If people were honest, the first thing they'd say is we're so far in debt, the future will be painful for everyone, not just Grandma. It's like living off of credit cards for years, and then the credit card company cutting you off. We'll be cut off, one way or another. We're going to have to print more money to pay our debt. And if you think Grandma was going to be in trouble now, that's nothing compared to $10 gas and $5 milk and $5 for a loaf of Butternut bread. And then the Democrats will b!tch and moan, but, guess what? That will be life in America. You won't be able to blame Republicans for that. I blame the demagogues who wouldn't let the Republicans deal responsibly with Social Security in the 1980s.

We’re not going to be able to do anything about any of these entitlements if what we do is characterize whatever proposals are put out there as ‘Well, you know, that’s the other party being irresponsible . . . the other party is trying to hurt our senior citizens.’

“That’s why I say: If we’re going to frame these in the way that allow us to solve them, then we can’t start off by figuring out a) who is to blame; b) how can we make the American people afraid of the other side. And unfortunately that’s how our politics works right now. . . . And so the question is, at what point can we have a serious conversation about Medicare and its long-term liability, or a serious conversation about Social Security or serious conversation about budget and debt where aren’t simply trying to position ourselves politically?” -- Barack Obama, 2010

apocalypse

Hey Allahpundit, I look forward to meeting you in heaven by the side of the river of life. Everything will be brand "sparkling" new and beautiful, like it used to be in the creation week, and it will stay that way. The second law of thermodynamics (sweat, sorrow, pain and death) will have been "removed," for the curse will be gone. Isaiah 65:17, "For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind." A new heavens and a new earth? You mean God is going to fix it back like it used to be and if you are saved you are going to get to live there forever in great happiness? Wow! It is going to be great! I guess now you can see why I hope you're there, Allahpundit. Having you around will be lots of fun without any aging, decay, and death. The Bible says, "God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes" (Revelation 7:17). Our tears of sorrow will be turned into tears of thanksgiving and joy. So do your best to get there, OK. Remember, meet you at the river of life. Well, thank you for listening. Bye for now.

I remember when the dems lost Florida in 2000. C-Span showed their meetings and focus groups and they were being taught how to demagog an issue. How to lie basically.

Wasserman’s circus act is a double edged sword that will probably do more harm to Obama’s election chances than good.

They don’t have Bush hatred, the Iraq war,and an economic crash to run against this time….they have to rely on their record of failure and broken promises.
Wasserman trying to spin this failure into a success story will only help further erode what little credibility democrats have on the issues now.

This is exactly why I smiled when I read she was to lead the DNC. If others have even a close reaction of revulsion I have when I see or hear her,the DNC will be losing Indies by the boat load.

In other words, she’s perfect for this particular job, perhaps.

It’s not about attracting new Democrats, it’s about whipping the base into a frenzy, bleeding them of their dollars, and funding ever more election stealing.

I see your point and understand that part of her job is to energize the base.
..But in the process, she will be turning off valuable independents and energizing Republicans with her over the top rhetoric and easily debunked accusations.
