Quotes of the day

Via the Daily Caller.

***
“Weird how Christie says absolutely *nothing* about the current president who can’t open his piehole w/o a teleprompter, but goes after Palin…

“.@GovChristie is bad on immigration, 2nd amendment, & supports cap & tax. And he has the gall to even *talk* about Palin?…

“I’m wondering, how long would @GovChristie, @INGovernor & @MittRomney survive under the same kind of scrutiny Palin has for years?”

***
“Chris Christie says what I’ve been saying forever: If Palin wants to prove she has the mettle to stand up to Ahmadinejad, she has to show the mettle of standing up David Gregory and George Stephanopolous. Her FaceBook/Friendly Media agenda proves she can, like Barack Obama, give a fine interview when gently questioned; it doesn’t prove she can actually stand up to the fire.

“I keep hearing she’s the only candidate who’s been baptized by fire but I haven’t actually seen her in fire for quite a long time.

“But Chris Christie, and I, are bad people for noting this, or bad people for wondering what it will take for Palin to reverse her horrible unfavorable ratings.”

***
“We thought perhaps Christie was just too damn lazy to watch 60 minutes of unscripted Palin. So, we figured we’d help him out. We compiled this short 14 minute video of Governor Palin addressing a wide range of issues including healthcare, deficit, budget, energy, environment, foreign policy, civil debate and much more unscripted in front of a group of socially liberal Democrats and Republicans in an area where the Democrat Party is strong.

“Christopher, it took us quite a while to compile this just for you. We assume you’ll take the time to watch it.”

Sarah Palin 2012

DaMav on March 1, 2011 at 4:46 AM

Christie goes poof … RINO hiding under tough talk. What we used to call social liberals, fiscal conservations, “blue dogs”. Then we figured out all it was was a progressive wearing a “dog suit”, in the sheep pen.

tarpon on March 1, 2011 at 5:35 AM

This is just the latest RINO meme against Palin. They don’t dare take her head on, so they just make up what appears to be offering her “reasonable constructive” advice that bares no resemblence to the truth about Palin.

She don’t need your advice.

Epic fail RINOs. It’s ironic that if she didn’t run for Pres, they’d be tripping over themselves to praise her and get her support.

But you catty boys feel free to keep digging yourself deeper into that hole of yours, we Palin supporters will be glad to watch you get mired in your own mud.

Palin 2012 – live with it RINOs.

Done That on March 1, 2011 at 5:39 AM

Pretty good clip. Let’s say for a moment she decides not to run for the presidency. Who will get her endorsement? The list is definitely getting shorter. Word up to potential GOP candidates: You WILL need her support, conservatives will not just ‘support the winning candidate’ you will need to have substance, integrity, and a real connect with the people. This will not be a Hillary situation whereas her supporters ran right over to the won’s side. You will need to earn the vote.

It seems to me that some people really like it when Christie speaks his mind to unions, but when he gives an honest opinion about Palin they just go nuts. He is not smacking her around here, he is just stating an opinion. Palin’s supporters do her no favors with this thin skinned response.Palin is very much in the public with her TV show and her facebook, etc..the idea that people are picking on her by talking about her is ridiculous. Obviously, she wants to be talked about. She is not exactly in retirement. And that is fine, but people need to stop being so defensive about her.

Of course the response is that anyone who does not say just the right things about Palin is a RINO..that word has been used so much that it has just about lost meaning. It really has.

I’m not exactly a “Palinbot” but the potential male candidates on the right don’t seem to have her testicular fortitude. Maybe that will change, I guess we will see.

Bishop on February 28, 2011 at 11:04 PM

THAT I agree with. But Palin hardly wins awards with her generalizations — I do think she is being hyped way past reality.

I’ll vote for her if she’s nominated. But I do think that Palin is being carried along by some sort of fervor that is out of touch with reality, though perhaps it’s necessary recoil from the loathesome situation we are now faced with from Obama. By comparison, Palin’s a breath of fresh air, even though overhyped. In the current conditions, overhyping Palin is far less offensive than tolerating Obama.

I’ve just never been one to fall into lockstep with trends and Cults of Personality. I see what transpired from the Left with Obama from that Cult of Personality movement, so I think I’ve grown to loathe any and all movements similar, Left OR Right.

It seems to me that some people really like it when Christie speaks his mind to unions, but when he gives an honest opinion about Palin they just go nuts. He is not smacking her around here, he is just stating an opinion.

