Finally: The EPA climate change rap

posted at 10:20 pm on April 20, 2011 by Allahpundit

To cleanse the palate, via the Washington Times and the Right Scoop, this … appears to be real.

I don’t want to oversell it, but it might be the greatest hip-hop track since Joe Biden and Jay-Z dueted on “High-Speed Rail.”

Blowback

they paid someone for that.

The USA is where we are to kick a new trend and to raise the bar. The climate is changing and that’s a fact, bears don’t know when to take a nap, On top of that it won’t be cool when the flood waters rise and mosquitoes rule. It’s time to get off the couch and start to move.

Again, they paid someone for that.

Wow. Now I can’t wait for the rap on ObamaoCare!

Timothy S. Carlson on April 20, 2011 at 10:24 PM

Obama paying his base for votes… one bad rap song at a time.

RalphyBoy on April 20, 2011 at 10:25 PM

5:11? Sorry no.

The suck is strong with this one…oh, that’s right, it’s Obama again.

A fitting coda to Western Civilization…

I was thinking it was a sign of the Apocalypse even before the demonic ending.

theperfecteconomist on April 20, 2011 at 10:52 PM

Just another proof-point that AP hates us. At 2min, I had to shut it off… BLECH!

CliffHanger on April 20, 2011 at 11:01 PM

Channeling Dana Carvey channeling George H. W. Bush:

Nope, not going to do it. Wouldn’t be prudent…

hillbillyjim on April 20, 2011 at 11:07 PM

AP, I want Heavy Metal. None of this cRap. this is sad…..

maineconservative on April 20, 2011 at 11:10 PM

Speed it up a little bit and it’s 2 Live Crew’s “The F*ck Shop (Language Warning, very NSFW)“. Sorta like how “Who Ya Gonna Call” is Huey Lewis’ “I Wanna New Drug” sped up a bit.

token on April 20, 2011 at 11:11 PM

Is it deliberately supposed to sound 30 years old for Awesome Retro reasons, or was it written and produced by old crumblies who think this is what modern rap sounds like?

Sharke on April 20, 2011 at 11:17 PM

We no longer produce the manufactured goods we consume due in large part to the hyper-regulator burden imposed by the EPA. Instead, we produce useless overpriced nanny state “rap” jingles financed with our confiscated wealth and property at the behest of the same job killing EPA.

I wonder what the EPA’s promotional/propaganda budget is for this year. Can we cut that Mr. Boehner? or is this essential?…would cutting this deprive grandma of heart medicine?

People are losing their jobs, homes, and businesses. Yet, we can still go on wasting tax money of this kind of frivolous sh!t. God Help Us.

DeathB4Tyranny on April 20, 2011 at 11:21 PM

Who wants to bet this is Barry freestylin in the oval office?

demotheses on April 20, 2011 at 11:21 PM

Also this is why we need to raise taxes… so we can have GOOD raps… on every issue… maybe this will get Obama to stop posting on facebook and whitehouse.gov all day.

demotheses on April 20, 2011 at 11:22 PM

This a perfect example of redundancy. We are already paying the Northern Nevada Cowboy Poets to bust out rhymes. Why not just have one of these fat government subsidized rugged individuals write the EPA propaganda jingle? Thus eliminating the need to hire the no talent idiot that produced this piece of excrement.

DeathB4Tyranny on April 20, 2011 at 11:29 PM

The Administration of the First Black President made this.

And you’re gonna trust them with your Healthcare?

Less on April 20, 2011 at 11:49 PM

Got to 2:42 and that only because I got distracted by something else and kind of tuned out what was going on.

We paid for that? Scratch that, our children and grandchildren paid for that bit of screed?

This one promoting the climate change lies. Monday it was Urkel promoting his US Oil Production higher than ever last year lie. Yes, it was a lie.

When we kill ourselves
Rather than listen to this,
Think of th savings!

