3 new undercover PP clinic videos

posted at 11:51 am on February 4, 2011 by Ed Morrissey

Today, Live Action presents three more of their undercover sting videos at Planned Parenthood clinics, all of them in Virginia. Once again, the undercover reporter poses as a pimp employing underage girls as young as 14 and 15, which should trigger automatic reporting of sexual exploitation of minors. Instead of challenging the putative pimp, in each case the clinic advises him how to avoid detection in one sense or another. In this round, Live Action has posted the entire videos, as well as the release of this statement:

Following yesterday’s shocking revelation of video from a Richmond, Va. Planned Parenthood investigation, Live Action (www.liveaction.org) today released undercover footage from three more Virginia Planned Parenthood clinics – in Falls Church, Charlottesville and Roanoke – which clearly show staff willing to aid and abet the sexual trafficking and exploitation of minors and young women. Following the release of video earlier this week from clinics in New Jersey and Richmond, Va., this latest footage provides more evidence of a clear, disturbing pattern of gross misconduct by Planned Parenthood.

“It is utterly disgusting that Planned Parenthood’s response to this is that their employee reacted ‘professionally,’” said Live Action President Lila Rose. “The only acceptable response to encountering a self-identified sex-trafficker of underage girls is zero tolerance. The only ‘professional’ response is to immediately call law enforcement to the scene and push for an arrest. Our investigation – and their response – continues to show that an institutional crisis has engulfed the highest levels of Planned Parenthood. If you’re a sex-trafficker of minors or young women, you have a partner in Planned Parenthood. But if you are a minor or a young woman, you are not safe at Planned Parenthood clinics,” Rose continued.

The footage shows a man who identifies himself as a pimp working with underage girls. He seeks assistance for getting abortions, STD testing and birth control for girls he “manages” as sex workers, who are from out of the country and as young as 14 to 15 years old. The investigation continues to unearth alarming evidence that Planned Parenthood, which receives more than $350 million from the American taxpayer every year, is willing to facilitate the sexual exploitation of minors and young women.

“Today, we are sending Attorney General Cuccinelli and Virginia law enforcement officials new, disturbing footage from three Virginia clinics. The footage explicitly shows Planned Parenthood staff willing to engage in activity that sexually exploits minors and young women. The evidence continues to mount, and shows a clear pattern where Planned Parenthood is willing aid and abet the sex-trafficking industry. These are abhorrent practices and it is time Planned Parenthood be held accountable,” Rose said.

Findings in these Virginia videos:

• Falls Church – Abortions for underage girls from other countries only require a photo ID.

Planned Parenthood staffer: “We don’t necessarily look at the legal status, like I said. Abortion appointments do require photo ID. It’s nothing as far as records. It’s just photo ID that’s ever going to be required.”

• Roanoke – Birth control and STD testing for underage prostitutes is no problem

Planned Parenthood staffer: “From the age of 12 up, for birth control, you can just come in and do that. You don’t have to have a parent, OK?”

Planned Parenthood staffer discussing STD testing: “And the thing is, see this is the thing a lot of people don’t know that. . .Right, through the Health Department. And so, they’ll uh, they’ll track it. And they’re discreet. They’re confidential. They, you know, don’t tell people what’s going on, because – frankly – it’s nobody’s business.”

• Charlottesville – Birth control and testing for STDs and pregnancy for underage girls with no questions asked.

Planned Parenthood staffer: “Anybody here can help you. Everything here is confidential. We can’t give any information out.”

These videos are complete, unedited footage of the three visits:

Roanoke:

Richmond:

Falls Church:

In these video, as in the earlier Virginia video, the nurse does not get as enthusiastic as in the New Jersey case in helping the pimp hide his business, nor is there any referral to unregulated clinics for abortions involving 14-year-old prostitutes to keep them from being rescued. However, they don’t seem too offended by the notion, either.

Again, I want to note that the national office did write a letter to the Department of Justice to inform them of the repeated visits by someone posing as a pimp and prostitute, in what they assumed by that point was a hoax. But each clinic had a duty to report the incidents individually to local law enforcement as well. Did they?

