Video: Is Sarah Palin actually an idiot?

posted at 2:40 pm on June 20, 2011 by Tina Korbe

Jim Treacher at The Daily Caller sure seems to think so. “Sorry everybody,” Treacher writes, “but after watching this astonishing video, I can come to no other conclusion. The evidence is irrefutable. We can’t afford to put somebody this dumb in the White House.” Hate to say it, folks, but I agree with him. Watch the video and I think you will, too (clip includes profanity):

Switching out of tongue-in-cheek mode: “Let me be absolutely clear.” I can imagine the pressures of the presidency and, in light of those pressures, I don’t find even this impressive amalgamation of misspoken remarks too troubling. But the hypocrisy absolutely deserves the treatment it receives here! Reminds me of SE Cupp’s recent interview with Martin Bashir. She was talking about Michele Bachmann, but her comments are applicable to criticisms of Palin, too (and, no, not because they’re both women — Cupp hits on that in the interview with Bashir, too). “If you spend that much time in the public sector in the limelight, whether you’re Joe Biden who can’t spell ‘jobs’ or remember when the television was invented or you’re the president who can’t pronounce ‘Corpsman’ or remember how many states there are, you’re going to sort of misstep here and there,” Cupp said. “Bottom line, Michele Bachmann is a capable leader.” Yep. So is Sarah Palin.

Yes Palin is smart, but I’d rather see her gaffes compared to the braintrusts on the right as that’s where she’s taking most of her fire from these days.

Showing that she’s smarter than Obama is like making the case that she’s not as evil as Charles Manson.

Damn YouTube! It’ll have to wait til I get home.

I’m getting pretty sick of this gotcha game played by the left where one bad interview or one gaffe automatically disqualifies conservatives from being taken seriously. If that’s the criteria we’re using, then Joe Biden needs to resign immediately since he told Couric that FDR went on TV in 1929 as President to explain to the American people why the stock market tanked. Plus he said “jobs” is a 3-letter word. And don’t get me started on Barack “57 states, corpse-man, Austrians speak Austrian, inflate your tires, ATMs and kiosks cost jobs, profits & earnings ratio, Muslim faith, shovel ready” Obama.

Exactly , theres a lot of attacks from “republicans” or their operatives.

Like Bachmanns hired gun Ed Rollin multiple times calling Palin unserious and more.

Tina , you could update this piece with that, that people on Bachmanns payroll are attacking Palin.
Which actually shows that Bachmann is not a capable leader.

Dare to add some facts.

No one ever has anything substantial to attack Sarah. Her policies are never attacked, it just gets old.
There is no reason, especially from posters on here, not to support her.
My only issue with her has to deal with stalling in making a decision…I think it hurts the “field” in this election.
I think we need to be in the starting gates, running for election, and making sure Obama’s policies are well recorded

See, the reason she appeals to me, other than her record, is that I know she is being truthful.
You can tell this woman really wants to change things for the better.
The quiiter crap & the reality show $hitstorm people stirred up & continue stirring up is a non-issue.
I think the woman did really good things in her short time as Gov.
But the GOP has a bunch of whiny a$$ quitters associated with it.
Are we really going to let the media define who is & who is not acceptable?
Or are we just going to do it ourselves with our vote?

It’s her “unsmoothness” that also appeals to me…we have had the “slick” politician every single time.
If a woman kept dating the wrong kind of guy, the guy that uses her, than dumps her, an “expert” would say, “you are dating the wrong kind of man, the next man you are attracted to, don’t date”.
And I say, we are tired, or we say we are tired of the same old politicians that never follow up with their promises so I say “The next time you see the same ol politician, the slick ‘I have an answer’, than run away from them”…Sarah does not fit that mold.

Let’s face it. Bush, Palin, Obama, Biden. None of these are intellectual heavyweights, and none of them are particularly good orators. We need someone who can truly speak extemporaneously and is bright and . Someone more like Bolton, or Christie. Someone who can speak like Netanyahu did in response to Obama. Someone who can think on their feet and destroy the Keynesian and Progressive arguments with quick wit and reason. So far we are still waiting.

It’s also disappointing that the Palin supporters here don’t realize just how small potatoes we are here at HotAir. There’s maybe 10,000 regulars, maybe 100,000? Not sure, but when you read the comments here you would think that there is some massive Palin ground swell. But when you go out and actually talk to other moderates, conservatives, etc. I don’t hear that much support for Palin. Certainly not enough to beat Obama.

The left desperately wants Palin to be the nominee. Ever wonder why? That, and the MSM knows she makes for good ratings. They are using her now for those twin benefits. I don’t get why the Palin supporters here don’t see that if and when she enters the race, all guns will be trained on her. Ziegler is right. But it’s probably going to take another four years of Obama to convince the Palin supporters here at HA.

better options? oh please tell us what these better options are?

Mitt the used carsalesman?

Timmy the kid that can’t fight his way out of a paperbag?

The pizzaman?

The senator that lost by double digets in his home state?

The congresswoman that has had 5 CoS in 4 years because none can work with her?

The grandpa that thinks 9/11 was blowback and we should hide out in behind our oceans and pray the bad guys don’t attack us….

or the former speaker that couldn’t keep it in his pants because he was just too stressed and hardworking?

which better options are you speaking of?

because if we compare her to Mitt. We would be insulting her intelligence, gravitas, and politcal skill by comparing her to the used car salesman of the gop.

And the fact that Mitt is a quitter…he has quit Bain several times, not just once or twice, but several times he has quit Bain to pursue other jobs.

Don’t you think they would be building her up instead of trying to tear her down if that was the case?
