It’s come to this: Six-year-old gets TSA patdown
posted at 7:58 pm on April 11, 2011 by Allahpundit
Via Fox Nation, here’s the best idea that the richest, most technologically advanced country in the history of the world can come up with to guard against the slight — but real — risk of children being used as mules for weapons. And believe it or not, it could have been worse. From an item on the TSA Blog posted last November:
Myth: All children will receive pat-downs.
Fact: TSA officers are trained to work with parents to ensure a respectful screening process for the entire family, while providing the best possible security for all travelers. Children 12 years old and under who require extra screening will receive a modified pat down.
It doesn’t look real “modified,” frankly. But that’s the bad news. The good news is that the feds finally figured out that it’s better to stop people affiliated with terrorist groups from boarding a plane in the first place than to let ‘em board and question them when the plane lands. Great to hear, coming just … 10 years after 9/11. Hopefully by the 20th we’ll have figured out a way to check pre-schoolers for bombs without patting down their crotches.

What I commented on Fox Nation about this:
Remember when airline travel used to be fun. Now it’s a chore. It sets passengers nervous and uneasy, flight crews are over stressed, and airlines less than hospitable. In effect, the traveling public are all terrorists until TSA screening is completed on them. It slows down the check in process and makes travel time unnecessarily lengthy. Worse, it offers no real security or protections.
Until they start profiling, they will never restore travel to the level it was before the government capitulated to the religion of peace.
Kini on April 11, 2011 at 8:07 PM
Much as I hate the idea that these monsters are willing to molest children for pay, there is something far, far more scary revealed here.
Allahpundit, please pay attention and scream in the updates.
The TSA goon is wearing gloves, which if you spend the day feeling around in strangers’ underwear is probably a good idea. BUT SHE DOES NOT CHANGE GLOVES BETWEEN VICTIMS!
That may protect the TSA workers, but it could in fact kill the people they feel up in these panty raids. No danger you say? then why is the TSA wearing the gloves?

No six year old masterminds a terror plot and travels alone. WTF are they doing patting down a child without questioning the adults first?
Utter stupidity.
byepartisan on April 11, 2011 at 8:09 PM
There’s only one group of people that dresses their children in explosives.
It’s not hard to figure that out, and we don’t know a government agency to screen for that either.

Watching that little girl’s face looking at her Mom, turns my stomach. Has it really come to this?
d1carter on April 11, 2011 at 8:11 PM
So, wait. They didn’t find anything? As soon as she came into the picture my first thought was “I gotta baaaaad feeling about this one. Twenty bucks says she’s packing 40 pounds of buckshot and a VT fuse under her shirt.”
I’m surprised, but thankful that I seemed to have misjudged her.

I’ll start flying again when the TSA is abolished. And that won’t happen until the pubic gets fed up and walks. If there is anything the airlines understand, it’s MONEY.

They should just engage the child in conversation. Last time I flew, the TSA noted my just expired ID (it expired while we were out of state on a family emergency). My daughter then proceeded to tell every TSA agent she saw about my expired ID the whole trip home.

Our government is truly out of control. The scary thing, is that now that child thinks it is “normal” to be required to submit to what is essentially a strip search. Which means, as our rights and freedoms are being eroded before our very eyes, so will hers. In another 2 generations, we’ll have mandatory searches for bus rides, employment, entering public places, in our homes, in our cars, everywhere and anywhere. Our populace will grow accustomed to being treated as chattel, and will live in a society akin to that of Nazi Germany.

