Negative Tea Party talk continues; now branded “the real enemy”

posted at 6:05 pm on August 23, 2011 by Tina Korbe

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) was at it again at a townhall meeting in Florida Monday — but this time she had help from Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-Fla.). The meeting in Miami was a part of a five-city tour to draw attention to high unemployment among the black community and featured Democratic members of the Congressional Black Caucus, plus Jesse Jackson and others. The presenters were tripping over themselves to out-attack the Tea Party:

“The real enemy is the Tea Party –- let’s remember that,” said Rep. Frederica Wilson of Miami Gardens, host of the meeting and jobs fair. “The Tea Party holds Congress hostage … They have one goal in mind, and that’s to make President Obama a one-term president.”

She got energetic applause from the crowd of hundreds at Mt. Hermon AME Church in Miami Gardens. So did Rep. Maxine Waters of California, who recently said the tea party should “Go straight to hell.”

“I’m in church. I’m not going to repeat that,” Waters said Monday.

She also said: “We have to stand up and fight. It’s fight time…We’re not afraid of the tea party…In this struggle, we have to define who we are, what the president is doing and not let our voices be overshadowed by the tea party.” …

For his part, the Rev. Jesse Jackson said the Tea Party should be called “the Fort Sumter Tea Party that sought to maintain states’ rights and slavery.”

Truly, it’s tiresome to continue to document these atrociously irresponsible statements on the part of legislators and activists — but, as long as folks continue to say them, I’ll continue to document them because they reveal a blind prejudice where the Tea Party is concerned. Wilson’s comment is especially telling. She thinks the extent of the Tea Party’s ambition is the ousting of Barack Obama. But what the Tea Party envisions is no more and no less than a solution to the nation’s growth-of-government-spending problem. True, based on his past record and his insistence on the passage of a fourth entitlement program that will astronomically increase our debt, Obama doesn’t appear to be the president to make that Tea Party dream come true — so, yes, Tea Partiers will work to vote him out. But the Tea Party’s opposition to Obama doesn’t stand abjectly — it’s driven by actual principles and desired policies.

The irony is that if Republicans acted like this all the time by whining, insulting and name calling every day, the Republicans Party’s numbers would go down the toilet.

No they wouldn’t. IF Republican would grow a pair THEN WE’D FINALLY HAVE THE DOG FIGHT this country needs.
Insult Maxine Waters everyday. Follow her around to insult her.
Nobody in Congress deserves it more.

Why isn’t she at her home district, rather then trolling Florida? Because the unemployment rate in Los Angeles is 13.3 percent. She doesn’t dare go home for fear of being pelted with eggs and garbage.

Perhaps Rep. Wilson should be a bit more concerned about the level of education of those in her district and not so quick to lay the blame for failure at the feet of others.

Zardoz on August 23, 2011 at 7:03 PM

To the left and far too many on the right, education has become the complete and utter responsibility of the government. I guess it’s natural to blame the Tea Party if you don’t succeed in life, then.

Liberals have always considered taxpayers their enemies. They have never tried to hide that.

As long as Communists and Socialists can get everything they want through politics, they’re happy to keep making gains that way. But when the pendulum swings the other direction, even the tiniest amount, the long knives always come out.

Del Dolemonte on August 23, 2011 at 7:13 PM

Well, in a way, she’s right. We are their enemy. They are not our enemy, however.

We are the enemy of the dole. We are the enemy of the corrosion of humanity that welfare creates. We are the enemy of big, lazy, non-responsive, corrupt, cronyist, free-spending, unaccountable, power-hungry, insular, inept, must-I-go-on? government. We are the enemy of illegal immigration, not legal immigration. We are the enemy of multiculturalism that says there are no morals, that one religion is just as good as another regardless of who they kill or who they enslave. We’re the ones paying the bills. They’re the ones gorging at the trough.

Of course she sees us as the enemy. But we’re not. We’re their saviors. Not that they’ll ever thank us for it. Nobody likes to hear that the party is over. Nobody wants to hear somebody tell them to turn off the music. Nobody wants to be told they’re an addict, or an alcoholic. But, if that’s our role, so be it.

