Video: Martin Bashir eulogizes Steve Jobs by dumping on Palin, of course

posted at 7:53 pm on October 6, 2011 by Allahpundit

Colby Hall at Mediaite is aghast but I’m not sure why. Remember, we’re talking here about a guy who’s capable of wringing anti-Republican talking points from segments about muppets. The whole point of having him on the network, I thought, is to lend a patina of British erudition to MSNBC’s usual demagogic dreck. (As the man himself has been known to observe, the British are simply more civilized.) Here we find him arranging a tasteful rhetorical bouquet for Jobs and then flinging it at Palin’s head; that’s what they pay him for, so that’s what he did. Hall’s surprised, I take it, because he thought even the hacks at MSNBC might suspend their partisanship for 90 seconds to pay honest tribute to the greatest technological innovator of the age after his untimely death. Instead we’ve got the equivalent of Bashir shooting spitballs at Palin while crouching behind Jobs’s coffin. I’m surprised that you’re surprised, Colby.

Be sure to watch to the end for a cameo by Occupy Wall Street fan Dylan Ratigan, who’s clearly moved by such a thoughtful, heartfelt use of Steve Jobs as a political bludgeon.

Bashir’s the spiritual successor of those British TV history specials that go on at great length and certitude about what an absolute idiot Hitler was and how his operation was just a complete shower, happy to forget that they were several times within a —- hair of having their nation and continent subjugated by the idiot, permanently.

Jobs: Capitalist, billionaire, rich, owned stocks, used his money to make more money…for him, sent good paying manufacturing jobs to China (where was your I-anything made, dude?), needed a bailout from another capitalist to stay in business, made products that required massive infrastructure and new power generation capability across the planet (can you say CO2, global warming and environmental pollution?), produced products that are being used by “the Man” to track and spy on users of those products.

All in all, a fairly generic description of any CEO of a BIG CORPORATION, you know, BIG oil, BIG Pharma, BIG energy, BIG Wall Street, BIG bank, etc…

Saluted today by thousands who would like to see all the BIG guys beheaded. And watch it live on their I-Phones.

The hypocrisy of liberal zealots cannot be explained by mortal man.

My apologies to Jobs for his passing being used as some kind of distasteful political statement against a potential GOP candidate. WTF?? That was probably even lower than anything I’ve seen Obly do. I’m surprised he didn’t use the opportunity to toss in a racial statement there somewhere too, as they’re wont to do. What a tribute to a lost innovator. These people are truly despicable.

…..and you think the EMBOLDENED MEDIA fresh from their complete political destruction of Sarah Palin is going to give up and not go after any Republican (RINO/Conservative or Progressive)?

You’re sadly mistaken.

The Palinization of the GOP is full speed ahead.

V-rod on October 6, 2011 at 9:04 PM

MSNBC’s job application includes a Rorschach test. Unless the applicant sees Palin and/or Bush in every image, they fail.

obladioblada on October 6, 2011 at 9:05 PM

and one more thing before the night is over….

What Palin did yesterday was throw her mortally wounded and bleeding political body over the edge of the boat into the MEDIA SHARK infested waters.

They had wounded her in 2008, and they continued thumping her, bruising her, scratching her with their teeth.

She got back on the boat and was starting to rehab her image but they followed closely along but the blood from the battles continued to drip out the back of the boat and they continued to follow her. Then, yesterday she gave up and threw herself overboard and let them have the rest of her political carcass.

Guess what the sharks are now even more hungry.

The GOP will never ever see a more emboldened media as they now circle the boats of the other threats to Obama.

You don’t think this will happen?

Then think about the 3 year journey that began for Sarah Palin on 8/29/08 and think how hopeful we were on that morning when we heard what was happening in Dayton.

Now think of how we felt yesterday.

THAT is what we’re in for the next 15 months.

Good night all.

Bashir sounds downright envious of Sarah Palin.
.
What we really need to do is set Bashir up with a Jacko fan that is moderately unhinged and can remember what Bashir did to Jacko regarding pedophilia.

ExpressoBold on October 6, 2011 at 9:41 PM

Odd…

Bashir says Jobs “represented the very best of American exceptionalism”…

I wouldn’t have thought that MSNBC would allow a commentator to offer the thought that there WAS any such thing as “American exceptionalism”. Apparently they were so busy congratulating themselves on the witty slam of Sarah Palin that they didn’t notice this little thing slipping out.

bofh on October 6, 2011 at 9:41 PM

How low can Sarah Palin go? I mean really, interjecting herself into a tribute to Steve Jobs? Just distasteful.

BTW, don’t forget to send Sarah another check! She’s looking forward to your continued donations to support her lifestyle and TV talk show career!

Bashir and the Media know he could no longer touch Sarah Palin.

Too bad for the MSM!

TheAlamos on October 6, 2011 at 10:15 PM

The most astonishing part of Bashir’s oral bowel movement is that he labels it “Clearing the Air.”

The only thing that got cleared by that derisive, sneering paean to imagination is Bashir’s wretched hate-filled soul. But don’t worry, libs; it will be re-filled by tomorrow, I’m sure.

karenhasfreedom on October 7, 2011 at 2:11 AM

I got my taste of him with his Living with Michael Jackson hit piece. He set MJ up with that kid’s participation in the interview, then reworded everything the kid said and tuned the mother into a gold-digging liar. Maybe no one here cared about MJ’s issues, but Bash-here was a filthy pig for his actions, which later were exposed in court and MJ found not guilty.
