Debt ceiling remix: “Dance on the ceiling”

While angry voters across the country crash Capitol Hill phone lines and websites to tell their congressional representatives their views about the debt crisis, Hill staffers have been circulating a list of songs to keep their spirits up as the debt ceiling stalemate continues. Here, three of the most appropriate songs on the list:
Lionel Richie: Dancing on the Ceiling
The Eagles: Take it to the Limit
And my favorite for the Republicans … Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers: I Won’t Back Down
The other songs on the list (profanity and inappropriate content in some): Dire Straits, Money for Nothing; Red Hot Chili Peppers, Higher Ground; Notorious B.I.G., Get Money; Lil Wayne, Sky’s the Limit; Bloodhound Gang, The Roof is on Fire; Bad Boy Productions, Mo Money Mo Problems; The Beatles, Taxman; The Temptations, Ain’t Too Proud to Beg; Amy Winehouse, Back to Black; Madonna, Borderline; Barrett Strong, Money (That’s what I want); ABBA, Money Money Money; The OJ’s, For the Love of Money; Paul Engeman, Push It to the Limit; Jason Derule, The Sky’s the Limit; and The Beatles, HELP!
This list is a good start, but I’m sure there are more and better options out there — a couple with fewer cusswords and more melody, maybe? Feel free to add your suggestions!

All this BS! Suspending the Constitution! Really rinos? You know what you are doing is illegal and should get you arrested!So, the Propaganda Ministry will be in full shrieking hysteria over Hitlery’s Benghazi BS! Tomorrow they will be Hysterical about the Assault Weapons Ban Legislation proposed by DiFi!

It will be interesting to see if Paul does agree that temporarily suspending the US Constitution is a good idea.
If he does, then it would be reasonable to see him vote for a temporary suspension of the 2nd ammendment as well.
In fact, why not suspend the first ammendment to appease Muslims?
Maybe suspend the 4th and 5th ammendments as they just get in the way of fighting ‘crime’.
Then there is that pesky appointment clause. Maybe Obama can just ‘temporarily suspend’ that one as well.
Maybe it would be quicker to just go ahead and ‘temporarily suspend’ the entire US Constitution ‘for the good of the people and their children’!

It is the best we can do when the democrats control the Senate and the Presidency… The Republicans should repeat this every 3 months… In fact increasing the debt would be one of the major causes of the economic collapse and hence the best way for Republicans to win in 2014 and 2016.

I finally see the logic of it all.
The plan is to hand the Democrats “victory” after “victorY’ until the recession in Europe is here in the US. At that point, it will be hard for the Democrats to blame the Republicans, when they have had all those “victories”.

@Freddy 3.24 PM. Many on the left would just love to suspend the constitution. They hate it, and -all- its amendments, as it was written by a bunch of white men 250 years ago. They want something new and communist and anti-American that also enshrines the de-industrialization called for by the climate change proponents. They use big sounding words to try to make their ideas sound respectable, like “I don’t believe in the immutability of the US constitution.”

Er… what? I am opposed to this bill too, but the debt ceiling is not anywhere in the Constitution. The Constitution just authorizes Congress to borrow money on the credit of the United States. The debt ceiling was imposed by legislation passed by Congress. That legislation can be modified or scrapped at any time by subsequent Congresses. It is no way requires “suspending the Constitution.”

The democrats argued for a decade that the Bush tax cuts were bad for the economy, and the Clinton tax rates were the key to prosperity, yet less than a month ago and during the election they argued that returning to the Clinton tax rates would destroy the economy, and the American people bought it. Trust me, they will have no problem blaming republicans after all those “victories”.

Ok, so this means the government is not restricted by the debt ceiling *at all* for several months.
Um, isn’t this like giving a crack addict an AMEX card that’s accepted at every crackhouse, liquor store, and whorehouse in the city? Without limit? For months?