The tea party is the hero in this picture. The much-maligned, misunderstood, unwelcome hero – but the hero nonetheless.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m still in to save the country from themselves – regardless of whether they want me to or not. I’ll suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous invective. I’ll have the racists call me a racist. I’ll have the thugs call me a thug. I’ll have the greedy ones call me greedy. Don’t matter. We’re still gonna save them.

Congresspeople never like it when Tea Party People hold them accountable.

And here is another CALL TO ACTION for my fellow Tea Party Activists.

The DrudgeReport.com posted a great list from the No Labels Party which shows which Congresspeople are not holding Town Hall Meetings during the August Congressional Recess which lasts through Labor Day Weekend.

Please check the list via the link below.

If your Congressperson is holding a Town Hall Meeting, please be sure to attend so you can ask them some tough questions.

If your Congressperson is NOT holding a Town Hall Meeting, call them to find out why they are not willing to have a meeting with their constituents.

No Labels activists spoke to all 430 current members of the House of Representatives to find that only 176* of them scheduled meetings. The results of the phone survey also reveal that members of both parties share the blame, with about 67% of Democrats and 50% of Republicans stating they had no town hall meetings scheduled for the recess period.

http://nolabels.org/blog/60-congress-not-holding-town-halls

Every single Congressional Representative (And Senators too!) should be holding at least one Town Hall Meeting in their District during this August recess.

Let’s encourage our elected Representaties to do their jobs and meet with us!

And if they don’t want to have a Town Hall Meeting, then it is time to make sure your district has a strong candidate to run against the incumbent in the 2012 election.

It seems that both Obama and the Tea Party have the same goal, to make him a one term president. Otherwise , if Obama really wanted to be a two term President, then Obama would be abandoning his prior socialist policies which are being soundly and overwhelmingly rejected by the American people, and Obama would be moving to the center as Clinton did, between 1994-1996. He would then find more support from tea partiers and independents from this about face and this facing of reality, and might even squeak by in 2012. Of course the latter scenario would require Obama not to be a socialist ideologue, but the “pragmatist” his media toadies claim he is.

The TEA party is threat to the welfare state. SEE Bill Clinton betrayed black America. He passed welfare reform in the 90s, the end to Big Government. Porkulus was a response to Clinton’s welfare reform a revenge if you will. They have a nostalgia for the good ole days of Big Government. Never mind the era of Big Government is over, and the progressive wave crested -they passed Obamacare, and we cleaned house in November 2010. These are the progressive surviors of the 2010 election, hanging on, white knuckling it :) We are transitioning to a Global economy, the old forms of governing don’t work anymore. They state the TEA party is afraid of change, that’s just projection. It’s the Democrats that want to live in the past. The era of Big Government from FDR to LBJ it gives them comfort because we are experiencing a lot of social shock as we transition into the new world order. We are transitioning from the old cold war order, it’s melting (Arab Spring). Some people talk about change, but very few can handle it. This big mouth woman, in the photo at the top of this post, never had an original idea in her life. She is just trying preserve the old power structure, it gave her succor she needs to get over it. Time waits for no man or rude loudmouth – the sands of time can be like quicksand, the more you struggle the faster you sink :)

In order for us to compete in the new world order – the new global economy. We need a lean mean efficient federal government. If they got their way, it would be like us all trying to drive a boat without raising the anchor, you won’t get very far, very fast. You end up driving around in circles. America is better than welfare pimps, and their dependent constituency.

“The Tea Party holds Congress hostage … They have one goal in mind, and that’s to make President Obama a one-term president.”

Ah, how little does poor Frederica know.

You see the greatest freedom is the freedom from government so that we may exercise our positive natural rights and liberties to the benefit of our fellow man. It isn’t just Obama that needs to go unemployed, but vast swaths of the US Government that have sought to end our ability to exercise our positive natural rights freely for the benefit of all and with harm towards none. That means that it is time to end the idea that government knows better how to run our lives than we do, and that the greatest good that can be done by government is equality of treatment for all.

That means not giving hand-outs.

That means not dictating how long you may work.

