Video: The case for Obama 2012

posted at 11:36 am on April 1, 2011 by Ed Morrissey

Barack Obama will start fundraising for his re-election campaign soon, and what better way to make that successful than to release a video detailing his achievements in office? After seeing this, I’m totally stoked for another four years of Hope and Change.  We have to spend money to cut money, as our esteemed VP reminds us in this video, and more oil imports to free ourselves from dependence on foreign energy sources.  We  also need more focus on the NCAA basketball championship brackets to Win The Future, because we all know that “America needs more changing” (via Jim Geraghty).

Awww — those pesky disclosure requirements from the FEC ruined the April Fools Day joke.  This is the NRSC’s first presidential cycle spot, and it’s pretty darned good.

It’s funny…

… because it’s true.

This is what I was looking for. Underemployement is 20.3%….1 in 5 Americans. This is the true number we should be looking at.

I’m really pissed because I inflated my tires to the proper level and I am still paying $4.00 a gallon for gas.

Please tell me that the Obama Administration is just an elaborate April Fool’s joke and that Jimmah Carter is still president.

And lets not forget inflation. Drudge has a story that WalMart CEO says “serious inflation” will hit all retailers beginning this summer on food, clothing and just about everything.

Fear not, little Bammie will rejigger the metrics used for inflation so those increases don’t show up. He’s always thinking of the little people.

Such an EXCELLENT ad. Pretty much sums up baracks legacy in 60 seconds.

DuctTapeMyBrain on April 1, 2011 at 12:03 PM

heh.. the ad writes itself..

Zippy_Slug on April 1, 2011 at 12:04 PM

Sorry, but I was underwhelmed. Not a bad effort, though. Will watch it again.

At the beginning (look at the screenshot) he sparkles like Edward Cullen.

What a downer.

ProudPalinFan on April 1, 2011 at 12:18 PM

So instead of “morning again in America” feels like we’re in the way back machine to the Carter years and “It’s a nightmare again in America.”

Done That on April 1, 2011 at 12:19 PM

Sad part… most of his supporters won’t get the joke.

mankai on April 1, 2011 at 12:20 PM

The unicorn is powered by rainbows, it is a throw back to last year’s 4/1 ad.

They need another one where agencies and departments with his appointees are corrupt and failing to do their jobs like DHS and DJ.

What about U.S. citizens dying near our borders?

What about voter intimidation?

What about the transparent administration?

annoyinglittletwerp on April 1, 2011 at 11:53 AM

Heh. Mine is 17 as well. Just went on a rant yesterday about how many of his brilliant friends didn’t get into the colleges they wanted (the Ivies sent out decisions yesterday), but somehow all the less-qualified minority students did, including one who got into Brown with a 28 ACT.

Now he is off looking for a job to pay for $4 a gallon gas for his car that has 114,000 miles on it.

No doubt how he is going to vote in 2012.

That wasn’t berry nice,-stop pickin on Barry. He’s a nice man and… and…well– he gives nice speeches– and he’s good at sports stuff.
(Cue the guy crying- stop pickin on Obama).

He’ll be voting in Illinois because he lives with my ex-or wherever he goes to college.
I will be registered to vote in TX on Monday the 11th. I’m doing it when I change ID’s.

(sniff, sniff!) I smell a copyright violation. Very convincing, though. I’d change the slogan to read “Your More Fears!” Still has the same ring to it.

Bob's Kid on April 1, 2011 at 3:37 PM

I don’t like the ad:

1. Liberals and RINOs won’t get the joke: they both are humorless and both have a defective ‘irony gene.’

2. Conservatives WILL get the joke, but they’re not going to vote for Obama anyway.

3. The Ad does not present an alternative to Obama, so it could be perceived as a (poorly-written) Democrat ad.

Political Ads should be written to CHANGE minds, and push voters in a new direction.
