Why should the Leftosphere actually read the Ryan plan? They still haven't read the Obamacare bill they blindly passed!!

One protection that should be afforded to ANY self-sufficiency savings plan (health, retirement, ???) is to severely limit the degree to which it can be taken in a lawsuit. It does not serve public policy to award to a plaintiff savings when that award will make the defendant a ward of the state. Any such attachment should be limited to preventing residual monies from being passed along to heirs, except when the amount of the savings is very large compared to the actual need. (Someone awarded the inheritance rights in the far future could (in theory, anyway) transfer those rights for a sum of money in the present in a viatical contract.)