That means putting accountability into the most capable hands which are the most local hands, not those of a distant and detached government that feels fit to rule, not govern.

And that means a government that must live within its means, which must be the least possible burden to the people so that we may decide how best to invest our time, effort, money and love so as to create a better society for all.

Obama will just be one of thousands, tens of thousands turned out very soon. And we will not collapse without these meddlers, but thrive and grow when our positive liberties are unleashed once more.

The apron strings that such as you Frederica, Maxine and Jesse wish to tie around your fellow man’s hands and necks will be cut, as even soft chains are still chains and the goal of this Nation is to let you live free to do good. That will be a scary time to those who’s souls and lives you have impoverished through handouts not from charity but extracted from your fellow man by that necessary evil called government. You have made it a pure evil in lessening the great good of charity, and that will end and those who have been chained by those sweet, soft and choking apron strings will breathe free at last…. at long last… and know that they are their own measure for themselves. That is good. Sorry to inflict good on people but it must be done so they can understand that individuals are the greatest power this Nation has… not government. Sorry for the choking of those first breaths, they are the most painful, but the pain will stop and the deep inhaling of liberty and freedom will change this world.

He further comments on equality by saying “Furthermore, when citizens are all almost equal, it becomes difficult for them to defend their independence against the aggressions of power. This has been the problem, indeed, and much of it stems from our four-fold political system that has arisen from those near equalities with two of them, Hamiltonians and Wilsonians, always seeking to put more of government in the role of deciding what is best… one in banking, thus public liberty, and the other in internationalism, thus public freedom. Each of those, in turn, has been holding sway in the 20th century with little heard from the other two streams. Of the two that are left that uphold liberty, one seeks to institutionalize the protection of that gift and the other seeks to defend it to the hilt and sees government as a necessary evil. One speaks of liberty and trusts in law, the other speaks of freedom and trusts in you.

The way to claw back from the divisiveness is to hit the heart of the power used to divide us amongst ourselves, which is that very institution that we may change or abolish when it oppresses us. That is a fearful jump to take, and yet it was spoken of by such as de Vattel and Grotius, although in much expanded fasion, and from Pufendorf who lays out the fundamentals of the Three Laws and how they are separate but interacting domains. We are now in that era where civil law seeks to usurp both moral law and natural law, because we no longer are educated in what the domains of law are and what their purpose is. That can be relearned and it is as hard as pulling teeth and as easy as looking around you and recognizing that the self-evident must be spoken of.

To do that requires trusting in yourself.

To get that government must be cut down to its essentials so the tool of inequality is rendered to one that can barely handle equality of treatment and will have the choke chain upon it to keep it in its place of guardian of our negative liberties, not the abuser of them. That is very hard to do, to convince man that being free is worth the cost. And as easy as pointing out that soon, very soon, government will determine if you are born, what you shall do, how you shall live and tell you when it is time for you to die. Even then it is not too late to rise up… but the cost is steeper. Now is the time to point to the chains being forged to go around your neck, your wrists, your ankles and your soul.

What a shame. After 60 years these race based hustlers, pimps, thugs and racist tribalists are able to spew their hate with impunity.

If you don’t think there’s a brewing uncivil war in America today with the chaos, unlawful criminality, ignorance and disdain for America…I suggest you listen closely to her again…her ilk…her hatred…..her racism.

I’m supposed to tolerate the intolerant?

Fight over what? Stand up for what? The demand for others to pay for what you feel is a right, an entitlement just for living?

It’s fight time…

What kind of incitement is that?

We’re not afraid of the tea party…

What the heck is your understanding of what the TEA party is about? It wants smaller, less-interfering government. Do you want more? How does the TEA party frighten people? What is the threat?

In this struggle, we have to define who we are, what the president is doing and not let our voices be overshadowed by the tea party.” …

What exactly is this “struggle” all about? What is this definition of “who we are”? Aren’t we all Americans? A voice cannot be overshadowed by definition. What are your “voices” saying? How much money, how many agencies, and how many programs are sufficient to quell those voices…or is it an endless cry for “gimme, you ‘owe’ me”? When do those voices say, “This is what I give to make a successful community. This is what I pay to make such a community a reality”?

