If you have a dictionary, look up the word:BIGOT. It says those intolerant of others. It defines liberalism to the max. The sheriff speculating on the psychological make-up of the shooter is total incompetence on his part. The shooter was making death threats in 2007, before the Tea Party and Palin were ever thought of. He is just another liberal making excuses and attacking those he disagrees with. The attacks on the right are orchestrated as they are all saying the very same thing in unison like the brainwashed lemmings they are. Those that knew him say he was a leftwing nutjob, those that didn’t know him attack the right reinforcing liberalism is a mental disorder. The shooter burned the flag, hated Bush, read the Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf and was incensed that Giffords voted against Pelosi. EVERY piece of evidence supports that those who knew him as a leftwing nutjob were right. All others are babbling talking points like lemmings obeying their masters.

In the “new normal”, is the term “hung jury” inflammatory rhetoric? I mean,somebody could actually attempt to hang jury members. Then use of the term “hung jury” could be considered hate speech which incited a crime.

To the good people of Tucson: You may be liberals, but do you feel safe with deputy hound dog in charge of your safety? If he let this guy off the hook after he made all those threatening phone calls, how many others are out there like him in your neighborhoods.
Someone should tell this guy the corner coffee shop is the proper venue for expressing opinions.

Is the sheriff’s department handling the investigation, and, if so, why? The crime was committed in the city of Tuscon which has its own police department. In my experience sheriff’s departments have jurisdiction and investigative responsibility in unincorporated areas of the county and city police departments have the responsibility within city boundaries. It may be that this sheriff, feeling excluded from the investigation by jurisdictional restrictions, has the need to insert himself into it. As a former deputy chief of police in a major city, I’ve frequently dealt with a sheriff who’s had nothing to do with an investigation but who has spouted off in the media about it.

Speaking as a person extremely well acquainted with old age, I have long wondered about the reluctance of people in their 70′s, such as this Dupnik, to retire. Usually it’s 2 reasons: They need the pay check or they can’t imagine not working because what would they do with themselves. I bet this guy falls into the second category. I always feel sad for the folks in the latter category because so many great experiences and fun await after retirement and they just can’t see it. It’s one of life’s best times.

I think this guy absolutely saw that the failure to take the reports seriously and giving this young man a pass several times would be discussed as soon as revealed.

He’s been in office for around 40 years. As was said before, at 74, he doesn’t have (or know) anything else. And with that much time in office, he obviously thinks he can say anything he damn well pleases and he’ll still get re-elected.