His honest opinion was not justified as is obvious to anyone paying attention.

The claim that Palin is not being picked on is not just untrue, but ridiculous. We are defensive about her because she is being attacked daily, not just by the guilt ridden pro abortion fanatics who control the MSM but also by the squishes in her own party who are afraid to engage liberals in the cultural war that must be fought if Americans are to to accept personal responsibility for their lives and eschew the path of moral oblivion that the country has been on for the last 50 years. Liberals have no intention of abandoning this war which is why they attack Palin with abandon. She is a threat to everything they hold dear.

Of course the response is that anyone who does not say just the right things about Palin is a RINO..that word has been used so much that it has just about lost meaning. It really has.

RINO perfectly describes pro abortionists like you, Terrye.

Now I look at that differently. Why, just because this guy talks tough to unions, should I think that he has what it takes not only to be president but to instruct others on what makes them the desired candidate? I hear he’s bad on guns, and immigration and there are other stances I am uninformed of, so at this point he has one claim to fame. I like him, his suggestions might be sound but it is no more valid than anyone else.

Amadeus on March 1, 2011 at 8:05 AM

My question is overhyped by who? The media spends countless hours and dollars trying to destroy her 24/7. The left goes into a blind rage at the mention of her name and the GOP is actively trying to paint her as someone she isn’t.

A good example of overhyped is Obama. Everyone, including some Republicans swooned at the mention of his name and the media posts pictures of the guy with halos.

unseen on March 1, 2011 at 8:37 AM

The reality is that she consistently takes the lead on most issues. And no one is as capable of reducing Obama to the community organizing (shakedown artist) incompetent that he is. She won’t bow and scrape before him like the others will. She will give him the respect he deserves as the worst president in American history. Palin is the unchallenged champion of conservative values and will remain so unless she is bested in the GOP leadership debates.

Say what you want about Chris Christie, but his opinions deserve respect because he has won an election in a very Democratic state which Barack Obama carried heavily in 2008, and he is still popular in that state, and not because he is pretending to be a liberal.

Last time I looked, Sarah Palin has won exactly one election, in a heavily Republican state. She plays to her very conservative base and has done nothing to bring independent voters to her side.

And, has anyone heard Palin give an opinion about public employee unions? Other than her Facebook post to the union people in Wisconsin? Does she believe that reining in PEUs is essential to restore fiscal balance in our states, or not? What is her plan for reducing federal and state debt? This is shaping up to be THE issue of 2011, and possibly of 2012 as well. And if it is, we have Chris Christie to thank for it.

This is shaping up to be THE issue of 2011, and possibly of 2012 as well. And if it is, we have Chris Christie to thank for it.

SP will never be able to overcome the grossly unfair destruction that she is subjected to on a daily basis. The liberal media will not permit it.

As Mr. Breitbart will tell you we don’t need the mainstream media anymore. My favorite Andrew quote aimed at the media sitting at the back of the Nashville Tea Party Convention:

“It’s not your business model that sucks, it’s you that sucks.”

Eloquent and precise, lol. The media loses a little more of what’s left of their credibility every time they mindlessly and smugly attack Palin.

She already has overcome their attacks. She is still here and this thread is getting longer and longer.

What is her plan for reducing federal and state debt? This is shaping up to be THE issue of 2011, and possibly of 2012 as well. And if it is, we have Chris Christie to thank for it. rockmom on March 1, 2011 at 8:53 AM

i don’t know maybe the same plan she used to cut the AK budget by about 13% during times of plenty. Cutting spending and increasing savings? Raising rev by increasing economic output by cutting regulations. changing entitlement programs from a defined beneift programs to more an individual contribution program…tranfering power back to the states and getting rid of some of the unfunded mandates COngress has stuck the states with…..more local control less federal government intrusion in the economu, more energy production, cut corp taxes so we can compete with the rest of the world and our companies don’t flee to other parts of the world.

Maybe she will put air force one up on ebay….

got to disagree. I see the main issue of 2012 being LAW and ORDER. The concept that we are a nation of laws not of men. Obama is destorying that concept at a fast pace and it will increasingly bear fruit as we move along. From his contempt of the courts, his failure to obey their orders, his call for getitng in people’s face and his backing of the unions anarchy in the streets. Law and Order will be the biggest issue of the day.

The people will yearn for a return of the days of blind justice where laws are enforced for all not just the unprotected class of the day…..

