-20 Trifecta? –

“While representing USA at the G-20 summit, he Insults Sarkozy’s looks, joins Sarkozy to rip Netanyahu while mics on, and chews gum while consulting world leaders.”

Sowell Disciple on November 13, 2011 at 5:01 PM

A rare runaway selection this week. As idiotic as the other four choices are, being caught telling the truth you don’t want anybody to know is always a bad mistake for this Resident.
