Tony Bennett on Obama: “What’s wrong with having an intelligent man as president?”

posted at 10:15 pm on May 16, 2011 by Allahpundit

A late evening palate cleanser via CNS — and not the first time that they’ve spun video gold from waylaying poor old Tony Bennett. Remember when they caught up to him at an event two years ago and found him urging Americans to support Obama in anything he wants to do? How many trillions per year would the deficit be now if we had taken that advice?

After a day of vigorous Newt-stomping in the comments, we’re not going to wind down by stomping Tony too. Are we? Look at it this way: If smarts are his standard for leadership, we might be able to get him to support Paul Ryan. Which, after months of Mediscaring, could make all the difference among the coveted senior demographic.

A voice and a body marketing itself as a mind.

Some problem with most entertainers.

Ebola sent something us a graphic this weekend that covers this pathetic meme PERFECTLY.

Tony should have JUST SAID NO years ago. He would still have a functioning brain instead of oatmeal container.

Tony Bennett: What’s wrong with having an intelligent man as president?

Not a single thing. Let’s try it for real this time.

Tony just didn’t leave his heart in San Francisco, he deposited his brain there as well.

pilamaye on May 17, 2011 at 8:47 AM

Holy Cow! Now Tony has left his brain in San Francisco.

Herb on May 17, 2011 at 8:52 AM

Mr.Bennet, you wouldn’t know intelligence if it walked up to you wearing a nametag.

Uncle Sams Nephew on May 17, 2011 at 9:13 AM

Tony’s got a right to his opinion. I just wish it was better informed. Wonder what he bases his idea on that the Won is so intelligent.

He’s clean and articulate…and according to Harry Reid, he doesn’t talk like a Negro. That’s all we need to know.

coldwarrior on May 17, 2011 at 9:30 AM

Apparently Tony left his brain in San Francisco.

Bevan on May 17, 2011 at 9:34 AM

I think Tony left his brain in San Francisco, and his brain up his arse.

Correction: He left his heart in San Francisco, and his brain up his arse. :D *blushes* LOL

First of all, why does he think BO is intelligent?

Secondly, cutting govt funding of the arts is not meaning that there is no art. It is saying that the govt should not be funding art.

Music: There are too many rich musicians who do not need govt money. No problem there.
Painting/sculpture: People can make a living creating art. There are sculptures and painting bought everyday from professional artists.
Dancing: Musicians, broadway, etc.
Acting: TV, broadway, movies, etc.
Writing: Authors are even better off today, they can sell e-books which are much cheaper to produce.

Art is commercially viable, nuff said.

Tony Bennett is a huge talent and a great artist. No one ever hired him for his brains.

I suggest a game of Jeopardy with George W. Bush, Al Gore and Barack Obama.

Did that do it?

The problem is we have lots of smart people in DC. Hell, just ask ‘em; they’ll tell you how smart they is and how dumb the rest of us rubes are (and by the fact that we keep electing them they do in fact have a point).

What we need is a wise set of folks there.

Mr. Bingley on May 17, 2011 at 7:54 PM

We’re always asking athletes, actors and singers (people who otherwise would be washing dishes)for their opinions. WHY????