And at the bottom of it is not the move for a more consititutional government nothing but a desire for law and order?

Get it wrong, and Democrats have checkmate.

rightwingyahooo

You, my friend, think you have found the one chink in Palin’s conservative armor. Then you insist that immigration is the biggest issue so that you can “exploit” that chink. You are simply anti-Palin. Just admit it and we can all just move along. Putting up the immigration straw man is simply allowing yourself to be in denial.

You can’t have law and order if society is crippled by astronomical fuel prices. The price of everything is based on the cost of production. If fuel goes up … everything goes up.

darwin on March 1, 2011 at 9:46 AM

But Palin hardly wins awards with her generalizations — I do think she is being hyped way past reality.

Lourdes on March 1, 2011 at 7:51 AM

I suppose you didn’t watch the clip. I didn’t hear many “generalizations”.

darwin on March 1, 2011 at 8:00 AM

I took the time to watch the entire clip. It isn’t as if Palin is God’s perfect creature, infallible. That remaining true, she’s doing well and I certainly congratulate her political matriculation.

On the economy, Palin didn’t once stipulate anything specific per solution. She did not attack Keynesian policies. She did not provide the proven solution of the Austrian School for a solid means to strengthening the Dollar. She only spoke of “common sense”, the same words that Obama’s using to counter what would be intuitive reason. That’s a poor showing for her economic strategy, promising that all we need to do is cut back a bit until things improve, failing to address the entire Keynesian foundation that ruined America.

Another point was when speaking of the Muslim Brotherhood, Palin said:

“We don’t really know who is in charge of the Muslim Brotherhood.”

Actually, the men have names. If Palin is admitting that she and those in the room are as yet unaware of the leadership and sponsors of the Muslim Brotherhood, that’s fine because there is yet opportunity now to investigate available records and become fluent in discoursing the Muslim Brotherhood beyond being portrayed as the hidden masked boogieman. But since this comment referenced Obama’s conferencing with them, it would have made her case solid had she stated names of those people whom Obama’s administration contacts and those who attend. It isn’t as if the Muslim Brotherhood is a secret organization filled with hidden identities. It has leadership and sponsors. That Obama’s administration functions as the Muslim Brotherhood’s sponsor is nothing for Obama’s opponent to ignore.

On Palin’s Potus chances, Newt using Palin as his “what if she were POTUS” example arguing in contrast against Obama signals that her chances of “winning” are at least as valid as his own (if not more). It was also a sign of Newt hiding behind Palin’s apron strings, keeping his distance from battle, leaving her to take oppositional blows on his behalf. That said, in literal debate, no way could Palin face down Obama as Newt could. Her same problem exists in debate against Newt who can out perform in that political arena. Newt Gingrich would certainly make a potent Secretary of State. Newt can verbally maneuver like no one else, better than any American politician alive. And that just goes to show how much Americans demanding the end to government corruption should NOT place their faith in political debates between opponents, as if the winner of a verbal impromptu argument is necessarily the best potential POTUS. The best debater could be the worst and most corrupt candidate.

Tammy Bruce’s personal attack on Gov. Christie only opens the gates for more personal attacks on everyone, including Palin.

Ace critiqued Palin’s non-commitment to run. I wrote yesterday that when Laura Ingraham bemoaned all of the Republican potential potus candidate reticence to take on the battle, refusing to declare now their bid for the presidency and initiating their ’12 campaign, instead of moaning, we should count it a blessing not to be faced with contentions for office from the corrupt “winnable” known names. Since Obama and the Democratic-Marxist Party is being spun as if the Army of the Philistines with Goliath challenging the cowardly King Saul and all of the King’s Men and Army for contest in combat, then I’ll support the candidate with the greatest Faith in our Constitutional Republic willing to defend the honor of Divine Providence.

We who want a political cleansing in order to bring about a Constitutional Renaissance should be glad that the same-old, same-old elitists-for-authoritarian-globalism agenda are waiting cowardly behind the curtains for ’16, fully anticipating a second Obama term to expire before “competing”.

I’d support a newcomer now, someone not corrupted by “political experience” as all of those with the politically designed “pre-requisites” are corrupted, Newt and Mitt for instance. I’d gladly vote for the Congressman Col. Allen West; neither Andrew Jackson nor Ike held public office prior to being POTUS. I’d gladly vote for Sen. Rand Paul, knowing exactly that his agenda platform is strict constitutional conservancy, economic stability and hence American international power.