So ACORN’s federal funding is yanked, but somehow this does not garner any immediate attention from Congress to do the same?

Their (mostly) casual responses suggest something sadly worse. It would suggest that seeing a pimp come in and ask those questions is not a novel, one-time event for them.

Why on earth should they be? I mean, think about it: this is the abortion industry’s main source of business.

There is so much lately to be outraged about but funding for PP has got to stop.

ORconservative on February 4, 2011 at 12:12 PM

Remember, the ultimate horror in all of this isn’t merely that Planned Parenthood abortuaries are eager to kill the sons and daughters of underage sex slaves, but that they are eager to kill sons and daughters of any mothers at all.

KyMouse on February 4, 2011 at 12:12 PM

I hope Americans are not becoming so immune to evil that they can’t see how awful Planned Parenthood is. Why blacks support the Democrat party when it is the major benefactor of PP, an organization whose main goal is to kill the unwanted children especially if they are black or some other minority they don’t want.

C’mon Boehner yank the funding!

There’s a reason a girl 12 or older can go into Planned Parenthood and get an exam and contraception. Is it Rose’s ambition to completely shut this avenue down? I hate to tell her that 15-16 year olds show up all the time at hospitals to deliver and nothing is done because daddy usually isn’t much older or even if he is 18 nobody really reports it as rape, which it is.

Outlander on February 4, 2011 at 12:25 PM

These Live Action people are heroes. True heroes.

And clever ones, too.

Pro-abortion supporters can only argue in hypotheticals and theoreticals. Their ideology is the basis for their belief, and their only defense is that the good they support (right to abort) is more important than the good they destroy (the life of innocent unborn children).

Privacy is a legitimate argument. Most people loathe government intrusion. Thus, they find supporters.

But what abortion can NEVER survive is truth. The REALITY, as opposed to theory, of abortion is ugly and bitter and evil. When you shine a light on what REALLY happens to the unborn, and when you shine a light on who REALLY suffers …

It cannot survive. The truth is there, and if its seen, it will win. Truth always does. That’s all we need. No protests. No arguments. Hell, no legislation. All we really need is for the American public to SEE what actually goes on. To actually SEE that Gosnell is not the exception, he is the rule. To SEE that THIS is what Planned Parenthood is and does. It is systemic and it is intentional and it IS what abortion really is.

These people are shining light in the darkest of places. Evil hates light.

Heroes. All of them.

I, too, am flabbergasted that the “pimp and prostitute walk in and ask for help with their international child sex trafficking ring” bit worked a SECOND TIME.

That said, there’s a big difference between the first video in NJ and the rest of the videos. The person in the first video appeared to help the pimp procure an illegal abortion. In the remaining videos, the clinic workers simply provide advice on how to legally procure an underaged abortion or birth control pills. The shock value is limited to the fact that they’re non-chalantly giving this advice to a guy who said he was a pimp to 14-year-old immigrant girls.

From Wikipedia, on VA’s statutes:

If any person carnally knows, without the use of force, a child thirteen years of age or older but under fifteen years of age, such person shall be guilty of … felony … For the purposes of this section, (i) a child under the age of thirteen years shall not be considered a consenting child

To me, “any person” would include those under age 18. But I’m no legal scholar. It just doesn’t seem legal for PP to distribute contraceptives to 12-year-olds without reporting it to the authorities. Someone is taking advantage of that child and some adult needs to step forward and let the child know that it’s not ok.

NavyMom on February 4, 2011 at 1:22 PM

It’s kinda sad that the state worries more about underage drinking than it does about minors involved in sex trafficking.

I’ve always thought it meant “nobody over 18 can bang anyone under 18″, but perhaps that’s a bit too simplistic. I honestly don’t know all the ins and outs of the law except for that part, which every young man really ought to know these days.

But I do agree that PP should not be handing out taxpayer-funded contraceptives. Horny kids can go buy their own at the local drugstore with their own money.

It’s not necessarily a clear-cut decision whether to immediately contact the police or to try to play it out and contact police later (which Live Action has no way of knowing at this point that they didn’t).

