I will say it without any embarassment or hesitation: Our U.S. Military is AWESOME!!!! The best in the whole world. There, I said it. It doesn’t matter how incompetent the Commander in Chief may be (as is currently the case), our men and women in uniform do what they have to do and they ROCK!!! Of course, Obama’s picture ops over the weekend sort of flopped when the NASA launch got tanked and he only got political points out of the tragedy in Alabama. So he’s bound to use our military guys for political props because of the importance of these developments with UBL’s demise. But we know better and appreciate the true heroes in all this.
You will always remember where you were when you heard the news. I was at 40,000 feet, in the aft galley chit chatting with my Crew, a woman comes back there and says “Hey you guys! I just got text that says bin laden is dead!” … We were like “Wait … What? … You got a TEXT? … Up here?”She showed it to us, “Bin laden dead” so I comped her drinks! HAHA!
Ironically, when 9/11 happened I was asleep, having a very vivid dream about standing in the back of a plane looking forward, all of a sudden I went flying forward as if the plane stopped and the moment launched me towards the front of the plane! I jumped outta bed, standing straight up thinking “What the hell was that?” Ran downstairs, turned on the tv and saw the 2nd plane hit.
Now he’s getting raped in hell by 72 pig-demons! Well done CIA and SeALs!
Was watching Greta late last night and she said she had seen a picture of Bin Laden dead and he was shot dead center between the eye’s, Greta even showed with her finger exactly where the bullet entered.
Finding Bin Laden within 1000′ of the Pakistan Military Academy suggests the Pakistanis are either incompetent or complicit. Excellent work to find him in a “safe” place like this definitely was. The Pakistan government was obviously not told.
What a brave and heroic mission, put together by so many people on so many different levels who sacrificed so much for so many years. I feel truly humbled.
Bill Clinton had the chance to take out Osama bin Laden about 15 years ago, and didn’t. At least Obama wasn’t that foolish.
Well, let’s not be hasty. Obama decidedly had the benefit of hindsight. I somehow doubt Obama would have approved a strike on anyone before 9/11, especially since he opposed the Afghan war after it.
Still, as rickyricardo points out, he does deservecredit for not botching the opportunity with a Kosovo-war Nintendo “Democrat” airstrike that would have simply left us with a pile of rubble and an unlikely claim.
For those that can see Rush: He turned red when he mentioned how proud he is of our guys, on how everything’s done, he was so intense his whole head turned red.
Yet he is a good and wise man for 1: Giving credit to Obama where it’s due, and to remind us that 2: The same teams who brought down Saddam are the ones who took care of OBL. Thanked Obama for not dismantling that team, that op and for continuing with Bush’s mission.
So, what have we won? If you mean, we won because OBL is dead, okay, fair enough. However, if you put this protoplasmic cretin’s death into perspective, we have taken out the guy at the top of the list of high valued targets and now, al Zawahiri has taken his place. At least I hope he has. The emotional release for people is understandable and I am sure cathartic for many of those who lost loved ones on 9/11. I, too, shed tears when reading the stories of those who died that tragic day and prayed that “our God” would smite this evil man down and asked God how could anyone believe in such evil and think they were doing the work of “their God.” But, as time passed, I began to realize how many little freedoms we have lost and how much my world has changed because of one man’s ideology and his vision. President Bush pulled no punches as he counseled the nation in a series of speeches before hostilities began when he told us that this war was going to last a long time and could last for more than 20 years. We are in a “War of Civilizations” and OBL’s death is our biggest victory thus far in our battle against a fanatical cult of death but, the war is far from over. We have won a battle, more symbolic than strategic when set against the backdrop of a global clash of civilizations. I pray that I live to see the day when I read the headline declaring Western Civilization the victor against the Islamization of the world. Until then, let’s try and keep this wonderful achievement in perspective and stay focused on the real prize – our freedom and way of life.

To all my American friends out there… just like i said before… cheers from India. I was an international student in Buffalo when 9/11 happened…the fact that the hijackers were a bunch of terrorists who came into the country on an intl student visa was embarrassing – but the pain of 9/11 was even worse.
RIP to all those innocent souls who perished on 9/11 – this September, as always we will remember you.. but we will be glad that your deaths did not go in vain…or unavenged.
God Bless the Navy Seals – God Bless America.
So for those who asked “Who’s next ?” – i sincerely wish that it is the former chief of the Pakistani intelligence (ISI), Hamid Gul who was behind the 26/11 attacks on Mumbai… heck i would say, go after the ENTIRE PAKI Intel, army.
America would never allow India to get the paki bad guys… hope all that changes now.
It is 11 pm here in India… the rat bastard’s death is the only news out here..there is a complete freeze on all other “news”. We are piss poor at getting back at the terrorists who kill Indian citizens – but at least we can join in some American revelry, can we not ?
I hope every squishy little jihadi wannabe in the world is watching today, and that these demonstrations have tightened their sphincters just a little bit.
The best part of watching the non-military young students celebrate is realizing that their lefty professors have not gotten to them. The profs must be fit to be tied! :)
Blowback