Travelling in the U.S. by air?
Bring some valid photo containing I.D. Preferably a U.S. passport. Be prepared to show it multiple times.
Remove your shoes before being permitted to board the aircraft.
Also, remove your belt. Oh, and for the ladies, remove your jewelry. Men, your watch may have to go. Of course, empty your pockets of just about everything.
Don’t forget to remove your hat, jacket, sweater, coat, sweatshirt or any other bulky exterior clothing items.
Now, a little minor radiation from a metal detector, if you’re lucky. If not, …
then, congratulations, you’ve won the daily (actually every few minutes) lottery. Your prize:
a) A demeaning if not humilating scan in the new “low radiation” full body scanner where you get to stand awkwardly with feet spread, hands raised, arms outstretched in front of everyone for a few lucky few who get to see everything. I now know what it feels like to be processed when entering prison.
Oh, did I forget to mention that with option a, you also have to depart with your wallet as the scanner can’t see through it (unlike your clothes).
b) Either by default or by opting out of the scanner, you get the other Welcome to prison processing procedure, the all over pat down, a la the six year old in the above story.
Let me remind you, this is all for a commercial air flight. Any objections to any of the protocol will find you either out on your butt in the street in front of the terminal in a heart beat, or under arrest.
Now then, you say you want to vote in a federal election in one of the most important functions of a democracy in the U.S.? Present an I.D. at the polling booth? What! Are you kidding?

I’m not going to pretend I ever did much travel via airline, but today, even if I had the need, I wouldn’t for one moment consider it. The current screening process — whether for adult or child — is a gross violation of human dignity and common sense. Seeing children patted down only serves to make those violations more vivid.

France is a particularly interesting case. Their cultural pride helped create the poorly assimilated (Muslim) immigrant population. Yet, that same cultural pride (coupled with secular values) might be the very thing which saves it. It’s a start, at least.

This is little more than social conditioning, same as the ’80s running-out-of-landfill-space/recycling movement, the ’90s diversity (of color)-at-all-costs movement, and the ’00s global-warming movement. Teach the young children that it must be done and that parents who oppose it are ignorant, wrong-headed, or anti-safety, and all you have to do is wait.
After 20 years of these
molestationssafety protocols, this child will believe this is the norm.Who knows what her little girl will have to endure…

Well, a couple more times through the feel up from T.S.A. and this little girl will be prime for a child molester. She has been taught that a person in uniform is allowed to touch her any where they want to. I drove to Florida, to Oklahoma then back to Florida rather than have my 9 year old Granddaughter be subjected to being felt up by T.S.A. worker. I have taught her to kick anyone that touches her there in the same place they feel. She would do it too. I have not flown and none of my family has flown since they started the enhanced pat down. I still want to know why the pick 6 year old Caucasian child when ignoring Arab Men and Women dressed in loose clothing and there (women) face covered walk right through. Tell the ACLU, C.A.I.R. and anyone else, the bombers, hijackers, and the fighters in the Middle East are Arab Muslim and look noting like 6 year old Caucasian Children.

As others have said, it’s hard to describe the depths of my anger when watching this. The comment about us having to become stupid is so spot on — look at how the little girl is dressed, tight jeans, a tightly fitting shirt; what? Did the TSA think she was packing a howitzer under her shirt? She couldn’t have hidden a stick of Wrigley’s Spearmint gum the way she was dressed, yet the TSA agent still had to sexually molester her?
Unfortunately, I have to travel for work and it is just not practical to drive from Tucson to the East Coast for a 1 day meeting (I have done so for a West coast meeting and will do so in the future). So far, I’ve been lucky and haven’t had my 4′th amendment rights violated. Remember that one Ms. Incompetano? It’s the one that talks about us being secure in our persons and papers and that no search can be executed without a warrant issued with probable cause. My desire to fly on an airplane is not probable cause for a search that in the rest of the country could only be executed with such a warrant or following a stop for a felony violation. As I said, so far i’ve been lucky and haven’t been assaulted (I will be using the phrase about following orders and make sure that the molester is made to feel as badly as possible while remaining respectful of course). All I’ve had to do so far is provide a peek-show view of my glorious, if slightly overweight 52 year old naked body via “secure” wireless link to some TSA pervert in another part of the airport.
Yeah, this is a hot-button for me. Especially after sitting next to a middle-easterner on the plane back to Tucson this weekend who made me nervous as @#$%. The guy was nervous as a cat and feeling around various parts of the airplane window and seat. Kept pulling out a cell phone to check the time. Instead of sleeping, I spent the entire 2 hour flight watching his hands and assessing what tools I had available in case something did happen. I sure felt better knowing that he had gone through a rigorous screening to get onto the aircraft.

I remember a lot of HA members thinking this was within the airlines rights to do. Myself, no, I would have beat the bastard and anyone who tried to stop me.
