CNN Poll: Majority of Americans oppose Palestinian statehood

posted at 3:25 pm on September 28, 2011 by Tina Korbe

Can’t say this is surprising, but it’s good to remember as the U.S. prepares to potentially have to veto the Palestinian bid for statehood. The U.N. Security Council today agreed to send the Palestinian statehood application to a council committee for review and the first meeting of that 15-member committee will be this Friday. In the meantime, American opposition remains stalwart, even if less so among Democrats, women and young people:

Most Americans don’t think that the Palestinians should be allowed to become full members of the United Nations, according to a new national survey. And the CNN/ORC International Poll also indicates that only four in ten support the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the West Bank and Gaza, but that there’s a wide partisan divide over the issue. …

The survey also indicates that politics no longer stops at the water’s edge. Two-thirds of all Republicans oppose U.N. membership for the Palestinians compared to just 41 percent of Democrats. There are also gender and generational differences on this issue, with men and people over 50 years old more likely to oppose U.N. membership for the Palestinians.

It’s hard not to attribute youthful sympathy toward the Palestinian cause to a lack of knowledge of the historical reasons for the conflict in the first place. The poll supports that hypothesis somewhat: While Israelis boast a favorability rating about 30 points higher than the favorability rating of Palestinians, a number of those polled reported feeling “unsure” about the Palestinians.

Well, they are too late, there already is a state, it is called Jordan and when it was created in the 1020′s it took over 70% of Israel’s land

So what have the Palestinian’s contributed to the world besides airplane hijackings and suicide bombings?

Seriously, somebody help me out here.

It would help if they actually looked like members of the family of nations. The world really needs a beggar nation. As it is now, their chief export seems to be flying missiles.

It looks to me like this was a survey of white Liberals and Independents, 50 and older.

If the Palestinians couldn’t whine about being victims, what would they ever talk about? Victimhood is their identity, and that is never going to change, no matter what the UN does. If Israel disappeared tomorrow, the Palestinian leadership would just target some other group as the Palestinians’ “oppressors.” They need their people to see themselves as victims of some outside group so they’ll never start asking why the Palestinian leadership has enriched itself while the Palestinian people live in squalor. They really are the world’s most useful idiots, useful, at least, to the greedy, bloated Palestinian leadership.

Hey, don’t forget the 1972 Munich Olympics massacre. Because nothing says you should have your own country like murdering Jewish athletes.

“The survey also indicates that politics no longer stops at the water’s edge.”

Apparently, people at CNN don’t know what the heck that means.

U.S. to spend $400 million ‘advising’ rather than arming Palestinan Authority forces

Officials said Washington, which has drafted a $400 million aid program for 2012, still intended to expand PA security forces. They cited plans to train and equip 10 battalions of the PA’s National Security Forces, deemed the chief paramilitary force in the West Bank.

The U.S. training program has been conducted through the security coordinator’s office as well as the State Department’s International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Department. So far, 3,700 members of NSF as well as 1,000 Presidential Guards were trained at the U.S.-sponsored International Police Training Center near Amman, Jordan.

It’s hard not to attribute youthful sympathy toward the Palestinian cause to a lack of knowledge of the historical reasons for the conflict in the first place.

…and a lack of knowledge concerning the attacks on Israel coming from Gaza on a regular basis.Thousands of missiles randomly shot at Israel (war crime according to the UN) and a Palestinian population that is 100% radicalized toward the destruction of the very same country that idiots proclaim should concede to them.

This has nothing to do about “gaining statehood” and everything to do with an Arab Spring that has multiplied the power of jihadist and empowered them to lay the ground work for their eventual all out war on Israel…..with the help of the UN no less.

O/T: This is unbelievable coming from the “adults” that claim to value “science”:

(via Ace of Spades)

Claim: Infrared Thermometers Relied Upon To “Prove” Greenhouse Gas Warming… Actually Are Specifically Calibrated To Not Measure Greenhouse Gas Warming

—Ace

Climate scientists had long believed infrared thermometers measured thermal radiation from the atmosphere and assumed it was ‘proof’ of the greenhouse gas effect (GHE). Their assumption was that infrared thermometers (IRT’s) were measuring ‘back radiated’ heat from greenhouse gases (including water vapor and carbon dioxide). But damning new evidence proves IRT’s do no such thing.

Now a world-leading manufacturer of these high-tech instruments, Mikron Instrument Company Inc., has confirmed that IRT’s are deliberately set to AVOID registering any feedback from greenhouse gases. Thus climate scientists were measuring everything but the energy emitted by carbon dioxide and water vapor.

…the hits just keep on coming.

Liberals don’t believe in science…they believe in fraud and cronyism that furthers their political agenda.

I you really want to beat your head against a wall, check out the veracity of claims to measure temps to within tenths of a degree across a distribution of identical thermometers.

It’s impossible to do given the margin of error in the therms they use for collecting global temps. Even the most accurate and expensive have a MoE greater than 2.5 degrees over six months of time.

So sixty percent of democraps are anti semites wanting to use the pfakistinians to destroy Israel. Yet the majority of Jews truckle with the party that will lead to the destruction of their ancestral homeland instead of the only party that clearly and overwhelmingly support the right of Israel to exist-republicans.
