Video: Jay Leno explains Obama mortgage-relief program

posted at 4:45 pm on October 28, 2011 by Ed Morrissey

Most of us will consider this a palate-cleanser for a Friday afternoon, although the White House might consider it a reason to stick with David Letterman in the future.  Our Townhall colleague, Greg Hengler, clips this video-metaphor explanation of Barack Obama’s mortgage relief plan that’s simply brilliant. The best (and most accurate) line comes last, so be sure to watch this short clip all the way to the end.

Shoulda showed dude hitting his head on the deck, then drowning.

Splashman on October 28, 2011 at 4:50 PM

Can’t wait to see him explain the student loan relief.

ColumbusConservative on October 28, 2011 at 4:53 PM

Perfect.

Worked with some friends who used the HAMP plans earlier — it was a complete disaster. Incompetence abounded, and the whole thing was worse than useless.

Now, redux.

Man… very close to my thoughts, but I was going for the broken teeth instead of the drowning though. Your’s is better/more accurate.

It’s a metaphor for all of Obama’s economic policies – and his bundlers make the rafts.

..not impressed. Leno is a NUTLESS EUNUCH. Shoulda brought this up when he had Obama on his show.

(Note to self: how many eunuchs are NOT nutless?)

And that starts the segue into the Obamacare metaphor.

Everyone who goes on these shows is guaranteed a softball interview. Why? Cuz they want them to come back again.

Fake but accurate

They are not home owners. They own no home. They only own debt.

angryed on October 28, 2011 at 5:22 PM

Hmmmmm….wealthy enough to own a home with a pool…nice clothes…obviously part of the 1%, let him drown.
And while he is drowning, Jay Leno, put him under house arrest, we can not have this kind of divisiveness on the public air waves.

right2bright on October 28, 2011 at 5:33 PM

If this was the American Economy the video would have been a bus going off a cliff.

angryed on October 28, 2011 at 5:22 PM

Even if you have no debt on your home, you still don’t own it. If you doubt that, just try not paying you annual property rent, er … tax. The government still owns your home.

These eunuchs still had their nuts — in pretty little lacquered jars.

..but Obama has been hanging out with these fluffers since he got into politics.

(open)

Camera slowly pans across a major university campus, trees, lawn and shrubbery nicely trimmed, students casually walking to class, or playing Frisbee on the green, soft rock playing in the background.

Cut to black.

Cut to “Obama Promises Plan to Assist Students.”

Cut to university president/dean’s office.

Focus slowly on university president/dean reading an official looking letter.

University President chuckles. Then guffaws. Then breaks into uncontrollable laughter. Falling off his expensive leather swivel chair to the Persian rug on the floor. Does a Homer Simpson horizontal dance.

Cut back to campus green. Laughter extended across campus. Students appear confused.

Fade to black.

Simple lettering.

“He’s got to be kidding. Right?”

(end)

coldwarrior on October 28, 2011 at 6:47 PM

Instead of HAMP, shouldn’t it read HEMP? I’m just askin……

Atlanta Media Guy on October 28, 2011 at 7:22 PM

except in real life, the homeowner drowns. Then the Occupiers fight over his clothes and the raft and say that the homeowner stole it from the poor.

and they also take the cameras of the camera crew.

As usual, Obamanation gets it wrong. Be good to business FIRST, then jobs come then the market comes back, and THEN the homes go up in value.

Cali never learned that harsh lesson.