How do these race-baiters get away with using churches as their launching pads for government demands? Aren’t there other civic venues?

But us? Hell … we have people on our side who MAKE IT A POINT to stand on a soap box and criticize our own whackos whenever they do something like that.

Yes she knows nothing of history and the fate of those that are the mere foot soldiers to bring in a regime… the fervent ‘believers’ who outlive their usefulness.

The Red Guard.
The SA.
The early fascisti.

When those that push not learning history don’t bother to learn it themselves, they find themselves wondering ‘what happened?’ as they are betrayed.

That is what happens to the ‘true believers’: they are no longer useful and can be disposed of. The forge the chains and then get thrown into the molten metal, their purpose served and ended.

What the heck is your understanding of what the TEA party is about?

Maybe you don’t understand friend. It’s the TParty, in their view, that wants to cut off, once and for all…the birth “entitlements” that they believe we owe them as reparations. They’ve been on the teet for so damn long….when do they stand for what King preached of? When do they stand on their own rather than being stupid pawns in a game of….continued dependence and ignorance?

It’s just so easy to believe these racist morons…that it’s not their fault…it’s not them who can see their way out of the endless poverty, illiteracy, criminality…it has to be…THE MAN.

Pathetic and sickening that these morons….can ever hold office. And that these priveleged few…can hold so much sway over their…”constituents”.

The Notorious G.O.P on August 23, 2011 at 6:08 PM

I’m reading a fascinating novel, rooted in a lot of facts, called Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides, about Greek immigrants driven out of Turkey, who settled in Detroit. It covers several generations of experiences, describing the heyday of the city to its decline.

Two details struck me. One is that a charlatan began the Nation of Islam in the black ghetto, called Black Bottom, with cockamamie theories about the superiority of his race and used this contrived history to stir up grievances. Eventually, the Nation of Islam headquartered in Chicago.

The other describes the race riots in Detroit in 1967. The likesness to what has recently gone on in England with destruction and looting is eye-opening. Agitators began grievances against white business owners. As one character put it, “The matter with us is you.”

It is interesting to point out that George Romney, father of Mitt, was governor of Michigan during the riots. He wanted to call in federal forces to quell the mayhem, but Lyndon Johnson was reluctant to do so, as it was politically compromising for him to do so.

Now, how much of the resentment toward a Mitt Romney candidacy do you think would be inspired in the black community if generational memories serve to fan these idiotic flames further?

We have had the Vice President along with other elected democrats and pundits refer to Americans as “terrorist”…

We have elected democrats tell Americans with different political views that “they can go straight to he!!”…..

We have elected democrats blame high unemployment on “racism” and declare other Americans “their enemies”……

Tell us liberals….what happened to this:

http://newsbusters.org/blogs/kyle-drennen/2011/01/13/cbs-touts-dem-congresswoman-using-daughter-pin-shooting-rhetoric-mommy

COURIC: Given that this seems to be, from what we know so far, the work of a lone deranged gunman, is now the right time to really analyze and discuss the political discourse in our country?

JAMES CLYBURN [REP. D-SC]:
I think so. Look, I lived through the 50s and the 60s. And I can tell you, I’ve seen those eyes that I saw on tv last night and this morning. And we cannot pooh-pooh that. We’ve got to really be very, very concerned about how we say things and the things that we do say and how that may impact people.

COURIC: At the same time, was it appropriate in the immediate aftermath of this event, by some people, to blame right-wing rhetoric?

SCHULTZ:
No one’s blaming right-wing rhetoric but that we all agree that the language and the tone and the tenor of our debate has gotten too intense and that we need to lead by example.

COURIC: Congressman Clyburn, after this incident, you said quote, ‘It seems like this gentleman was not satisfied with the way the election turned out’ and you blamed candidates like Sharron Angle for using incendiary language like ‘finding Second Amendment remedies’ during her campaign. Do you think you spoke too soon?

CLYBURN: No, I don’t. Gabby predicted something like this. She, in her own words, said to us a few months ago, in pointing out some of the symbolism and words or symbols, and I think that we are responsible for what we say and the way we say it.

