Chris Christie on whether Sarah Palin could be President: “It’s an amazing world”

posted at 10:15 am on November 24, 2010 by The Right Scoop

Actually his full answer was “Who knows, Jimmy, it’s an amazing world.” Jimmy, being Jimmy Fallon, asked Christie last night about his presidential aspirations. When Christie rejected the idea of running for President, Fallon suggested that he could be Vice President to Sarah Palin and then asked the big question everyone is asking these days: Do you think Sarah Palin could be President?

If you don’t want to watch the whole interview, skip to about 35 seconds remaining for the part about Sarah Palin (h/t Real Clear Politics):

(Allahpundit posted this quote in his QOTD last night, but since the video is now available, I thought it was worth a single post)

There are different opinions and then there is Palin trashing, which many see as a recreational sport. :)

For the record, I never accused anyone of being a troll. Just of acting in an operational capacity for Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula. There’s a big difference.

The anti-Palin faction are such sissies. They’ll lie, omit and distort all day yet when they’re called on it they can’t handle it.

If there’s a “troll checklist” somwhere, this needs to be right at the top of it.

She chose that route.

NoLeftTurn on November 24, 2010 at 5:16 PM

You needed to go back three hours to dredge up a troll post – what is that, like five pages?

Anyway, you have to understand how the liberal thought process works: It’s what Ayn Rand called “subjectivism.” Their rabid, mindless hatred of whoever happens to be the leading conservative target of the moment MUST be justified — because no one as wonderful as them could possibly hate someone who wasn’t deserving of their hatred.

Get it? Of course not, that’s because every normal person’s thought processes work in a linear fashion. But the liberal thought process has its own weird kind of “logic.” It’s called recursion; it spins around in a very tight and utterly unbreakable little circle.

You can never stop one while he’s spinning; don’t try. All we can ever do is stand outside and poke fun. It agitates them; but trust me, that’s a good thing.

logis on November 24, 2010 at 6:02 PM

I will not watch Fallon–just loathe him.

As for Christie, his “it’s an amazing world” is as much a non sequitur as Babs Bush’s “She beautiful. She should stay in Alaska.”
Neither statement has any real meaning or merit and only shows blind bias and animus to Governor Palin’s many qualifications and fine qualities as a superb candidate for higher office.

It’s pathetic to see this thread go to 8 pages, largely over the tired, worn out “quitter” meme.
And in my semi-long life, I’ve never seen a political candidate or figure attacked or dismissed because of the alleged quality of their supporters until Sarah.

Because, Smiley, the “options” available to you don’t have anything to do with the deeply-held principles, values and ideals you hold for American governance that we normally assume you possess.
This is what narrows one’s choice of “options.”

I’m talking about Mitt, Huck and Newt here, especially.
They’re just not conservatives and no amount of open-minded candidate shopping will ever make them more conservative.

Okay I’m gonna lay it on the line about Chris Christie.

I love his steel spine when it comes to being unafraid to take on the Unions. The fact that he’s politically incorrect is awesome. That being said……

…..he has always come across to me as a stereotypical loud mouthed fat Northeastern jerk. The kind that cuts you off in traffic and flips you off in traffic or acts like they’re going to ram you. Maybe I’m wrong and he’s a luvable fuzzball. Just perceptions from a geezer in Flyover Country.

Isn’t he essentially a typical RINO Northeastern Republican? I’ve heard that he supports the Ground Zero mosque and other socially liberal positions. Not my cup of tea but like I said he’s great with Fiscal responsibility and taking on the Unions (that’s A+ in my book).

Aren’t you all sick of losers like McCain, Romney, et al who can’t win? If you can’t win, it doesn’t matter. Why not wait until someone is officially nominated and then unite to make that person a winner instead of trashing people. No more Sharon Angles, Millers, and ODonnells. The Tea Party has figured it out; now why can’t everyone else. It will take conservatives, Repubs, rinos, and Indies to beat these jackasses and if you can’t figure this out and unite, well, its going to be a bumpy road.