Contact police immediately — you may be putting girls’ lives at risk. You might be putting your own life at risk. You have to consider what an actual pimp is going to do, assuming the cops even show up, when he’s released for lack of evidence and decides to cut his losses.

If you play along and wait for him to leave, there might be a better chance that you can locate the girls when they go for treatment. Or maybe you never see them again. A lot of well-meaning people could get that decision wrong.

PP notified the FBI of repeated suspicious visits to their offices. They probably also notified their other offices. I wonder how the FBI or local law enforcement will react now when PP alerts them to a actual underage sex-trafficking ring. Maybe not so on-the-ball. Thanks for the public service, Lilah.

RightOFLeft on February 4, 2011 at 3:27 PM

RightOFLeft on February 4, 2011 at 2:10 PM

Obviously you know nothing of mandatory reporting as regards to minors.

If you have information of a creditable threat to a minor, or minors, you are obligated to report it. Period. It is not your job to decide anything else. If someone came into a classroom or a pediatricians office and asked for information like this for an underage sex trafficking business, the teacher or doctor would be bound by law to report. It would be law enforcement’s job to go from there.

Abortion clinics are immune from these types of laws because they have worked hard to be so. They fight parent notification laws and mandatory reporting laws tooth and nail. In areas where there are laws, they routinely ignore them.

From their point of view, a child has a right to privacy and to do whatever they want. So if they want to be an underage sex slave, well, who are we to judge? If a 12 year-old is having a relationship with a 40 year-old relative and ends up preggers, well she certainly shouldn’t be punished with a baby now, should she? And we can’t be turning pimps and uncles in right and left because then the girls won’t trust us to keep their secrets. And where would they get their medical care then?

Lily on February 4, 2011 at 3:32 PM

The only ‘professional’ response is to immediately call law enforcement

malclave on February 4, 2011 at 3:40 PM

RightOFLeft on February 4, 2011 at 3:27 PM

Law enforcement takes reports like this seriously – these aren’t local cops reacting to a homeowner’s alarm system going off by accident. Besides, PP did not file a false report – they reported a real situation, which turned out to be something other than suspected. It’s a little like reporting a suspicious package – might or might not be dangerous, but law enforcement takes it seriously each time. Even if it turns out to be nothing, the person doing the reporting simply reported the facts. He has not filed a false report.

NavyMom on February 4, 2011 at 3:47 PM

Horrific. Why isn’t Capitol Hill calling for a thorough investigation of the abortion industry and PP itself?

OmahaConservative on February 4, 2011 at 3:48 PM

Here in Roanoke, reports are that PP did report them this to law enforcement, and the PP staff attempted to ID the vehicle driven by the “pimp”.

This would seem to indicate that our Planned Parenthood is performing responsibly.

hawksruleva on February 4, 2011 at 3:52 PM

The only ‘professional’ response is to immediately call law enforcement

You mean, if you’re a nurse in a room with a possible criminal, you need to pull out your cell phone and call 911? That seems impractical, and would probably result in the suspect fleeing, or perhaps turning violent. That seems like an unnecessary risk to ask healthcare providers to take.

No. But I would be surprised if PP staff didn’t have a code word they use to alert other staff members to contact the police. Or she could have made an excuse for having another staff member talk to the “pimp” while she left the room to call police (on the non-emergency number, not 911).

I don’t get it. Didn’t these people see any of the ACORN video’s? Are they just that dumb/dense that they would actually believe the same type of routine of a pimp and prostitute? I see stupid people everywhere.

But those were “FAKED” videos remember? No need to watch them. “Those aren’t the droids you are looking for.”

I watched one vid where it was apparent that the “pimp” was black. Obviously, PP doesn’t think that blacks can have morals and try to expose their evil. Only that being black automatically means that you probably really are a pimp and a liberal criminal. PP is quite prepared to believe the “pimp”. They are, as proved in these videos, quite wrong. These animals at PP truly disgust me.

It’s not necessarily a clear-cut decision whether to immediately contact the police or to try to play it out and contact police later (which Live Action has no way of knowing at this point that they didn’t).

They don’t want police traipsing all over their clinics, scaring away the income. That is why they don’t call.