…and little MRs. Civility was not done:

In reference to Sarah Palin:

Schultz blasted the former Alaska governor: “Let’s remember that [Congresswoman] Gabby [Giffords] herself talked about, just a few weeks ago, the fact that individuals who shall remain nameless, used violent images and words in her campaign and she talked about how important it was that we dial it back.” Couric followed up: “Do you think that’s what she was doing, defending violent rhetoric?” Schultz ranted: “I think she has used violent imagery and violent language, and I think she’s – it appears to me that she’s being somewhat defensive, yes.”

Whoa…..seems here that democrats are really concerned about the use of “violent imagery and rhetoric”….

…..except when they want to use it:

(D) Kanjorski:
“That Scott down there that’s running for governor of Florida,” Mr. Kanjorski said. “Instead of running for governor of Florida, they ought to have him [sic] and shoot him. Put him against the wall and shoot him.

Obama:

‘If They Bring a Knife to the Fight, We Bring a Gun’

“I won’t you to argue with them and get in their face”
Barack Obama 9/17/08

“I think it’s tempting not to negotiate with hostage takers, unless the hostage gets harmed. In this case the hostage is the American people and I was not willing to see them get harmed,”

Obama on keeping taxes from increasing, December 6, 2010

“A Republican majority in Congress would mean “hand-to-hand combat” on Capitol Hill for the next two years, threatening policies Democrats have enacted to stabilize the economy,”

Obama, October 6, 2010

“Here’s the problem: It’s almost like they’ve got — they’ve got a bomb strapped to them and they’ve got their hand on the trigger. You don’t want them to blow up. But you’ve got to kind of talk them, ease that finger off the trigger.”

Obama on banks, March 2009

“We’re gonna punish our enemies and we’re gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us.”
Obama to Latinos, October 2010

“I don’t want to quell anger. I think people are right to be angry! I’m angry!”

Obama on ACORN Mobs, March 2010

“We talk to these folks… so I know whose ass to kick.“

Obama on the private sector, June 2010

Since the democrats call for “New Civility”:

Rep. Nancy Pelosi – “We’re trying to save life on this planet as we know it today.”
Rep. Nancy Pelosi – “They want to destroy your rights.”
Sen. Harry Reid – “The time for ideological extremism should end.”
Rep. Rangel – “These people don’t care about our country.”
Comm. Director Dan Pfeiffer – “…could potentially put us towards a depression because House Republicans…are unwilling to compromise.”
DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz – “This is almost like dictatorship.”
Rep. Garamendi (D-CA) – “They basically want to terminate the American Dream.”
Rachel Maddow Show – “shameless, craven, unprincipled, partisan hackery”
Tom Friedman – “If sane Republicans do not stand up to this Hezbollah faction in their midst, the Tea Party will take the G.O.P. on a suicide mission.”
Rep. Hoyer – “They want to shoot every bullet they have at the president.”
Van Jones – “They want to repeal the 20th century. They want to smash down every American institution our grandparents fought for…”
Joe Klein in Time – “Osama bin Laden, if he were still alive, could not have come up with a more clever strategy for strangling our nation.”
Steve Rattner on MSNBC – “It’s a form of economic terrorism…These Tea Party guys are like strapped with dynamite standing in the middle of Times Square at rush hour saying either you do it my way or we’re going to blow you up, ourselves up, and the whole country with us.”
Paul Krugman in NY Times – “Republicans have, in effect, taken America hostage…”
William Yeomans at Politico – “they have now become full-blown terrorists. They have joined the villains of American history who have been sufficiently craven to inflict massive harm on innocent victims to achieve their political goals.”
Martin Frost at Politico – “We now have a group of U.S. politicians seeking political purity, who seem to have much in common with the Taliban.”
Rep. Schakowsky – “Republicans, stop fragging the American economy and the American people!”
Margaret Carlson – “they’ve strapped explosives to the Capitol and they think they are immune from it.”
Rep. Mike Doyle – “This small group of terrorists have made it impossible to spend any money.”
VP Biden – “They have acted like terrorists”

democrats have to depend on one element and one element only to energize their base…..Hate.
