Instead Obama did the opposite, threatening — without quite promising — to veto it if it comes to his desk. Which, of course, he won’t.

You’ve been spending too much time in the sun. Of course he’d veto it if it’ll help exacerbate this phony “crisis.”

Obama is all about wrecking this country. He hates America. I wouldn’t put anything past that jugeared thug.

Obama will veto Boehner’s plan or anything else that has GOP on it. He wants the stock markets to tank because the great inequity in wealth between white people and the minorities is that white people invest heavily and have retirement savings (stocks, bonds, IRAs, 401ks, etc.).

If he ruins the economy, makes the dollar worthless, then we are all going to be equal. Don’t know how that’s gonna work out for getting taxes, though?

Yes, Graham is up for re-election, so he’s trying to stay on the “right” side of things, so to speak. But, if there are other squishes like Graham in the House who think they can force the BBA issue, Boehner’s plan is probably in deep, deep trouble. Where does that leave things?

obama was dealt to weak card..deuce / trey unsuited.
he limped in on the button without making a bet.
boehner raised pre-flop with his ‘not one cent of new taxes’ bet
obama called boehner but failed to make a pair on the flop. he did, however, pick up a gut shot staight draw.
on the turn, obmaa made a bet equal to half the pot by promising to veto cut, cap and balance. but boehner quickly called obama by passing CC&B and sending it to the senate.
on the river, obams missed the straight. he has rags. he’s made a continuation bet equal to one half the pot which is either a weak bluff or slow playing that he caught a card on the river to make his straight.
boehner has noticed obamas ‘tell’…a trembling lower lip and propensity to talk about corporate jets when he’s bluffing.
boehner moves all in, and has obama facing the end of his tournament life.
if obama refuses to push all his chips in, it will be a good lay down. he’ll save himself to fight anohter day.
problem is, you just never know what these on-line amatuers will do.
emotion vs. logic…which will it be sport?

As for the theatre next year over again. He wanted better but so what, really?

It’s funny – I started a home project a couple of years ago and finally finished it just recently. I returned some unused materials to my local Home Depot and Lowes stores where I had bought them. I was happy to see that the prices on everything had increased significantly (I had all the original receipts), so I made a little money on the transaction.

You are right – we need to gird our loins. The inflationary poop is going to hit the fan.

But, today, the executive office of the president at the Office of Management and Budget released its statement of official policy on the plan House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) released yesterday and brought to the House floor today at 3 p.m.:

The Administration strongly opposes House passage of the amendment in the nature of a substitute to S. 627. If S. 627 is presented to the President, the President’s senior advisors would recommend that he veto this bill.

Just to be clear, these are the same group of advisors that previously underestimated the budget deficit by $2 trillion a year or two ago who are making this recommendation, yes?

I was holding off, then talked to the hardware store owner, THEN decided to go forward.

The president’s excuse for the veto threat? He doesn’t want to deal with the debt ceiling issue again before the 2012 election.

Good to know he puts the country’s interests ahead of his own. That’s real leadership. (sarcasm off.)

I really want to add to this but I’ve been frustrated to make it succinct (this is the third draft).

So lemme try again-

I feel the same here, spend what you need to in the next few years, NOW!

I decided to go ahead with an addition to the house that I had been fretting/waiting on for better economic conditions. Then. . . .I talked the owner of a hardware store at length, and decided to jump. I’m glad I did.

90% of the work I did myself, so it was mostly a materials cost. Just last week I ran a price comparison to see what would have been the impact had I waited.

Long story short, what I paid for a year ago in materials would have cost me over triple today.

Had I knocked it down to #2 lumber, used inferior fasteners, rock bottom fixtures and the like, I could have gotten it down to slightly under double. The premium U.S. lumber, fasteners and fixtures I used have seen a total price increase of 367% (36700 basis points! — That is INSANE!)

This nation is dying! Hunker down and gird your loins folks.

Why is that considered acceptable but any similar statement by teh GOP regarding Reid’s plan or Obama’s “plan” would be considered childlike intransience?
