Caution! Palinists hate being called Palinistas. They’re very sensitive about this sort of thing and even complained when Allah used that adorable sexist, demeaning picture of Sarah winking. There’s also a self-appointed blog monitor/minister of truth who will report you to the higher authorities at Hot Air if she deems your comments offensive (unless your name is Jenfidel or gary4205. They have been awarded special exemptions).

Sure, Sara has a long road ahead of her to either win the nomination or win the general election. Neither is a done deal. It is not even certain she will run.

What I don’t understand is the anger and vitriol some conservatives have toward Sara and anyone who claims to prefer her to other potential candidates. I think it is counter-productive. If the reason is an attempt to get people not to vote for Sara in the primary b/c you don’t think she can win the general, such behaviour is counter-productive. Beating up on Palinistas is just going to make them dig in deeper.

Cool. The funny thing is we’ve thought about converting to Catholicism since the Episcopal Church has gone off the rails. Tigerlily would be on a vain quest searching for anti-Catholic comments from me.

I find it amusing that for all her pious sermonizing she went totally bonkers and lost it in a nasty fit of incomprehensible rage.

I’m also Catholic-granted I was Protestant and before than, Jewish-but I don’t find you to be even remotely anti-Catholic.
I DO find you to be a good conservative though.

Because there have been entire threads overflowing with anti-Catholic hate, and I don’t recall you going on a crusade to stop it, or to suggest that the anti-Catholic bigots who have ranted on HA with truly vile, disgusting slanders and almost pornographic hate should be banned. If I’m wrong about that, please show me.

The term vendetta is an old Italian one. It doesn’t mean “mission” it means, from Webster’s:

I may be wrong, but I don’t recall where, if anywhere in Scripture, Christ was described by others or described himself as bearing a sword; or actually did bear a sword. Peter bore a sword and cut off the high priest’s servant’s ear, but Christ restored the servant and admonished Peter to put the sword away, telling him that those who live by the sword will also die by it.

I always thought Jesus came to us as a baby in a manger. Something about this time of year makes me think so even more.

Actually, from what I understand, Armageddon, or the series of events foretold in the Book of Revelation which include Armageddon, are very much part of God’s plan for the unfolding and culmination of salvation history before the Second Coming.

Unpleasant, to understate it, as Armageddon is, it will be a result of man’s own free decisions to bring about his own wars and tragedies as a result of wiping God from human the course of human events.

As the Crucifixion of our Lord, actual Deicide, was ordained by God from all eternity to accomplish His plan for our salvation, so too is Armaggedon part of the plan of God, allowing events to mysteriously be controlled through our own free will, and at the same time He excercising His power to bring a greater good out of our actions.

So in this sense, Jesus will not be “on a vendetta” to end Armaggedon. All of the Scripture must be fulfilled before Gabriel blows his horn.

This sanctimonious double-standard includes all manner of attacks dismissed or ignored when the offending parties are supporters in that certain camp, but everyone else is ridiculed for having the temerity to protect themselves.
After numerous assaults and provocations, defending oneself becomes necessary.

Twisting the facts to suit the members of that certain camp’s purposes and shifting the blame onto non-supporters is both dishonest and reprehensible.

At the risk of being reported ;) I’ve seen Aurelio’s ads (get a kick out of their jingle) but haven’t tried them. I ddin’t care for my local Gino’s, but maybe the downtown restaurant is better (I never get downtown).

As you know, I never told you to act like Aslan, I think that is something you have convinced yourself that you should do, as is evidenced by your name and some of the things you have said to me here. As for not basing your actions on Aslan and his narnia adventures, yes, that was me. Lift up your eyes, your Savior’s name is Jesus Christ, not Aslan. Act like Jesus, not a fictional allegorical character.
