Michelle Obama on a second term: It’s important for Barack to finish what he started

posted at 9:42 pm on November 24, 2010 by Allahpundit

As Dennis Miller once said in comparing German reunification to a Martin and Lewis reunion, I’m not a fan of his previous work and thus I’m really not looking forward to seeing the new sh*t. In fact, what is the new sh*t that he has planned for a second Obama term? Cap and trade is dead for good, I think; they were struggling to find the votes for that even when Democrats were flying high, but after this month’s shellacking, it’ll be years before they get another centrist to come aboard. Amnesty is always possible, but The One really wants to get that done before 2012 so that he can be personally rewarded for it by Latinos at the polls. After the election, his incentive to push it through will disappear. Expanding ObamaCare to include a public option would have been a no-brainer if Democrats were still in good shape congressionally, but he’s probably facing a Republican majority in both chambers come 2013. In which case, what’s the big legislative program that he needs to “finish”? Are there some more car companies he’s hoping to bail out? Do we need to blow a few hundred billion dollars more on another wasteful stimulus now that the first one’s petering out? Is Michelle waiting for term two to become the new Jackie Kennedy that parasitic D.C. socialites dreamed she’d be when he was first elected? What’s the plan?

Two exit questions for you. One: Does FLOTUS’s sighing consternation here about having to endure another four years of family sacrifice in the White House lend any credence to that rumor about what she said to Sarkozy’s wife? Two: Does the Perpetual Campaigner really never think about Sarah Palin? C’mon. I’ll bet she’s come up a time or two in his chats with Plouffe and Axelrod. Click the image to watch.

I loathe the President’s policies, and have come to dislike him personally a great deal – I can’t even stand the sound of his voice sometimes. And though she’s not really involved in policy-making, I dislike his wife even more.

Blacksheep on November 25, 2010 at 9:03 AM

“…finish what he started.” Except for Michelle apparently, that’s a very nuanced statement since what he actually ‘started’ is a Democrat fall from grace.

jeanie on November 25, 2010 at 9:09 AM

It’ll take another term to train and indoctrinate that civilian army of his that will see to it that none of us actually think we run the nation, or that freedom means anything more than what he says it does.

That half the nation likes him, even after he exposes hs intentions to take down the America of our forefathers and convert it to some new mix of evil systems, remains clear evidence that he will probably succeed. That the GOP is willing to do the Obama Bow before him, (as in – oops I’m sorry -I didn’t mean to call him a liar) merely assures true patriots that we are in bigger trouble than before 1776 (The King at least only played nasty king – while this one plays God. The king didn’t seek to kill millions of innocent babies or create death panels)

2012′s winning campaign slogan can be: “Vote Obama out. So Michelle can go back to being ashamed of America again!”

Michelle Obama on a second term: It’s important for Barack to finish what he started

What’s that? Faking up the country?

NoFanofLibs on November 25, 2010 at 9:29 AM

Has some trouble with the finish, does he Mrs. Obama? Sounds like a personal problem to me.

BrideOfRove on November 25, 2010 at 9:29 AM

Damn typo. That’s farking

NoFanofLibs on November 25, 2010 at 9:29 AM

If we can keep control of the House and gain control of the Senate even if obama wins again in 2012, his hands are pretty much tied. Any executive orders he decides to implement can be negated by law on the Hill if so chosen. Has he let go of his silly plans for the country–no! Will he become a more forceful and respected leader in other countries–probably not. He seems incapable of real change. But a few die hards insist on liking him to their own harm(residual guilt?) so we must work around these however we can. Heads up!! This means accepting RINO points of view from time to time and putting sensible ahead of ideology on occasion.

I’m more concerned that Michelle and Barry’s plan for us is along the lines of “Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual, uninvolved, uninformed.”

Although, he has done that for us, albeit not in the form he intended.

I am cooking a scaled down Thanksgiving dinner. Since it is just the Husband & the youngest Boy Wonder (who is working until six) I don’t go crazy. I ask them what is required to make it feel “normal”. Tomorrow we will get up early and head down to Daytona Speedway for the annual Turkey Rod Run where you can see just about any type, year and model car ever made and wish we had won the lottery so we could buy some of them.

zoyclem on November 25, 2010 at 10:23 AM

So, she’s saying that Barack needs to finish what he started, i. e. the systematic destruction of America as we’ve known her. Wonderful, Mrs. Obama. And we’re supposed to go along with his plan w/o question? BS.

