Video: Obama tells CBC to “stop complaining” and start marching

posted at 12:00 pm on September 25, 2011 by Ed Morrissey

This is getting big play over at The Blaze and in a couple of our comment threads, but let’s keep a couple of things in mind. The CBC was going to stop complaining soon enough anyway; did anyone think that the CBC would publicly oppose Barack Obama in 2012? I doubt anyone in the room was offended, although having Obama dropping his Gs while telling authentic heroes of the civil-rights movement like Georgia’s John Lewis to take off their bedroom shoes and start marching really should have offended them.  And casting himself as a quasi-martyr for continuing “press on” despite his low approval ratings might not exactly be offensive, but it is at least a little desperate:

Finally, for a man who insisted that he wasn’t indulging in class warfare, this sounded an awful lot like a John Edwards Two Americas speech, didn’t it?  And as far as focusing on real people instead of campaign contributors, let’s not forget that Obama’s last jobs bill put over a half-billion dollars into Solyndra — and whose contributor was Solyndra’s main investor, George Kaiser?

Bedroom slippers. Wow. Why didn’t he just outright call them lazy, shiftless no accounts whose only use to him is to provide a base of support at the polls?

The last civil rights battle is ongoing; that of non-whites to have whatever political opinion they chose. The number of African-American conservatives coming out of the closet these days is remarkable, and we all have to work to end the persecution they faced for having views they’re not ‘supposed’ to have.

Obama is in a panic state and will attempt to destroy and humiliate anyone that doesn’t completely support and defend him. Unfortunately, his cult will simply take it and obey. This is going to get really nasty.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid described Obama during the 2008 presidential campaign as a black candidate who could be successful thanks in part to his “light-skinned” appearance and speaking patterns “with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.”

Looks like Harry got something right for a change.

The Teleprompter speaks and Obama reads.

Hey, don’t look now Congressional Teater Caucus but your 1/2 black President that won’t do bleep about your nearly 20% unemployment rate is getting smoked by the fully black “Mr. Empowerment” on the GOP side.

Unless you want all these black teens joining his National Civilian Security force you might want to check out Herman Cain…….(oh wait no, you CBC peeps want to DESTROY him that’s right I forgot).

How many of these Teaters in the CBC really want to do the same thing to Obama that Jesse Jackson said he wanted to do to him when his open mic caught him that time?

tetriskid on September 25, 2011 at 12:29 PM

Sadly insulting and condescending. He basically said stop sitting on your butts at a time when black unemployment is through the roof. If I were a jobless black person out trying to find a job and feed my family I would resent that assumption. For them to abandon him they will have to admit he is incompetent and they choose poorly. Don’t see that happening. I do see the black middle class possibly getting a clue and closing their pocketbooks and black voter turnout nowhere near what he got in the last election. We need to use this guys words against him. I would love to see Herman Cain on the ticket he can do this like No one else. He’s talked about the solutions for these issues for years. It’s all common sense

Isn’t a protest march a form of complaint? In effect what Obama said was stop complaining and start complaining!

Unless the idea of a protest march is to intimidate someone. Like the leadership of the GOP who would just faint if a crowd were to assemble in their front yard, wave signs and shout slogans.

..it is hard to determine which is more grating, the patronizing, condescending tone of that Expedia spokesperson (although he is an actor) in that annoying lead-in commercial or Obama’s rvival-meeting, ghetto-speak.

But it is instructive that he’s pandering to the likes of the Joooooooooz and the CBC, both of whom dealt him stinging rebukes in within the last six weeks.

He was talking to their representatives in the Congressional Black Caucus who really do need to get off their butts, stop whining about contrived grievances, and do something useful — even though falling in line behind Obama is not the kind of productive action I’d like to see them taking.

Oddly enough, I thought that bit was the most effective Obama has been rhetorically in a long time.

SNL once did a skit in which Kate Middleton came with William to meet the Queen and Prince Philip. Whenever William was in the room, they spoke in refined, voices and sat sedately in chairs.

Whenever William left the room, the two were rude, crude Cockneys standing over Kate, telling her not to be a golddigger because they weren’t about to share the royal loot.

I wish SNL would do a skit on Obama’s many accents – Kentucky Fried Hillary and effete who visited Pockestan.

He’ll just exist the stage and go take a method acting course on black mannerisms with a special emphasis on getting the accent correct. You would think living with MO he could get it right but you can’t erace his first 20 years.

If there are “mean streets” in Honolulu, Barry never experienced them. He grew up in a condo, attending the most expensive private school on Oahu, paid for by his (bank VP) “typical white person” granny. Barry has had a life of comfort and privilege that millions of white kids in this country can only aspire to — and that was long before he ever received his aff*rmative act*on admission to Columbia University, after he’d spent two years at Occidental College goofing off and smoking weed, according to his own book. And speaking of his book, in it brother Barry chillingly recounts one horrifying example of how he’s been so terribly mistreated by this racist society: he was once mistaken for a waiter by a restaurant patron. Oh, the humanity! No wonder he feels we owe him so much. How could any person expect to endure such abuse?

AZCoyote on September 25, 2011 at 1:46 PM

NO one should hate Obama more than the blacks.

He shames them, daily, repeatedly.

He will have set them back by many, many, many years, the charlatan.

Plus, by mid next year he’ll claim that he’s mostly white. He needs the hicks back. Dream on, though.