If the Tea Party movement insists upon conforming to the powers that be, for shame ignoring why “term limits” matter.

Build the platform first, and the candidates must abide upon that platform in office.

I appreciate Palin’s American Energy plan. That alone would earn a vote. But what of the way that the US Government manipulates our own economy via banking systems? Palin has neglected to stipulate her premise. If Palin stands on the Austrian School of Economics for America’s recovery, then where’s her argument against Keynesian corruption and solution to reach solvency, economic integrity and the Dollar’s strength?

Counterfactuals are difficult to resolve. However, it seems improbable that COD could ever run well in NJ. Bret Schundler was a recent and vastly more qualified GOP candidate who was seen as too conservative by NJ voters in two bids for Governor.

Either way though the Corzine issue doesn’t matter any more when evaluating Christie than Carter’s incompetence and unpopularity reflect on Reagan’s presidency.

I agree that law enforcement should break the Obama administration wide open.

That Obama refuses to uphold his own stipulated duty in office as Chief Executive is grounds for his impeachment.

The very GOP that’s too cowardly to begin and prosecute impeachment proceedings against the most corrupt POTUS in history does not have my vote for their insider candidate.

They’re playing games, literally, in the Justice Department
Hans von Spakovsky 02/28/11

An open letter to Rep. Frank Wolf, chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce-Justice-Science:

Reports from lawyers inside DOJ tell of Voting Section attorneys so bored that many spend the day playing computer Solitaire, watching videos, and venting at the lack of activity. Attorneys beg for work and are told there is none. If Holder denies this, you should require that the DOJ Inspector General provide the evidence that I am told they have already collected on this point. Similar problems plague the division’s Employment and Special Litigation Sections.

darwin on March 1, 2011 at 9:46 AM

You can’t have society of any kind without law and order. If fuel goes up then law and order will break down as people riot in the streets in the inner cities or the lef t uses it to stage protest after protest…which will make law and order a bigger and bigger issue…The foundation of any society is it’s law and order. Law and orde ris always a big issue after a liberal admin is in the white house. Bush ran on restoring the “morals” to the WH. Reagan ran as a law and order candidate.

Law and order is always a prime concern for voters after a liberal admin gets done. Obama as we speak is fraying the underpinnings of this countries laws and order from offshore drilling, obamacare, immigration, etc with his fundemental change. He seeks to rewrite the rules and replace the known law and order with a system of men.

I understand energy will be very important but prices can go up and down. Obama has the SRI to releas eif prices get out of control befor ethe election etc…..He can control the price at the pump to control the damge short temr at least enough to make it a non issue in the election.

the Law and Order question he has nothing because it and it alone is a summation of his goverance while in office.

If you look up congressional term limits it appears that many state supreme courts have declared them unconstitutional but that SCOTUS hasn’t taken it on. The fact remains that every time there is an election there is the chance of term limits. I think I would rather have an informed electorate that is willing to boot them out. I understand that less time means less chance of corruption and the flow of new ideas and the endless campaigns, I wonder why it hasn’t been heard?

know if posts like this were written about Daniels sunday appearance then i might agree with you. It seems Gov Palin is being held to a higher standard then anyone else. Anyone else talking about Astrian economics in their interviews? No and there is a reason for that. Palin has come out repeatly for a strong dollar policy and an end to QE by the fed. the reason candidates don’t go into the policy wonk weeds is because voters tend to lose interest when facts and fiugures and big names are being discussed. Regan tried that in 1976 to deflect form the media’s narrative that he was an idiot.
voters tuned him out. He come back in 1980 and ran a campaign on broad themes and soundbites he won in a landslide.

Her reference to the muslim brotherhood was more a shot at not knowing who was “behind” them as in what they really believe. it had nothing to do with not knowing the “leaders” names. It has to do with placing a suspicion on their true aims in the area….

From a discussion with ACe last night it is clear he knows nothing about Palin and does not wish to learn anything. Citing Ace as a source to anything Palin is beyond insane. He doesn’t even know the basictime line of events since her resignation from office. His ideas on Palin are based on incomplete facts and biased news sources. he in short cherry picks dats that agrees with his theory and willfully ignores the data that doesn’t confirm to his theory on Palin. I would not cite Ace to make your case against Palin. that would be like asking the Souix about their thoughts on custer…
