Obamateurism of the Day
posted at 8:05 am on April 4, 2011 by Ed Morrissey
Jammie Wearing Fool saluted Barack Obama’s multitasking abilities in a post yesterday that compared claims from the President on his waking and sleeping thoughts. On Friday,Obama assured Americans that the economy and jobs were the thoughts on his mind as he transitioned to and from sleep:
“But you should know that keeping the economy growing and making sure jobs are available is the first thing I think about when I wake up every morning. It’s the last thing I think about when I go to bed each night.”
Eighteen months ago, Obama assured Americans that the alpha and omega of his thoughts were on national security:
As President, my greatest responsibility is the security of the American people. It is the first thing I think about when I wake up in the morning. It’s the last thing I think about when I go to sleep at night.
Maybe the first thought that should have been on his mind was hiring a Cliché Czar, someone who can keep up with these rhetorically lazy claims and juggle them properly. However, his first thought yesterday was apparently on his backswing, which has become a cliché all of its own.

Got an Obamateurism of the Day? If you see a foul-up by Barack Obama, e-mail it to me at obamaisms@edmorrissey.com with the quote and the link to the Obamateurism. I’ll post the best Obamateurisms on a daily basis, depending on how many I receive. Include a link to your blog, and I’ll give some link love as well. And unlike Slate, I promise to end the feature when Barack Obama leaves office.

As of this morning his first thought in the morning is how many credit cards did 0-12 process last night.

I’ll have to admit, that this is some slamdunk Monday am snarkiness. I’d use a martial metaphor, but those too are becoming a little cliche’, if you will…

Thinking of the film ALIEN3…
There’s this scene where some of the prisoners along with the irritatingly dense administrator are frantically penne4d in the iron caverns with the Alien Monster running amok all around them.
Someone yells, “what’ll we DOOOOO?!?”
They all pause and think frantically.
Silence, still pausing, still frantic.
Administrator pipes up: “Well, *I’m* all out of ideas!”
Preposterous glares from the frantic bunch at the Administrator.
Alien Monster closing in…

The first and last thing that I think about each day is how to defeat ObaMao’s efforts to destroy our country through his “fundamental change.”

Who cares what he says. The millions unemployed and the college graduates from 2 years ago still looking (but who probably voted for him) do not believe him anymore.
Marcus on April 4, 2011 at 8:19 AM
Let me be clear Ed, I think you’re proposing a false choice between what Obama was thinking about then and what he’s think about now.

wasn’t he interviewed last week and he said that he prays, “right before bed”, every night?
so…which is it?

heh…that’s funny

Does he think of anything other than his narcisstic self?
karenhasfreedom on April 4, 2011 at 8:31 AM
More than anything I hope he’s worried about being a fraud and going to jail. I do think he is worried about it but he is so cocky he thinks he can bluff through it all. We shall see.

How about the 16 hours in between? Nothing, right? You sluff it off on your illegal tsars, who give it to their mid-level staff, who may give it to your actual Cabinet, who give it to their mid-level staff and all of them call your Soros funded groups for advice and they go through their chain of command and come back with nothing.
All the while Obama golfs, eats large, and parties.
And so you go to bed thinking “tomorrow they’ll have something for me” and you wake up saying the same thing, “today they’ll have something for me” but you DO nothing when they don’t.
You are nothing. You have nothing. Your a O.

The fact that Team Obama decided to farm out his 2012 announcment to supporters instead of having Obama himself give a speech tells people the WH understands how deeply unpopular Obama has become.

Further proof (as if any more were necessary) that the CO-in-C is most interested in self-aggrandizement and “a future in politics” no matter what convenient lie he has to manufacture or corrupt scheme he has to implement.
.
I know! Let’s inform the media so they report this presiduncial malfeasance! *chirp* *chirp* *chirp*

franksalterego on April 4, 2011 at 8:56 AM
Exactly. Maybe if he spent some time when he’s not half asleep thinking about national interests…..
Forget that. I’m convinced Barack Hussein Obama is succeeding in his desire to destroy this country.

And that new campaign video is so full of AWESOME!
It says a lot of nothing.
Just like Obama.
Badger40 on April 4, 2011 at 9:04 AM
Obama used to say how he was “not going to rest” until all our problems were solved.
Cut him some slack — he’s tired from all that not resting.

Comrade Barry can smile, swing a golf club and think about basketball…all at the same time! I don’t care who you are…that’s multi-tasking.

My video of it. He used jobs twice, oil spill once, and security three times. I made it two days ago so I was the frist and the most complete not to mention the hours spent finding the clips:
What is the first thing President Obama thinks about when he wakes up and when he goes to bed?

I’ll tell you the first and last thing on my mind every day is how much Giggles has royally effed up my life. Maybe if he actually did think about jobs once in a while we’d have some.
crazy_legs on April 4, 2011 at 10:33 AM
Hahaahaaaa! I wonder if he argues with himself which to think of first and last….
tinkerthinker on April 4, 2011 at 10:48 AM
18 months ago, ‘national security’ was foremost on Obama’s minds, and economy chucking alone (without his close scrutiny) showed signs of recovery (!).
Since then, he has done all he can to destroy our national security, so he is focusing on the jobs and market. Hooray, we are so lucky.
Sir Napsalot on April 4, 2011 at 10:58 AM
Obama sounds like a programmed robot and these cliche’s are wearing very thin. They must use a speech template for TOTUS and insert the correct lines each time. Amazing that POTUS can’t give an original speech ever.
GrannySunni on April 4, 2011 at 11:06 AM
Sounds like he’s doing an IHOP commercial…
BREAKFAST:
“It is the first thing I think about when I wake up in the morning. It’s the last thing I think about when I go to sleep at night.”
Your liberty…..not so much.
Tim_CA on April 4, 2011 at 11:18 AM
A recent interviewer asked Obowma about prayer and he claimed he “prayed every night right before he went to bed”.
Was he praying before he thought about jobs and America’s security or after? Who was he praying to?

But that’s not the purpose of Government. Security is, job creation is NOT. Government needs to get the hell out of the way of job creation. That’s it.

I appreciate the focus of the idiotgram OH! that’s right it is an idiogram of President Obama bowing to his teleprompter.
The drawings focus on the last three letters in “Obamateurism” gave me the thought that every time President sees the ‘ISM’ associated with him I am sure he immediately thinks “It’s so ME”.
