Good news: Weiner gets job offer

posted at 9:12 pm on June 16, 2011 by Allahpundit

I don’t mean to keep harping on him now that he’s fallen on his sword, but it’d be nice to have a happy ending to this otherwise horribly sordid story. And … we might have one. The job pays well — 20 percent better than being a congressman, in fact — and he’ll love, love, love his work.

Dude, seriously, I think he should take it.

Mr. Weiner:

After having learned of your sudden and compelled resignation from your Congressional post, I would like to make you an offer of employment at [Larry] Flynt Management Group, LLC in our Internet group. As a Congressman, you are known for your intensity and perseverance. I believe that this attitude, combined with your service in the House of Representatives’ Committee on Energy and Commerce, will make you a valuable asset to this corporation…

I cannot emphasize enough the genuineness of this offer. We are a serious corporation which, as you know, has been heavily involved in the political environment of this country for over thirty-five years. Our key missions have consistently included the crucial fight of battling hypocrisy within the federal and state governments. Flynt Management Group, LLC and Hustler Magazine have been dedicated to decades of serious political commentary. Just as we do not undertake insincere political crusades, we do not make insincere job offers.

While this employment opportunity is being offered in large part due to your qualifications and clear passion for making a change, I feel that your unfortunate resignation is a prime example of unfounded political pressure and the hypocrisy that has invaded democracy in Washington D.C. I hope you will sincerely consider this offer, and I look forward to your response.

I’d always thought of him as more of a Penthouse type of guy, but Hustler has the sort of blue-collar, populist authenticity that might catch his fancy. If not that, then he really has only two options: Beg Bill and Hillary for a job somewhere, possibly working for Clinton’s charity, or embrace his destiny and start dialing cable news executives. KP seems to think he’s CNN material, but I prefer Chris Matthews’s idea. They’ve already got Colmes; why not Weiner? Seriously, what’s the alternative?

Tony737 on June 16, 2011 at 9:22 PM

The guy is some kind of sociopath. Siiiick. Big time.

The unasked question is what on earth is wrong with KP who dated him and HA who married him? They must have some real issues too. One thing is certain, they have lousy judgement and should never be trusted on any issue.

Perfect. One shameless attention whore hooking up with another.

And you don’t battle hypocrisy – you fight hypocrites. That would open up the field a little bit to, say, Congressmen who want to remove statues because they “demean women” yet still find the time to send women unasked pics of your junk to see if they like it.

But then again, that term “hypocrisy” is merely a dog-whistle for leftys. It allows them to keep their blinders on.

Now to mock you and your partisan stupidity.
CJ, are you saying you would’ve been more gentle with the Weiner?

CJ? Does that stand for Crying Jack*ss? Do you cry for Weiner?
Yes, how dare we make fun of a man with a self inflicted political injury. Why that would be right up there with lying about why the war in Iraq took place and the attempt to undermine the WOT all for political gain.
Having poisoned the well of political discourse, the left wants to complain about the taste of the water. You are reaping what you have sown, CJ.
Enjoy your soylent BROWN. Hahahaha!

Anthony Weiner, Larry Flynt, Gloria Allred…I’ve never seen a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.

vcferlita on June 16, 2011 at 10:29 PM

I think they should woo Parker back and add Anthony at CNN. Then it could be: Wiener Parker and Sptizer, or Parker Wiener and Spitzer.

That sounds almost lewd.

Tennman on June 16, 2011 at 10:30 PM

*fnerk* hmm…trying to think nice thoughts about the Weiner….I’d rather do Meghan, and would much rather eat my toes than do her, all in all….

Fortunata on June 16, 2011 at 10:31 PM

Falling on your sword does not include “I need to heal from all the things I’ve done.” I usually agree with you big guy, but what we have here is a narcissist sociopath. They don’t fall on swords, and instead manage to wound everyone around them.

Actually, Alan Colmes is one of the more consistent Liberals.

Snake307 on June 16, 2011 at 9:30 PM

The basic problem here is the fact that ALL elected officials want the “little peeps” to show respect and deference to them because they are ‘Elected Officials’. The want the peeps to revere them and look upon them as role models for the younger ‘peeps’. That would be a fine thing but they are all corrupted with being legends in their own minds. Cultural moires don’t flow from the bottom up, they start at the top and filter down as acceptable standards for the masses.

Alan Colmes may be a consistent liberal, the problem is liberalism distorts the perception and allows the acceptability of behavior that would otherwise be not acceptable in a moral society. Alan Colmes may be consistent but from my perspective he is unacceptable.

There will always be jobs for someone with Weiner’s overwhelming sense of self-importance.

Aronne on June 16, 2011 at 11:24 PM

I’m rather perplexed because Flynt, as much as people may dislike him, truly does stand up for people’s liberties and First Amendment rights.

That’s why I’m somewhat shocked that he is willing to have someone that lied to such an extent and utterly decimated any trust he may have had with anyone near him.

That just doesn’t sound like Flynt’s bag.

Unless, Flynt is thinking of just using him as a mouthpiece to get to understand the inner workings of Congress a little better. Which is still somewhat perplexing because Weiner, from all accounts, was not that likable of a guy.

Think of the part this demented hateful loon has played in helping drive the liberal steamroller all over everyone in this nation.

He and his ilk have destroyed trillions in personal wealth and forced us to eat many of their crap sandwiches that are systematically driving us to bankruptcy and oppression if he hadn’t been caught he and his pals would be trying their best right now to continue ruining all we hold dear and now that he’s gone they’ll return to their vindictive harmful efforts.

Having partied in New Orleans during my bachelor party with Larry’s bro, Jimmy (who claimed he ran the internet side of Hustler), and his entourage, I can assure you this is a perfect match. Sleaze on sleaze. And Weiner’s naturally wired enough that he won’t have to spend all the dough on whatever they all found so “stimulating” in the restroom.

tbradshaw on June 17, 2011 at 8:34 AM

Only job he’s qualified for is a… hand job.

petefrt on June 17, 2011 at 8:38 AM

Colmes illustrates the left’s ideology-above-truth mantra pretty well. The belief that one’s personal life implies nothing about their proffessional life is false. It is precicely what Weiner’s personal life implies about him that the left likes:
-no morality
-lies are an important tool
-traditional families must be destroyed

Democrats like Colmes are disgusting.

Hilarity on display in that statement.

Sure, AP et al should ignore the freak show that is the Dem Party, not point, shutup and let the Dems run the country. If not, then AP/we are even worse than the freaks. ROTFL

Narcissism and mental illness in the GOP? More ROTFL. Talk about projection.

This is just more whining, like the AOL headline today crying crocodile tears about conservatives “mercilessly mocking” Obama for his ATM gaff. I don’t recall mercy being part of the left’s repetoir during Reagan’s or ‘W’s administrations.