Haiku Guy on April 20, 2011 at 11:57 PM

We be squanderin’ yo’ money!
Pourin’ shekels down a rathole!
So that top phat dudes in D.C.
Can make everything a hassle!

You will cringe beneath our dictates!
Goin’ Green until it hurts you!
Drive those 40 mile electrics
On that days that we will say to!

E- P -A!
We get our way!
Shut your little pieholes
And begin to pay!

profitsbeard on April 20, 2011 at 11:58 PM

I’m really beginning it’s time for people to stop listening to the EPA and other 3 letter agencies. Those folks and business on the Gulf Coast should just go back to the rigs and start drilling and pumping oil again. We are a free country and should start acting like free men, not slaves to a federal bureaucracy.

AZfederalist on April 21, 2011 at 12:04 AM

Don’t be so harsh on this. You need to listen to it in its proper context to fully appreciate it. I thought it sounded like a** too, until I went and put on my Captain Joblessness cape.

Bruce MacMahon on April 21, 2011 at 12:09 AM

Even the Mets’ “Our Team, Our Time” is like, “Dude”.

The Mega Independent on April 21, 2011 at 12:26 AM

PSA rap champion MC Double Def DP is not impressed.

Scrutineer on April 21, 2011 at 12:50 AM

Wow, I feel the cold hard slap in the face of the reality that our proposed cuts to spending might mean the government could no longer produce essential services like this.

Adjoran on April 21, 2011 at 1:31 AM

And Rebecca Black got death threats????????????

flytier on April 21, 2011 at 6:30 AM

There should be a requirement that at the entrance to all government buildings (local, state and federal) a giant sign be posted that says to the effect:
“Just because we are in the government does not mean we have the correct solutions to problems or do the right thing”.

Also thinking this should be a mandatory sign on the doors of all government managers, dept. heads, bosses, elected officials.

albill on April 21, 2011 at 6:55 AM

Ok, I lasted 55 seconds into this.

I want everyone in the EPA fired. Today. Don’t clean out your desk, just run for the exits.

To think that my tax money was used to pay for anything this inept makes this a sin against both Liberty and common sense. That’s ASIDE from whether climate change is anthropogenic or not. This is just totally terrible crap that should have caused massive unemployment among government workers without it ever seeing the light of day.

Hyunchback on April 21, 2011 at 7:07 AM

Can I hear Rebecca Black’s “Friday” on an endless loop instead?

Dr.Cwac.Cwac on April 21, 2011 at 8:05 AM

Where’s the guy with the golden spatula teaching me about the 4 corner press?

Dr.Cwac.Cwac on April 21, 2011 at 8:11 AM

OK, that’s the worst thing I’ve ever heard, and I actually enjoy listening to Lou Reed’s Metal Machine Music to relax.

So much about this pisses me off, but most of all it’s this unspoken assumption that to motivate kids to save electricity or water you have to threaten them with the DEATH OF THE PLANET; e.g., if your mom and dad drive a car today the planet will flood and all polar bears will die. But apparently if you’re not SAVING THE PLANET it’s not worth doing.

I started to record a parody version in my little home studio but Nancy Pelosi’s office called and demanded to know who was funding it.

saint kansas on April 21, 2011 at 8:26 AM

Another reason to de-fund EPA.

petefrt on April 21, 2011 at 8:27 AM

This is what I hate about when the libs start crying about how if we cut any spending we have to cut firemen and police – BS!! We spend gobs of money on stupid crap like this everyday. I always use the example of the government PSA where they try to tell kids not to take naked pics of themselves on their i-phones and email them.

Yeah- no cuts here….

Free Indeed on April 21, 2011 at 8:55 AM

Please do not tell me tax dollars went to pay for this!

I am still reeling from the idiotic capes-for-the-unemployed
boondoogle from yesterday, for crying out loud!

Let’s recycle Obama. He can serve meals to seniors. Maybe he can be a train conductor.
