Are they simply stupid, or are they being deliberately misleading? It’s one or the other, and neither reflects well on them.

It is not a coincidence that the “polls” show support for troop removal “as soon as possible” and Obama’s coming removal of troops “as soon as possible”

Pew, gallup and all liberal polls produce results that liberals want , when they want them. Not all the past polls in the the last 3 years show support for troops staying until the job is done
Suddenly , according to Pew, Obama and the alledge opinions of the America people suddenly happen at the same time
Gallup did the same thing with “support for gays in the military”, coming out wth the same results in the general population as Gates found among combat troops….an unbelievable notion since the troops are heavily more conservative than the general population.
Polls are poltical propaganda, nothing more

Remember what Obama promised back in 2008:

“No. 3, we’ve got to deal with Pakistan, because al Qaeda and the Taliban have safe havens in Pakistan, across the border in the northwest regions, and although, you know, under George Bush, with the support of Senator McCain, we’ve been giving them $10 billion over the last seven years,(Obama has given them billions more) they have not done what needs to be done to get rid of those safe havens.
And until we do, Americans here at home are not going to be safe.
But I do believe that we have to change our policies with Pakistan. We can’t coddle, as we did, a dictator, give him billions of dollars and then he’s making peace treaties with the Taliban and militants.

…Obama stated himself that as long as the terrorist have the ability to train,fund,and support terrorist in this region….America will not be safe.
This has not been accomplished in Afghanistan or Pakistan.
Anybody paying attention knows that taking out Osama was a goal but never a difference maker in winning the war.
So basically Obama has spent the last 2.5 years fighting battles with no conviction or plan to actually win the war.

Obama’s bragging tomorrow about taking out so many Al-qaeda leadership will ring about as hollow as bragging about taking out the Viet Cong on Hill #937 while the Ho Chi Minh trail was alive and well.

The Taliban and Al-qeada are one and the same when it comes to their desire to destroy the West:

Qaeda is not a standalone problem but instead one head of several on a jihadist hydra.

Al Qaeda was never a self-contained problem that could be defeated by neutralizing select individuals – even though capturing or killing senior al Qaeda members surely does substantially weaken the network.
Instead, Osama bin Laden and his cohorts deliberately fashioned their organization to be the tip of a much longer jihadist spear.

…this idea that we have “defeated al-qaeda” in Afghanistan is nothing more than spin meant to provide cover for surrender in Afghanistan.
To leave the Taliban in power in Afghanistan is to leave Al-qaeda in power.
To leave without achieving the very goals that Obama stated himself of eradicating the region of the ability to train and support terrorist and launch attacks means we have failed.

“I wouldn’t be overly anxious to get the troops out of there until we have enough stability and capacity within the Afghanistan security forces to take up the slack,” [Candidate Y] said.