I know snopes never was able to authenticate it but the quote that was supposed to be from a Czech Republic newspaper last year is so right on and disheartening, whether it is legit or not:

Subject: Prince of Fools

Some people have the vocabulary to sum up things in a way you can understand them. This quote was translated into English from an article appearing in the Czech Republic as published in the Prager Zeitung of 28 April 2010.

“The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.”

Regardless who said it, it is the truth and we are screwed. I’ve seen on Facebook, various posts about impeaching Obama. Many say he can’t win election with his numbers. I remember we said the same thing about Bill Clinton in ’96, that with all his screwups and bimbos and Monica, he couldn’t possibly win. We know how well that turned out. This ain’t encouraging. Just sayin’.

I’d hate to see the Nation completely destroyed just so 0bama can say that he finished something, for the first time in his life.

It’s important to finish what we started in 2010–Get rid of zero in 2012.

dragondrop on November 25, 2010 at 11:51 AM

But thank goodness he won’t. I think the Dems and Blacks who voted him in are tired of the bait an switch that he pulled. They are however dumb enough to fall for it all over again.

johnnyU on November 25, 2010 at 11:52 AM

Oh, no, Shy Guy, that would be racist, donchaknow? Can’t criticize him. Like the left never criticized GWB, for gosh sakes. They never hurled obscenities at GWB, no, not at all. They were paragons of good behavior. But we’re just being mean and racist to BHO. Barf.

Roger Brown on November 25, 2010 at 11:53 AM

And the sad part of all this, I can’t remember the numbers exactly but a significant chunk of the population still thinks he’s the best thing to happen to America since sliced bread. How do we answer our friends and family who still think that way? Is there even an answer possible? Banging head against the wall…

Roger Brown on November 25, 2010 at 12:09 PM

Michelle says we need to give Obama a second term to finish what he started.

She means turn the United States into a bankrupt, ex-superpowerful socialist state where every aspect of daily life is dictated by the President or unconfirmed, extra-cabinet White House czars.

As long as we cling to our guns he knows he’s not finished. Only a completely disarmed America is a cowed America with no hope for self-governance. Pray for peace. Prepare for war.

Extrafishy on November 26, 2010 at 9:25 AM

What’s the plan?

It strikes me that you’re so concerned about a “plan,” when the new House leader’s only plan is to make sure Obama doesn’t win reelection and the only idea I hear from any republican is to cut taxes (oh, and reduce the deficit).

While we’re on the deficit, why should we trust any republican on reducing it? the 90s saw a budget surplus, thanks in large part to the democrats paygo rule of legislation. Republicans dropped that when they took over in 2002, cut taxes, expanded medicaid, started two wars (one of which was justified and necessary) and the deficit skyrocketed… not that Republicans cared, because as Reagan showed, deficits don’t matter.

So now that deficits are soaring again thanks in large part to government spending to prevent the economy from collapsing on the republicans watch, what’s the one thing Republicans want to do? Cut taxes for the richest people in the country — even thought they suddenly care about deficits again (at least when it comes time to vote on extending unemployment benefits during the worst economic crisis since the great depression. funny how that concern disappears when talk comes to extending the Bush tax cuts on the rich).

But, i shouldn’t dote on such trivial matters when there’s uppity elites in the white house who want to promote healthy eating habits for our nation’s children. I haven’t seen such overreaching nanny-statism since the days of Nancy Reagan.

Tom_Shipley on November 26, 2010 at 12:31 PM

I think he’s done enough to destroy our country in two years. I fear for the next two and he doesn’t really need another term. As a matter of fact, he should be impeached.

Wills on November 26, 2010 at 2:47 PM

So the highest office in the land in the most powerful nation on earth is a mere “escapade,” and heaven forbid FLOTUS deny us the brilliance and honesty that is one Barry Obama… WTF?!

And as for her sacrifices, it hardly rings true from a woman who’s racked up more 5-star traveling points than any first lady in recent memory, all while her subjects try to cope with the worst recession in modern memory. If that’s sacrifice, sign me up for some.

redfoxbluestate on November 26, 2010 at 5:40 PM

yeah it’s an hour late. In law a wife is not allowed to testify against her husband. So just how is this woman allowed to propagandize for her husband?

Oh right, D’rats have magic; just not so much.

Caststeel on November 26, 2010 at 6:36 PM

You think she really has no input on policy? I’m reading rumours that she fell out with Rahm Emmanuel, and that the Obamas are twisting arms so that he doesn’t become mayor Chicago.
