Video: Dem Rep wants borders to become an “irrelevancy”
posted at 10:15 am on December 22, 2010 by Ed Morrissey
Look on the bright side. At least we have a Democrat talking about God in American policy. Of course, it’s Rep. Keith Ellison, who here prays for borders to become “irrelevant.” In this clip from The Blaze from a June 2010 speech to the Network of Spiritual Progressives Conference, Ellison posits that military strength doesn’t make for safe borders, but that policies of “equity, generosity, and engagement” provide security:
Speaking as a person of faith, I recognize the “no borders” concept as part of the utopian vision of a resurrected world, one with God in the Millenium to come. Until then, though, calling military strength irrelevant to border security in this world is nothing short of breathtakingly stupid. The US has a long record of “equity, generosity, and engagement” in its foreign policy, all of which would mean squat to anyone wanting to attack us. Because of our strength, we have faced off against monstrous opponents, such as Nazi Germany, imperial Japan, and the Soviet Union, all of whom conducted genocidal policies on peoples and countries who just wanted “engagement” instead of conquerors, and even on their own people (as did China) by the millions. Had we not had that military strength for both ourselves and our allies, this world would be a much more evil and desolate place.
Good intentions matter in foreign policy. So does military strength. Ask the people of eastern Europe which matters more.

A terrific place to start is with the borders of his own congressional district.
Let’s make them irrelevant by erasing them, with the result being he no longer has a congressional district (i.e., gerrymander the S.O.B. out of office).

People like this are incredibly frightening.
I was in a dollar pizza place in Manhattan on Monday night, visiting with a friend. These guys walked in. Some band, and we got going, talking about music (they were 31 or so). The singer started talking about how he loooved “System of a Down’s” song about borders and how they are means of division. Then he talked about how he didn’t care about 9/11, and all that wonderful stuff. Needless to say, I didn’t stay long.
Losers. Utopian, naive losers.

Arabian wind, the needle’s eye is thin,
the ships of state sail on mirage,
And drown in sand,
out in no-man’s land where
allah does command.
What good is spilling blood?
it will not grow a thing;
Taste eternity the swords sing:
blues of allah in
’sh’allah (God willing).
They lie where they fall,
there’s nothing more to say,
The desert stars are bright tonight lets meet as
friends,
The flower of islam, the fruit of abraham.
The thousand stories have come round to one
again,
Arabian night,
our gods pursue their fight,
What fatal flowers of darkness bloom from seeds
of light.
Bird of paradise fly in white sky,
blues for allah in ’sh’allah,
Let’s see with our heart,
these things our eyes have seen,
And know the truth must still lie somewhere in
between.
Under eternity, under eternity, under eternity
blue,
Bird of paradise fly in white sky,
blues for allah in ’sh’allah.

Mr. Ellison, when asked if he would be willing to let a poor Mexican family of 12 live in his basement, demurred saying, “When I said we need to help the poor and unfortunate I didn’t mean that I had to participate.”

If you want to know what sort of people would elect a moron such as Ellison, I invite you out to Minnesota; we can hop on a couple of my bikes and take a tour of his district. It is an eye-opening experience.
Bishop on December 22, 2010 at 10:45 AM
the Frogs would still say “good intentions” because, they do not learn lessons well, they need Americans to pay the price for them to maintain their deluded visions of “good intentions.” The inter-war period in the 20′s-30′s saw a remarkable increase in the pacifistic vision by leaders and, more specifically, teachers in France…..and we all saw how that turned out. This waste of space Keith Ellyson is a mere modern day version of the pacifists and socialists of yesteryear. SSDD.

That’s not new. Democrats have been talking about God and America for quite some time — with the word “damn” inserted in between.
With all due respect, even the most devout Christian’s faith pales in comparison to that of liberals. They are the ultimate fanatics. Because they don’t just believe in God; they believe they ARE God — and that they can magically change the whole world just by caring about it.

This crap makes perfect sense coming from a mu$lim. It’s part of their mission to subjugate the entire world under i$lamic domination, and it starts with eliminating borders. a POS like Ellison has no business serving in our government. He swore an oath of allegiance to uphold THE CONSTITUTION, but his pro-mu$lim comments show that his priorities lie elsewhere.

Brand new “Wellstone!” yard signs, peace symbols displayed in every window, “Dubya is a war criminal” bumper stickers, hairy women, Prius’s and scooters everywhere you look, concerned citizens who will actually approach and berate you for your loud motorcycle, no American flags anywhere but plenty of other nation’s flags fluttering, people walking the streets who like they just left Woodstock, etc.
Bishop on December 22, 2010 at 11:06 AM
Actually, I happen to be one of those people, the people of eastern Europe. I lived half my life in Hungary, and I can remember very well when there was barbed wire and landmines on the Austrian border, and you knew you would get shot in the border zone just like you knew you would get electrocuted if you stuck your finger into the wall socket. Now that border is an irrelevancy. You can walk across it without even noticing. You can get into a car in Estonia and drive all the way to Portugal without stopping at a border. It all changed without a single shot being fired. This is one of the few miracles I’ve seen in my life.
So yeah, you can joke about which god Rep. Ellison is praying to all you want, and you can certainly make legitimate points about the importance of military might, but you can’t argue about one thing: borders becoming irrelevant is definitely a good thing.

Did all of Europe combine into a single entity without notifying anyone, is is now The United States of Europe? There are still borders, just not an emphasis on heavily securing them.

It’s not the one’s who legally come here and want to assimilate as a United States citizen that we have to worry about. It’s the parasites who only want to take and not give back and those who mean this country and this culture harm we need strong border security for.
Why isn’t he railing against the Muslim countries about their “open” borders. Try going to Saudi Arabia on a tourist passport and see how far you get – not that anyone would want to settle there.

You are going to have to perform a native sweet pork ceremony to cleanse Jeffersons Qur’an of Emmerson. Jefferson got that Qur’an in order to study what drove the efforts of his Muslim enemy, the Barbary Pirates. It would be nice if todays political leaders had an inclination to understand the situation. But then, you’re not at war with Islam, so there is no need to investigate it.
BL@KBIRD on December 22, 2010 at 11:26 AM
Ah, but unlike the border between Mexico and the U.S., or the border between Russia and Estonia.
Pie in the sky. Like I said, if a mass migration took place into Europe from the east, borders would become relevant quite quickly.

1. No one’s joking about it. Ellison is a Muslim, out and proud – our first in Congress.
2. Just because no one’s trying to break into Eastern Europe doesn’t mean borders are a bad thing. Your anecdote proves nothing.

This would never work among nations that don’t share a minimally similar cultural heritage, e.g., the US and every nation south of it.
