This was at the end of the anonymous donor article, and it just seems a bit odd. She just got twice what she lost. What’s the fund for exactly?

This is why what you’ve just typed is ridiculous. Sometimes you have to shine a light on scum in order to make them do the right thing. They were trying to steal that money.

That is what bothered me the most about the story, and shame on HotAir for not looking it up.

I have never been to a jurisdiction that did not have some kind of 90day rule for lost items.

I am not surprised the police tried to pull a fast one and violate local, state and constitutional law, they do that all of the time, but when they do people need to stand up to that oppression, even if it is just a simple lost item or money.

I’m unfortunately in Dallas, it used to be a nice city but started turning democrat in the mid 90′s and all the katrina refugees made it solidly liberal. Now there’s graffiti everywhere, crime is through the roof and they raise taxes every couple of years, for the children of course, and no, sadly i’m not kidding, they really did say the tax hike was for the children. I’ve asked to be transferred to San Antonio so i can get out of here, this place is scum city.

Actually the Cowboys home is in Arlington, TX. The liberals made it very uncomfortable for them and the Rangers to stay in Dallas county.

Only thing worse than this policy is that thy are not going to follow it! If this is a permanent change, OK. But it sounds like they just don’t want the heat but will keep the policy.

And it is such a great one. Between it discouraging both the original finder from reporting it and the police from finding the original owner, maybe Nothing lost will ever be returned.

Imagine some guy in the apartment next to yours hammering from 10am til 11pm every day for the whole summer. Wana play basketball go to the park or school yard. It seems to have been rather forgotten that Texas was a blue state until the Clinton years. It’s still a fairly purple state in many respects. It is just that the DNC, when they went after Bush, decided that their best course of action was to spit on the entire state, and continue until they either ran out of spittle or the state drowned in it.

The 10 o’clock news is on now on Channel 8, and the City of Dallas continues to backpedal on the return of the reward. WFAA got over 500 emails offering to help Ashley and her family. She’s going to save the money that’s been donated, for a college fund among other things. There’s supposed to be another surprise in store for Ashley tomorrow.

The Dems have taken over Dallas County, and the City of Dallas. It's hard to believe it's the city I grew up in - the Dallas Morning News used to be a conservative paper, when it was run by the Dealeys. Back then, the Dems were in control, but they were conservative Dems.

Dwayne Caraway is the interim mayor (he’s the mayor pro tem), since Tom Leppert resigned to run as a Republican for Kay Bailey’s Senate seat. Caraway is a clown, like Stepin’ Fetchit. He recently had to hide in the closet at his house, when his wife, State Rep. Barbara Mallory Caraway, went after him with a knife (I think she’s bipolar), when they got into an argument after she wanted to throw away some kitchen aprons of his (you just can’t make this sh-t up, folks). He’s also the guy that gave Michael Vick a key to the city. He’s only mayor until June, when Leppert’s replacement is seated.

Today, Ashley received a $4,000 check from an anonymous donor, and the city of Dallas now says she might be able to get the $2000 back in four months, if no one claims it.

The city police kept the money. Ashley probably deserved it, after all the police can do no wrong. /sarc

If they just gave it to her they could make it up in a few minutes doing civil forfeitures at anyone of several highway checkpoints they will be running this weekend.
