Maher: Fox would be a lot gentler to OWS protesters “if a brick came through Rupert Murdoch’s apartment”

posted at 2:45 pm on October 12, 2011 by Tina Korbe

So far, no verifications of break-ins or violence at yesterday’s Millionaires March, brought to you by those oh-so-clean-and-courteous Occupy Wall Street protesters. But if that lack of property-possession-or-destruction persists, it won’t be for want of encouragement.

Last night on The Rachel Maddow Show, always-over-the-top Bill Maher made this very polite and civil observation: “If a brick came through Rupert Murdoch’s apartment, yes, I have a feeling Fox News would be a lot more gentle on the Wall Street people.” You’re not suggesting the protesters should exploit the power of potential violence, are you, Bill?

Ms. Maddow — who is obsessed with the “genius” posed by the element of potential “danger” inherent in an unruly mob like OWS — actually found his comments laughable funny. Nor can she seem to accept that the Tea Party rose to prominence on the strength of its ideas — not the raucousness of its rallies, which are actually so tame police officers are apt to offer Tea Partiers greater leeway than most other groups (h/t NewsBusters).

Bottom line: Maher’s talk is just talk, but the Occupy Wall Streeters shouldn’t get any ideas (or, rather, they should abandon the ideas that took them to the streets in the first place). Nor should the rest of us fall prey to the fear of violence. Property rights are a fundamental underpinning of the freedom we enjoy in the United States — and respect for others’ property is what ensures respect for one’s own. Compare Maher’s eloquence to the great Abraham Lincoln’s (h/t HA commenter “walnut”):

Property is the fruit of labor… Property is desirable [and] is a positive good in the world. That some should be rich shows that others may become rich, and, hence, is just encouragement to industry and enterprise. Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another, but let him labor diligently and build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence when built.

Sheesh. I know which worldview I want to have.

They don’t call his demographic “Maher’s Morons” for nothin, He knows they can’t come up with ideas on their own. Maher: Hey kids why don’t you commit violence, and break the law attack my employer’s cable news network rival Rupert Murdoch, that sure would be swell. Remember, Time Warner owns both HBO and CNN. Maher wants the cable news war to go hot?

Look past Maher, and pay attention of the media entity that has their hand up the back of his neck, making his mouth work. No one really thinks that Maher’s behavior isn’t condoned by Time Warner do they? Ignore the man behind the curtain, there is nothing to see here.

Bill Maher would be a lot less insulting of Christians if an angry mob beat him bloody, whipped him senseless, and then nailed him to a very heavy wooden cross and let him hang from it in the public square for a little while.

Is that his logic? Interesting.

Jaibones on October 12, 2011 at 3:21 PM

Don’t get all twisted about Maher.

Just know where all his hate is coming from. Here is a little man, (what…..5 foot 4?) who also is basically an unattractive man.

Small with a huge nose and unattractive does not get much at all in Hollywood and he is reminded of it DAILY. This man is surrounded by gorgeous, stunningly beautiful people who are also ten times more talented than him. He gets invited to all the cocktail parties and soirees because he acts as their liberal warrior and for no other reason than that.

And he KNOWS THIS.

He goes home knowing that the women he so lusts after will never, ever date him. He is unmarried, childless and swimming in a pond of moral vacuum. His only outlet is his hate and it is what gets him in the “club” so he can, at the very least, hang out with the real stars and the beautiful people. All of his friend are most likely superficial ones that would abandon him the minute he changed his politics and if he did so, his life and career would be over.

He is a slave to his shortcomings and his bone-fides are false.

He is a sad, little lonely man.

Sorry folks, but he’s right. We already know that Ailes and Murdoch forced moderation on Fox News’s opinion show hosts after pressure from the White House and the prog cabal.

We now know that Fox News bends to intimidation and is willing to kiss White House butt. The only remaining question is where and when the progs will apply further pressure.

The lesson is that Alinsky tactics work and we can’t rely too much on Fox News for the truth.

slickwillie2001 on October 12, 2011 at 3:36 PM

Maher and his remarkably demented ideologue lefty buds remind me of when a female reporter went to a prison to interview a convict, after a couple hours she packed up and said, you really surprised me with your calm, intelligent demeanor I plan on putting in a good word for you, he thanked her and as she turned to leave the con hit her in the back with a chair, as she was struggling to get up he said, don’t forget me now.

Libs have evolved into very smooth liars but underneath they still operate under the freedom to do with others as they please ideology that allows them to justify even violence to achieve their ends.

Of course this includes under any and all circumstances even after voters have convicted them of the most heinous of acts.

Now I am even more certain that we will not have dogs in our home.

We have had, and do now have, cats, whose behinds we have never had to clean.

We do have children. Currently we have one remaining Hermit Crab, two Gerbils, and two cats, a brother and a sister.

In the past we have had frogs, various beautiful fish, other cats who eventually died, and I cannot remember what else.

Outside we have a virtual wildlife zoo, with snakes, toads, owls, hawks, peregrine falcons, American Goldfinch, Cardinals, Chickadees, hummingbirds, egrets, great blue herons, and about 200 other species of bird, turtles, including an occasional snapper turtle, racoons, fox, and more. We sawa at least one coyote out our way so far, and evicence of Cougar have been seen near our home as well.

Anyway, our children, from 3 1/2 years of age, till 14 years of age, want dogs, and your post helps remind me why I’d prefer to avoid the issue until we can afford a larger property, build them a large, safety enclosure for them, and allow them to live outside, rather than inside the home.

For many years I have found Bill Maher to be a repulsive individual who I would not take as a friend. Furthermore, he has betrayed his maliciousness, his violent nature, his hatred, and his self absorbed narcissism. He has been spewing and fomenting hatred, racism, class envy, etc., for years. His speech, and the speech of others of his ilk, such as Janeane Garofalo, and others, has promoted hatred and violence against Conservatives, Republicans, Black, Hispanic, and Asian Conservatives, Pro-lifers, US military personnel, and so forth.

When the left and Democrats push their meme about civility, it is a lie. They are malevolent and project their hatred, their rabid behavior, onto those who are innocent, such as the aforementioned Pro-lifers, Conservatives and black, Hispanic, and Asian Conservatives, Tea Party participants, etc.

The fact that Maher has work in the entertainment industry, and that people watch, listen, learn, and regurgitate such venemous bile, demonstrates who sick our society is.
