Video: The final NARN Fleebagger song

posted at 10:30 am on March 13, 2011 by Ed Morrissey

We put a hurting on Tom Petty’s “Free Falling” two weeks ago, which I posted later that week, changing it to “Fleebagging.”  Last week, we destroyed Wings’ “Band on the Run” so thoroughly with our “Dems on the Run” cover that my video edit program went on strike before it would repurpose the clip from the NARN stream.  But this week, we have the real deal in terms of a song spoof of the runaway Democrats from Wisconsin — and this time, we made the wise choice of not performing it live.  Set to Warren Zevon’s “Lawyers, Guns, and Money,” the Northern Alliance presents “Lawyers, Cheese, and Bratwurst” from yesterday’s NARN show:

Mitch put the song to a rather humorous slideshow late last night:

Mitch Berg wrote the lyrics and did all of the instrumentals himself (he’s a talented musician), and sang most of the lyrics.  Our engineer Tommy Huynh threw in a line and mixed it up to the station’s sound board, while I sang the second verse.  All in all, it’s certainly the best single yet from Mitch Berg and the Heartburners, the official NARN house band, but that’s not exactly saying much.  Since the runaway Dems returned to Madison yesterday, pop music is now safe from our tender mercies … at least for a while.

Reminds me of the Dean Scream, for some reason.

Funny, the whole thing. Needed the chuckle.

It is your best effort. I still call for a reprise of the entire 3-song catalog at the MOB Party at the end of the month. I’ll even buy a lighter to hold up like Tommy.

Well done, gentlemen. Most hilarious! Kudos!

OT, here is a great example of the insanity which is liberal thought – made me laugh anyway.

I miss Warren Xevon… Got to see him perform live in San Diego (Golden Hall) a LONG time ago…

He was a lot more talented than “Werewolves of London”, which had a hook and probably made him more money than anything else he ever recorded, but the album “Excitable Boy” is one of my favorites…

Thx NARN, and keep the pressure up on the Fleebaggers and the “Boycott Thugs” in Wisconsin… This fiasco is a long way from being over, and the lefties keep on upping the ante while they are drawing dead (metaphor alert; poker term)…

Best yet! Enjoyed the slideshow.

Speaking of slideshows, am I alone in noticing very few if any minorities marching in Madison? Am I overlooking something, or is this really just another racist group (as liberals have defined such things).

Ah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! “Fleebagger”! It’s so… clever, original, and mature!

It’s really cool how we can be puerile and idiotic just like the deranged left, yet pretend not to be by putting aside the crass sexual innuendo. Bravo!

Please, please get a sense of humor. You’ll be happier and therefore live longer.

Well done, Mitch and Ed. I had a good belly laugh listening to the show yesterday. Now, please let the Heartburners die a quick and painless death. Do it for the children. :)

Perhaps you are right!

The Dems are quite the inspiration for song parodies. The Indiana GOP mock their fleebaggers in song here. Fun.
