Poll: What was the Obamateurism of the Week?

posted at 9:00 am on June 12, 2011 by Ed Morrissey

Time to get focused, because we’re gonna face some headwinds in picking the Obamateurism of the Week!  Making a choice is a bumpy road indeed this week, even with the daily briefing you get here at Hot Air.  If you can’t choose one, just remember that failure is the ultimate example of success in this administration.

Previous 2011 “winners”:

Got an Obamateurism of the Day? If you see a foul-up by Barack Obama, e-mail it to me atobamaisms@edmorrissey.com with the quote and the link to the Obamateurism. I’ll post the best Obamateurisms on a daily basis, depending on how many I receive. Include a link to your blog, and I’ll give some link love as well. And unlike Slate, I promise to end the feature when Barack Obama leaves office.

It’s all about the economy – yet the economy is the very thing which Obummer can only talk about, not DO anything.

I like the screencap. DWS must be describing Weiner’s Twitter photos to Obama. She seems pretty happy about them.

It’s obvious that O is charmed by his own personna; thus, his constant campaigning. He thrives on adulation from his fan club. He has never stopped being the candidate.

The fact that he has so little interest in the daily economic briefings is indicative of his passive aggression. He has an agenda of redistribution to guide him. Everything is working towards his plan of helter-skelter.

OT: DWS on Meet the Press this morning. Here, in SW Ohio, I have to wait until 10 a.m. EST for MTP. I usually don’t watch it, but today might be worth the heartburn just to watch DWS squirm about Weiner and, in turn, to see if Gregory gives her some grief about her rocky start.

I guess this is the transparency Ø talked about during his other presidential campaign. Has he talked about it recently?

Bryson would qualify as an unaffiliated voter. He voted for Republican George W. Bush in 2000 and 2004 and for Obama in 2008. He’s ready to back Obama again

“This economic thing we’re going through right now, he inherited that,” Bryson said. “Quite honestly I just don’t see anybody in the Republican side that’s strong enough to win the thing.”

That was before the Unions and Hollywood crowd found their bank accounts were runnin’ a bit low. Now he’ll have to look overseas for funding—(remember the credit card restrictions Obama removed that allowed millions to suddenly flow into his account?) 50sGuy on June 12, 2011 at 10:16 AM

Obama is not a good man, nor is he a nice man.

He is not performing as the US President, as he spends more time trashing and demonizing the USA and US citizens, even while he is overseas among others, and he spends more time praising other leaders, other people, and other cultures and their histories, than he does the USA and US citizens.

He is a blatant, heavy duty liar, who has told more lies since becoming presideng alone, than most children tell in the first ten years of their lives, lying about the economy, security, mandated government medical “insurance,” and more.

The fact that such a dispicable man got elected speaks volumes to the poor quality, low level of intelligence, conscience, consciousness, awareness, knowledge, values, mores, morals, and judgement of our fellow voters.

I do not have confidence in the voters voting this man, and other sickos, out of office, especially with so many illegals, and others, being given a free pass, and thus, becaue they want government largess in their corner, they will fatten the voter rolls for support of such terrible persons as Obama.

I muted her at that point. I’m at a loss with Vitter. He’s largely an invisible senator. Maybe the RNC senator should have just admitted that at the time, the fate of the country meant that we keep a GOP senator. Otherwise, Obama would have done more destruction.

Beyond that, I don’t like the RNC chairman’s approach on this. He should have stuck to Weiner, calling him a disgrace and a lying sack of sh*t pervert who should have no say in national policy making–especially when he’s the de facto spokesman for the Democratic Party in DC. Instead, he wandered off into RNC talking points. Who preps this clown?

I have to go with the economic briefings. Out of all the choices, it’s the most potentially damaging if a Conservative candidate is bright enough to bring it up during the campaign race. Wrangler, headwinds and the restaurant? Oh, all the fault of his speechwriters. Obama might be a bit at fault for reading it out, but really, it wasn’t him! And not being focused on 2012? That’s only relevant now, by the time the debates truly begin hardly anyone will notice.

/faux-liberalism off

But the briefings? Can’t you just see Obama’s opponent (whomever he or she may be) slamming him in the face with that during a debate? “Mr. President, could you perhaps tell me how, during the worst economical crisis this country has faced since 1929, you felt it was in the best interests of this county and your responsibilities to cancel the specific briefings on the state of the economy that you had previously endorsed?”

OT; I was at a community briefing for the NE Arizona Wallow fire yesterday. I live about 36 miles NNE of the northern advance of the fire. A kid asked the incident commander if Obama was aware of the fire. He answered by saying that the White House was requiring briefings every day. The howler about this is it was government rules that caused this disaster. The fire started in a wilderness area and many locals offered to take their backhoe/dozers in and cut a fire line to stop the fire. The forest service refused. No vehicles are allowed in wilderness areas. While the rules aren’t Obama’s they illustrate him to a tee. He’s focused on the fire but won’t waiver/rescind the rules to help stop it. He’s focused on the economy but he won’t waiver/rescind the regulations that our burn it to the ground. He’s focused on Job creation but he won’t waiver/rescind the regulations that restrict wealth creation. The wallow fire is the perfect metaphor for the Zero.

Tough week, Barry. Hard to choose from among these shining examples of the quality of your leadership. I think that a compendium of these occasions might just be used against you in a court of public opinion come 2012. Not that anyone is focused on that yet, of course.

Still, the “Restaurant at the End of the Recovery” (apologies to Mr. Adams’ memory) is the best example of what is missing in this administration. Awareness of reality.

Freelancer on June 12, 2011 at 7:58 PM

Cancelling the daily Economic Briefing is proof that Obama is totally incapable of the serious business of governing.

He just likes to “play president,” ride in the big cars, and go on expensive vacations every week. But there is absolutely no substance to Obama: he’s just a mean little boy who thinks its clever to break things and who cannot be constructive.
