Quotes of the day

“Shortly after Republicans swept last November to a historic victory in which Sarah Palin was credited with playing a central role, the former Alaska governor pulled aside her close aide, Rebecca Mansour, to discuss a hush-hush assignment: Reach out to conservative filmmaker Stephen K. Bannon with a request. Ask him if he would make a series of videos extolling Palin’s governorship and laying to rest lingering questions about her controversial decision to resign from office with a year-and-a-half left in her first term. It was this abdication, Palin knew, that had made her damaged goods in the eyes of some Republicans who once were eager to get behind her potential 2012 presidential campaign…

“The fruits of that initial conversation are now complete. The result is a two-hour-long, sweeping epic, a rough cut of which Bannon screened privately for Sarah and Todd Palin last Wednesday in Arizona, where Alaska’s most famous couple has been rumored to have purchased a new home. When it premieres in Iowa next month, the film is poised to serve as a galvanizing prelude to Palin’s prospective presidential campaign — an unconventional reintroduction to the nation that she and her political team have spent months eagerly anticipating, even as Beltway Republicans have largely concluded that she won’t run…

“‘This film is a call to action for a campaign like 1976: Reagan vs. the establishment,’ Bannon told RealClearPolitics. ‘Let’s have a good old-fashioned brouhaha.’…

“If she does decide to run, ‘The Undefeated’ will be the key element to her initial coming-out party. The film’s impending release — and the frenzied media attention that it is sure to generate — will serve as a vivid wake-up call that despite the many obstacles in front of her, Palin’s entry into the race would turn the campaign on its head in an instant, just as it did in 2008.

“As she mulls her decision in the coming weeks, the other Republican candidates in the field will be left to prepare for a hibernating grizzly who appears poised to rise up once again.”

Now that I’ve read a few of your comments from earlier. You seem affected by Palinistas, why is that? What exactly is wrong with the fervent support of a political figure? Sarah Palin took a lot of hits by the press and she deserves to have a fair shot at this if she chooses to. Palin is a leader not a community organizer, maybe that’s your problem with her. Please help me out. Thanks

No, I want you to name a politician who doesn’t put their family first. besides the obvious- John Edwards, Arnold.

You are trying to make my point fit your narrative. Sorry, not playing that game. Sarah is her own person that makes her own choices as to her priorities. She has made the priority that her faith and family are the top priority. She said so during her resignation speech. She also made the decision to resign in part because of her top priority…her family. Okay Sarah, we get it. Whether you continue or not is dependent on your family. THAT is a decision she should make before she tries to get elected again. Many people in this country do not run because of the effects it will have on her family. She chose to expose her family to political life and now you guys are complaining about it? She is the one that opened her life up to that much scrutiny…can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen!

I have no problem with Sarah’s.

Tennman on May 25, 2011 at 8:26 PM

If I called Palin right now, she would say “csdeven who?”.

If Sarah realizes I have no effect on her image, why are you fixated on me? See, this is a glimpse into the disturbed mind of you people who follow others around fixated. The stalker mentality…..driven by misplaced anger at your inability to force others to your beliefs. Look in the mirror to find the culprit to blame for your derangement.

Again, either get help or Congratulations! You’re doing a great job!

CTSherman on May 25, 2011 at 7:29 PM

Hey, look! You just generated another comment that is off topic! How clever of you to try and stop the vetting of Sarah Palin! How much is she paying you to thread jack Sarah Palin threads into personal insults of Hot Air members? Whatever it is, it isn’t enough!

csdeven on May 26, 2011 at 11:03 AM

You are an obsessive lunatic.

steebo77 on May 25, 2011 at 5:10 PM

Lets see….I am discussing Sarah Palin in a Sarah Palin thread, and you are following me around trying to thread jack.

Obsess much do ya?

csdeven on May 26, 2011 at 11:08 AM

And yes, this is snark. No need to call me an oversensitive ‘Nista.

Psst, it’s not a conspiracy, it’s just that HA never moves a QOTD to the other column. Your paranoia is showing.
