Breaking: Bombing in Jerusalem injures dozens
posted at 10:55 am on March 23, 2011 by Ed Morrissey
Yes, this is definitely a bombing, as Reuters reports today. A small suitcase set outside a bus stop exploded when a bus stopped to exchange passengers, wounding dozens. The bombing could signal the start of a new terrorist offensive against Israel following an uptick in rocket attacks from Gaza in the last few days. CNN reports from the scene:
CNN also has some raw video of the EMT response:
This was their first video report from the scene, when the source of the explosion was not yet known:
A bomb exploded near a bus stop in a Jewish neighbourhood of Jerusalem on Wednesday, injuring at least 30 people, police and medics said.
Police described the explosion as a “terrorist attack” — Israel’s term for a Palestinian strike. It was the first such bombing in Jerusalem in seven years.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast, which police said was caused by a bomb planted close to Jerusalem’s main conference hall and central bus terminal.
Ironically, EMTs in Israel had just been planning a trip to Japan to help with the humanitarian crisis. That will get postponed now, as it appears another intifada may have already begun. That will certainly test the Egyptian military’s commitment to enforcing an arms ban and closed border.

The Israelis staged it to justify more building in East Jerusalem. It’s an old Jewish trick: Kill some of your own, blame it on the victims to justify your other evil deeds–Arafat used it all the time……wait…Arafat wasn’t Jewish…ok, wait. Let me think about this a minute…

Why do Islamics and liberals hate the Jews?
capejasmine on March 23, 2011 at 11:34 AM
I’m sure it’s not terribly PC to say, but really, can anyone argue that the world would not be a VASTLY better place if that religion (of “peace”) suddenly vanished from the earth tomorrow?
Vyce on March 23, 2011 at 11:34 AM
What horrible news. But unexpected? I think not.
I wonder when our liberal trolls will show up to defend this. Last time on one of these threads, we lost 5 people to Ed’ Mighty Ban Hammer.™
But seriously, I asked this last time: What to do with Palestine and the Palestinians? I said, half in jest, that why not pave it with the B52′s, which riled up a few people.
But what else can you do? What Palestine needs is 1) A wall keeping them in, some seeds and water, and no contact with the outside world.
What they REALLY need is mass conversion to any other religion, like Christianity or Hinduism, but that would be problematic, with lots of martyrs of volunteers. I think it could be done, but who wants to go to preach to Palestinians?
So here’s my solution: give the Palestinians one of three choices:
1)Tell them that any rocket fired at Israel means instant annihilation of a neighborhood. Civilians are not off limits; indeed, I am not sure there ARE any civilians in Palestine anymore. Only terrorists that haven’t been caught. I base that on all the enthusiastic demonstrations celebrating mass murder.
2) They must accept missionaries from other faiths and also expel all Radical Imams (as decided by Israel).
3) Just total annihilation. Since they want a war, give it to them. Total war, too. Dresden style.
Palestine doesn’t fear Israel, that’s why they keep doing this stuff. So make Palestinians fear Israel again. If that means decimating ( in the classical sense of one in ten) the population, well, so what? Most of the dead would be terrorists anyway, so no great loss.

I believe Iran/Syria/Hamas are going to attempt to provoke something here in order to focus the attention of their populations on Gaza. I think the plan would go something like:
Precipitate an Israeli attack on Gaza. Iran, Syria, and Hezbollah then express support for Hamas and appeal to the people to stop their protesting during the “emergency” and possibly even call for “volunteers” to go to Gaza and fight Israel. Then the leaders of these countries cast themselves as the guardians of the Arabs against the Israelis in a war they themselves precipitated.

I wonder if Palin’s “Why are you apologizing all the time?” comment will give the Israelis a bit of a push to do what they need to do. I’ve seen it picked up by several Israeli sources saying that this simple question was much deeper than it seems and perfectly frames the situation.

Of course you’re not. But staying all day long on Aussie Dave blog, maybe you missed this part: a large chunk of Israel population, together with your government, is willing to wait to be slaughtered, one by one. At least this is my impression.
At some point the military balance will tip towards Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria and the new “democratic” Egypt – then what? Israel will be toast if does not take on his enemies one by one.
