Palin e-mail bombshell: Sarah is “Team Edward,” Todd is “Team Jacob”

posted at 7:20 pm on June 10, 2011 by Allahpundit

Kidding, kidding. In fact, I can’t even take credit for that joke; it belongs to John Podhoretz, who’s joining in the Twitter merriment over the media’s idiocy. Still no news from their big fishing expedition as of 7 p.m. ET. Can you believe it?

Oh no, wait. Wait. Here’s something important from MSNBC:

In one email, dated Jan. 2, 2007 (PDF file opens in a new window), Sarah Palin reminds an aide that even though she’s a hunter, she’s opposed to bear hunting in the McNeil River State Game Sanctuary, 200 square miles of protected wildlife habitat located approximately 250 miles southwest of Anchorage. Her argument invokes fond memories of growing up in Alaska. She writes:

“I am a hunter. I grew up hunting – some of my best memories growing up are of hunting with my dad to help feel our freezer… I want Alaskans to have access to wildlife… BUT – he’s asking if I support hunting the bears in the sanctuary? No, I don’t… I don’t know any Alaskans who do support hunting the McNeil bears that frequent the viewing area. Many Alaskan and Outside visitors view these animals on the McNeil river, within the sanctuary, and, as my parents have reported back after their viewing trip, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience to see such beauty on that river.”

So there you go. If Romney brings up bear-hunting in the McNeil River State Game Sanctuary at one of the debates and Palin claims she’s all for it, she’s obviously a liar who’ll say anything to get elected.

We need a palate cleanser, my friends. Via Magic 107, behold the steely determination of a man bent on demonstrating, in the most vivid possible way, the insanity of the hyper-regulatory state.

It takes some balls to ride your bike into a squad car just to make a point about being ticketed for doing what would be required to ride around it.
Though, I kind of doubt that the officer ticketed him for swerving out of the bike lane to avoid an obstacle.

I’m a bike commuter in Santa Monica.

It’s rare that a week goes by without me having an extremely close call where a driver wasn’t paying attention and almost slammed into me.

Bike commuting will never become more common in this country until we figure out a way to make biking safer.

That said, I also realize that there are plenty of cyclists out there that are d-bags which is also a huge part of the problem. Trust me, I hate the ‘mass effect’ bikers as much as the next person.

In Davis, CA, you can get most places outside of downtown by biking through the greenbelt areas or on bike paths that are actually farther away from the street than the sidewalk. Given that that isn’t an option in New York City, maybe they should consider underground bike paths.

The best way to discredit the media?

Get them to do it to themselves.

When this is all said and done, and the biggest bombshell uncovered is a surprise party for Piper, the entire MSNBC, WaPo, NYT, feeder fish outfits working with them on this fresh diversion from having to actually report on the epic failures of “Duh One”, you’re going to see an utter collapse in the viability of those media outlets and, just my opinion, more than a little vindication for Palin, plus a rehab of her public image as people realize two things:

1. The media wasted all that time and effort fixated on one person who isn’t even an elected official and not in any way responsible for the worst economy since the The Depression, rather than looking into and holding to account the persons who are…and start to wonder “why?”.

and

2. Everything they were ever told about this woman, by those same fools in the media, is complete and utter bulls***.

They don’t understand that, the beating they gave her that damaged her “favorables”, etc… is going to be the same thing that brings those numbers up as they continue their now completely discredited onslaught.

I’m not sure it’s fear; just instinct and typical lib groupthink.

Sarah is a red cloth, and the MSM and their lib cohorts are the bull. They are not capable of rational thought when it comes to Palin, just blind, seething hatred. It’s pathological and, quite frankly, scary.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we eventually see a reprint of “The Poisonous Mushromm” with Palin as the new main character. Yeah yeah, I know, I Godwin’d this, but seriously, it gets frightening how deep the left’s hatred of Palin sinks.

For example:

“Why isn’t the media reporting on the fact that the President has thumbed his nose at Congress and is continuing his war in Libya without authorization?”

“Oh, I don’t know. They’re probably busy ‘checking the email’”.

Another usage:

“Is the media seriously reporting another non-story about Sarah Palin’s bus tour?”

“Of course! You know how they like to “check the email” when she’s involved.”

Twilight Book and Movie series
: Edward is a vampire and Jacob is a werewolf. They both are passionately attracted to Bella, who is filled with teen angst and attitude.

I read them; as I am Romanian gypsy in heritage and a fan of vampire fiction, I was curious as to the direction this generation was taking the story. I enjoyed the last book best.

Personally, I am “Team Jacob” all the way. He is a classic “alpha” to Edward’s pale “beta”.

Palin has not always hated the press.

But she has always been annoyed by wealthy elite outsiders.

It takes a lot of work to install a tanning bed in the governor’s mansion.

Palin once thought Barack Obama gave a “pretty cool” speech. (only because he stoled her ideas)

The Palins met what appears to be an Elvis impersonator.

Palin is a true working mom–she notes she did official state business the day she gave birth to her son. (true grit)

The press has very mixed feelings about the latest Palin frenzy. (mixed as in many are simply ROFLTAO at you PDS people)

“We now retire the Canard that the left thinks Palin can’t win… I’m sorry if the two biggest major American newspapers organs to promote liberalism and the Democratic party are recruiting people all over the world for the express purpose and hope of finding dirt on Sarah Palin, we have to assume that… The left fears Sarah Palin in the way that Satan fears Christ… The mainstream media is so anxious, so obsessed with Sarah Palin’s destruction that they are willing to use a tactic that even the most Pollyannaish media supporter can not deny the bias inherent in it. In fact a tactic so destructive that they desperately tried to deny it… The amount of sympathy this is going to generate for Palin among the not involved is considerable and will not be easily countered. Even the attempt to spin something complicated that they might find will still pale before the idea that the media has decided to recruit hundreds of people worldwide to go through someone’s e-mail with the express purpose of destroying them. This is the death knell for the anti-Palin movement’s credibility, and a disaster for every single GOP opponent to her who will be forced to denounce it. Amazing, simply amazing!”

But you want to know whose information they left in?

Any person who wrote to criticize the Governor has their email and phone number out for the Palin cult to attack. Sarah Palin once again used a seeming “attack” on her (aka, a request for transparency) as an opportunity to turn the guns of her internet vigilantes on her detractors. This is an outrageous compromising of those citizen’s privacy and safety.

Actually, according to Andrea Mitchell, Sarah Palin’s legal team went through it and didn’t request any additional redactions from what the state had already made (removing personal and privileged info). I’ve seen a couple of pages that were completely redacted, so it looks like what was passed out is the whole enchilada from those years.

What’s funny is that Sarah Palin couldn’t have been too concerned about the contents since her legal team had seen it all before. She told Chris Wallace that some things could be twisted out of context, but as for the facts — she lived through it all. She knew that there was nothing serious to worry about.
